Chapter 4 - The Summoning Gate

Woo Manyeo carefully examined the stone frame.

It was only a frame.

There was no door.

It stood abruptly in the middle of a pile of rubble and one could see straight through from one side to the other at a glance.

Before this… he had thought it was just an ugly stone decoration…

No, wasn't there even any signage for such an important place?

Even emergency exits at least had illuminated signs!

This was the grand gate of hell!

It didn't even deserve a simple arrow symbol?!!!

Woo Manyeo forcefully held back the complaints that were on the verge of spilling out, his brows tightly knitted as he suppressed his emotions and continued to ask respectfully, "Excuse me, senior, it's probably been a few hours already, right? Why hasn't any human summoned yet?"

"Huh?… Hahahahaha…"

That demon burst into laughter as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

Only after laughing enough did he say, "A few hours? The last time that thing lit up was four years ago."

"Four years? Four years?? For four whole years you just… waited like this???"

"Otherwise?" the demon shot back.

Otherwise? Otherwise??

If no one comes to you, then you take the initiative!

Were they seriously just waiting for others to come knocking?

What era was this?

Without marketing who would even know your product!

Woo Manyeo was bursting with reprimands, but because the other party was far stronger than him, he couldn't say a word.

His black pupils were practically about to turn red from holding it in.

He kept persuading himself in his heart that right now he was just a newly transformed little demon, he absolutely could not act impulsively.

When the day came that he climbed up, the very first thing he would do would be to straighten out these lazy demons! And then renovate hell from top to bottom!

This place was simply an eyesore!

This? This also deserved to be called hell?!

Over the next thirteen days, Woo Manyeo silently surveyed the entirety of hell with the discerning eye of a leader on inspection.

Every single thing he thought needed rectification was recorded in a little mental notebook.

Until today.

The Gate of Summoning in hell lit up.

Woo Manyeo shouted in his heart: Lucky! Lucky! Lucky!

During these thirteen days, he had heard from the older demons that 13 was a lucky number in hell.

And sure enough, hadn't he finally gotten his chance!

With such a good beginning, he could already imagine his new "career" ahead—his future was bright.

No, not bright—dark, because darkness was the supreme pursuit of hell!

He took a big step forward and dashed straight toward the glowing gate.

After he rushed into the curtain of light, the surrounding lazy demons didn't move at all.

All that remained was speechless resignation.

They shook their heads and sighed, their impatience reaching its peak.

"Tsk tsk tsk, a newcomer…"

"Who's going with him?"

"Not me."

"A newbie doesn't know anything."
