Chapter 427 - Chapter 425: HE'S ALIVE!! (Bonus)

This is the bonus chapter for reaching 200 Powerstones.

--

Outside the ruined hall, [Your Salt, My Vinegar] led his hundred Chaos faction players toward the burning wreckage.

Corpses of the false Emperor's soldiers littered the ground beneath their feet.

Human remains torn apart by the rocket bombardment were scattered everywhere, while blood flowed through the cracks between the ruins.

Nobody spared the bodies a glance.

Every eye was fixed on the barely standing structure ahead.

"FASTER! FASTER!"

[Your Salt, My Vinegar] urged them over the channel.

"FIND SEJANUS'S BODY! I WANT PROOF, DEAD OR ALIVE!"

A hundred figures accelerated.

They climbed over the wreckage, circled burning pillars, and ducked beneath chunks of masonry that were still falling from above.

Soon, they reached the entrance to the ruined hall.

[Your Salt, My Vinegar] raised a hand, signaling everyone to stop.

His eyes swept across the destruction.

Rubble everywhere.

Flames everywhere.

The unmistakable scars of a massive bombardment covered every surface.

But there were no bodies.

No white power armor.

No Luna Wolves.

[Your Salt, My Vinegar] frowned.

"Something's wrong..."

He muttered to himself.

"There's no way they all died."

"Those are elite Luna Wolves Honor Guards."

"Eleven Astartes... There's no way every single one of them got blown to pieces."

"SPREAD OUT AND SEARCH!"

His voice thundered across the channel.

"THEY HAVE TO BE ALIVE! FIND THEM!"

A hundred figures scattered, beginning their search through the ruins.

But deep within the wreckage, twelve figures were already waiting for them.

Sejanus leaned against a broken pillar, watching the searching soldiers through a narrow gap in the debris.

The corners of his mouth lifted.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

It was filled with cold killing intent.

"One hundred ordinary humans..."

His voice was so quiet that only he could hear it.

"And they think they can hunt the Luna Wolves?"

"Interesting."

He slowly raised his bolter, aiming at a white-armored figure approaching his position.

His finger settled gently against the trigger.

And then...

A series of even louder explosions suddenly erupted from the direction of the palace's main gate.

The thunder of siege artillery.

The tremendous crash of Terminator power fists smashing through massive metal doors.

The battle cries of the Luna Wolves.

[Your Salt, My Vinegar] whipped his head toward the main entrance.

His pupils contracted.

Black-armored Terminators were pouring through the palace gates.

White-armored warriors followed close behind.

And at the front of that advancing formation, two figures stood out immediately.

One was broad-shouldered, powerfully built, and radiating terrifying killing intent.

Ezekyle Abaddon.

The other was as steady as a mountain, his expression as hard as iron.

Garviel Loken.

[Your Salt, My Vinegar] felt his heart skip a beat.

"Fuck."

He cursed into the channel.

"Brothers, I think Abaddon and Loken... just broke into the palace!"

All hundred players froze.

Every head turned toward the main gate.

[Your Salt, My Vinegar] took a deep breath.

His gaze shifted back and forth between the inner ruins and the rapidly approaching Luna Wolves.

Then he gritted his teeth.

"KEEP SEARCHING!"

His voice rang across the channel with desperate determination.

"SEJANUS IS SOMEWHERE IN THESE RUINS!"

"FIND HIM! KILL HIM!"

"AS LONG AS HE DIES, THIS WHOLE OPERATION WILL HAVE BEEN WORTH IT!"

"OTHERWISE, EVERYONE WE LOST TODAY DIED FOR NOTHING!"

The hundred players clenched their jaws and resumed their search.

Deep within the wreckage, Sejanus leaned against his pillar, his faint smile growing wider.

He watched another white-armored figure slowly approach through the gap in the rubble.

His finger rested lightly on the trigger.

Then...

BANG!

A bolter thundered through the ruins.

A bloody hole instantly erupted in the approaching figure's chest.

The username [The Sky Is So Blue] immediately turned gray.

[Your Salt, My Vinegar]'s pupils contracted.

He spun toward the depths of the wreckage.

There, a white-armored figure was slowly rising from the debris.

Covered in blood.

Yet still standing as straight and proud as a towering pine.

Hastur Sejanus.

Captain of the Luna Wolves' Fourth Company.

The most composed, honorable, and rational member of the Mournival.

And now he stood before them, studying the Chaos players with cold, merciless eyes.

A faint, icy smile hung on his lips.

"You?"

His voice was quiet, but the killing intent behind it sent chills down their spines.

"A bunch of ordinary humans..."

"And you think you're capable of killing me?"

An indescribable mixture of emotions surged through [Your Salt, My Vinegar].

Fear.

Anger.

And something else.

A trace of almost insane excitement.

"BROTHERS!"

His voice exploded across the channel.

"HE'S ALIVE! HE SURVIVED!"

"EVERYONE! FOCUS FIRE! KILL HIM!"

Ninety-nine bolters swung toward the white-armored figure.

They opened fire simultaneously, unleashing a torrential storm of explosive rounds into the ruins.

Sejanus moved.

His figure became a white blur, darting between shattered pillars and fallen masonry like a bolt of lightning.

Bolt rounds exploded behind him, blasting blackened craters into the pillars and throwing clouds of dust into the air.

But somehow, the white-armored figure always managed to move just before the bullets reached him.

His footsteps were as light as a cat's.

His ability to anticipate enemy fire was terrifyingly precise.

It was almost as though he could see the trajectory of every bullet before it was fired.

"HE'S NOT UNDERESTIMATING US!"

"HE'S ACTUALLY DODGING!"

[Poor Men Buy Cars, Rich Men Buy Watches, Billionaires Play Boonie Bears Run] screamed while frantically holding down the trigger.

"FOCUS FIRE! KEEP SHOOTING!"

"VINEGAR BRO, GO FOR HIS LEGS!"

But Sejanus's movements were too unpredictable.

He never ran in a straight line.

Instead, he zigzagged through the ruins, constantly changing direction.

Every turn allowed him to evade another wave of incoming fire.

Every brief pause placed him behind the thickest available cover.

Lone Wolf crouched behind a broken pillar, watching Sejanus weave through the hail of bullets.

His eyelids practically twitched from disbelief.

Holy shit...

So THIS is what a company captain from the Great Crusade era can do?

That movement! Those predictions! Those ridiculous reflexes!

If this were an actual game, he'd have the stats of a max-level boss.

Compared to this guy, even that famous Emperor's Children captain Lucius the other players keep talking about would look like a dancing potato.

But a second later, Lone Wolf had no time left to admire him.

Because the Chaos players, realizing they couldn't hit Sejanus, began switching targets.

Ten white-armored Luna Wolves emerged from different positions throughout the wreckage.

Their speed was equally terrifying.

The bolters in their hands seemed almost alive, every carefully aimed burst striking a Chaos player directly in the head.

Three heads exploded simultaneously.

Three headless corpses collapsed.

Their usernames instantly turned gray.
