Chapter 91 - Overwhelming Firepower

Guns. Hundreds of guns.

Not just guns, but cannons, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and even tons of oversized iron bombs.

All of these weapons flew above the Iron Fist Gang, silently manipulated by the air currents.

Viktor had never understood why Levi asked him to help manufacture so many cheap, low-tech iron bombs.

Now he understood.

When these cheap iron bombs took to the sky under the control of wind magic, their deterrent power was even greater than any Hextech weapon.

"Fuck!" Avery stared at the pitifully small infantry rocket launcher in his hands, then looked up at the sky-obscuring arsenal of guns and artillery above him, completely dumbfounded.

Right now, Levi was practically a human AC-130 gunship.

Weren't mages supposed to act like mages?

Just use your damn spells, stop using guns!

"I-If you have the guts, come down here!" Avery roared in impotent rage.

Driven by a mix of anger and fear, he pulled the trigger, firing the rocket from his shoulder.

His subordinates quickly followed suit.

But Levi simply summoned a light breeze, turning the dozens of rockets into headless flies. They veered wildly off course, ultimately exploding in the air like futile fireworks.

"Damn it!" Avery realized the grim truth.

Not only could this guy fly, but he was also completely immune to projectiles!

How were they supposed to fight this?

"Try switching to guns!" Avery yelled, hoping that the faster velocity of bullets could pierce through the enemy's gales.

But Levi gave him no chance to test that theory.

Levi subtly manipulated the air currents and slowly pulled the trigger. Well, he pulled hundreds of triggers simultaneously.

And so, it rained upon the battlefield. A rain of bullets, artillery shells, bombs, and a meteor shower of fire.

The entire landscape was transformed into a purgatory by this torrential downpour, thoroughly scoured from the inside out.

"This..." Vi stared in stunned disbelief.

Flying out of reach in the sky and frantically dropping bombs below. Battles could be fought like this? This...

"Isn't this way too cheap?!" Vi remarked. Zaunites fought with flesh and bone, trading blow for blow. Who fought this shamelessly?

"Try it and you'll see," Levi said, using the air currents to deliver a few iron bombs to Vi.

She was the only one among the five of them without any ranged attacks.

He figured he might as well let her use the power of her gauntlets to throw bombs, allowing her to experience the thrill of being a "Daring Bombardier."

"Hmm," Vi muttered, tentatively picking up a bomb and placing it in her massive Hextech Armed Gauntlet.

Then, like pitching a baseball, she hurled it viciously at the Shimmer Warriors fleeing frantically on the ground.

Boom!

A deafening explosion rang out as flames erupted.

Honestly, it felt incredibly satisfying.

"Hehehe," Vi chuckled, unable to hold back her grin.

"Don't just stand there," Levi told his teammates. "Bomb them to hell!"

In an instant, Viktor's Death Ray, Caitlyn's headshots, Seraphine's magical notes, Vi's thrown bombs, and the metal storm commanded by Levi rained down unreservedly upon their enemies.

The grunts, whose courage was artificially propped up by Shimmer Potions, were quickly reduced to minced meat under the first wave of overwhelming firepower.

Only the powerful Chemtech warriors equipped with Turbo Chemtanks managed to rely on their superhuman physiques to clumsily dodge and endure the fiery purgatory.

But no matter how they dodged, they couldn't escape this carpet bombing.

The cheapest iron bombs fell like raindrops, relentlessly battering their expensive Chemtech Armor.

This squad of Turbo Chemtank warriors, assembled at an exorbitant cost, fell ignominiously under the endless artillery fire without achieving a single thing.

Soon, even Avery, with his mountain-like physique, collapsed under the overwhelming assault.

His Chemtech Armor was blown to pieces, and his bulging muscles were blasted into a mangled mess. He slumped defeatedly into a still-warm crater, seemingly devoid of the strength to stand back up.

"He's still alive," Levi noted, sensing Avery's incredibly faint breathing before finally halting the bombardment.

The air currents told him that everyone else was dead.

The battle was over.

Levi led his teammates as they slowly descended from the sky, approaching Avery.

"Can you still speak?" Levi asked, wanting to have a chat.

Caitlyn was even more impatient, demanding, "Avery! Tell me, where exactly did you get those Turbo Chemtanks?"

"I... I..." Avery seemed capable of speaking.

His voice was so weak that it was nearly impossible to hear.

Yet he struggled to swallow, as if he genuinely had some final words to share.

"What are you trying to say?" Caitlyn asked, leaning in closer out of concern.

But Seraphine stopped her. "Careful, Miss Caitlyn."

"The voice of his soul is not at peace."

Just as she spoke.

Avery suddenly mustered his last ounce of strength, taking the chemical pump he had desperately protected from the artillery fire and viciously stabbing it into his own chest.

The Shimmer Potion surged into his heart, stimulating a final burst of power from his broken body.

Blood that had turned completely deep purple rapidly filled his ruined form, causing the veins all over his body to bulge hideously in a grotesque writhing motion. His muscles were nearly torn apart by the sheer force of the drug, and an eerie purple glow even seeped from the fissures in his flesh.

Like a cornered beast, Avery leaped up ferociously. Seizing this sole opportunity to get close to Levi, he threw a devastating punch at him.

"Levi—die!"

"My mission is complete!"

At the very least, he had to force Levi to make a move.

Even if this punch only managed to push Levi back a single step, he would have fulfilled the demands of those big shots. Perhaps his foolish younger brother would be spared his life because of it.

Unfortunately, what goes around comes around.

The Iron Fist Gang, which had brought despair to countless people, finally met their own despair.

"Eye of the Storm!" Before the iron fist could connect, the bluebird flapped her wings.

A fierce gale swirled around Levi, condensing into a solid barrier of wind.

"Mr. Levi!" In that split second, Seraphine also instinctively felt the urge to protect Levi.

Although she was still inexperienced in wielding her innate magic.

But seeing Avery's fist about to strike Levi, Seraphine miraculously grasped the profound magic that had always been hidden deep within her soul without any prior instruction:

"Surround—Sound!"

Seraphine opened her mouth and released a musical note. The invisible music transformed into tangible magic, firmly shielding Levi.

Behind Janna's shield of wind, an additional layer of Seraphine's shield of sound enveloped Levi.

The two shields overlapped perfectly, wrapping Levi in a turtle-like iron shell.

Finally, the iron fist collided with the shields.

With an eerily soft sound...

Avery's steel-hard fist was effortlessly deflected by the faintly shimmering, semi-transparent barrier.

His desperate, dying strike couldn't even break through Levi's shields.

Moreover, the overlapping of the two spells created a wondrous magical reaction, generating a warm energy capable of healing the human body.

Not only was Levi completely unharmed, but the tiny bit of stamina he had expended was fully restored.

"You..." Avery's eyes widened before he closed them in resignation.

His massive, mountain-like body finally collapsed, devoid of strength.

The Iron Fist Gang was annihilated.
