Once upon a time, in a peaceful and prosperous kingdom, there lived a king and a queen who loved each other dearly. King Adeleke and Queen Adebimpe ruled with wisdom,fairness, and kindness,and their people loved them in return.
In this kingdom,a special tradition was held so often, a rite that determined the boldest and kindest among the king's children. The rite require the children to venture into the Frightened Forest, a place filled with mystery to retrieve a magical lotus flower.
King Adeleke, worried that his children might face danger and bring him disappointment, decided to give them a special assignment before the rite. This is important ceremony would take place on the day the king completed his twenty-fourth year on the throne.
The king and queen had three children: Adegbenga the eldest; Adeyimika the second; and Adekunle the last. All the three had finished their schooling and had also finished serving their father's kingdom faithfully. Now, they were ready to prove their courage and heart in the sacred rite.
And so, as the day of the rite drew near, the kingdom held its breath, waiting to see which of the three royal children would rise as the boldest and kindest of them all.
