The rain felt harder than usual.
Aiman stood silently under the dim corridor light.gripping jis phone tightly in his hand.

He didn't want to answer.
But somehow...his heart felt uneasy.
Slowly,he picked that call.
It was Pak cik Malik.
His voice sounded different.
Heavy,
Broken.
"Aiman...come to the hospital,now"
The words suddently felt quiter.
What hapoen,Pak cik?"
There was a pause on the other end.
A long pause
Then-
"Your parent...were in an accident"
For a moment,Aiman forgot how to brearher.
The phone sliiped slightly from his finger.
"No.."
His voice cracked.
"No..that impossible!.
Just two hours ago .
His mother reminded him not to forgot dinner with his younger sister.
His father joke a hari raya preparing.
Everything was fine.
Everything look normal.
So how could everything changed....
It just two hours ago.?
The hospital corridor smelled cold
Too cold.
Aiman walked faster
Then slowly
Then faster again.
Untill he finally saw pak cik Malik standing outside the emergency room.
He dudn"t need to ask.
He already know the answer.
Pak cik Malk stepped foward slowly.
Place his hand on Aiman shoulder and shook his head.

Something inside Aima collapsed.
Silently.
Completely.

Her school uniform stilk wet from the rain.
Her eyes searching for answer.she wasn't ready to hear tbat news.
"Where's ibu..?"
Aiman couldn't answer.
"Where ayah...?"
He lips trembled.
But no words came out.
Aiman walked toward her.
Pulled her gently into his arms..
And held her tighter than evef before.
From thaf moment on-
Without saying a single words-
Aiman make promise to himself.
He woyld never let Aina face the world alone again.
