Chapter 1 - Prologue

Thousands of years ago, during the 8,000th year of the Chango Period, Emperor Quin was branded a coward, weak, and useless. The war between the human race and the Titans had reached its peak. Immortals were dwindling as more fell in battle, while fewer humans ascended to replace them. Across the realms, whispers spread that His Majesty had retreated into the Celestial Palace, sacrificing others while abandoning the world to its fate.

Those whispers were wrong. Emperor Quin had withdrawn into the Celestial Palace, but not to rest or hide. He pushed his Divine Senses to their limits, stretching across countless realms, searching for the homeland of the Titans. Every moment was spent tracing their origin, hoping to find the root of the war and end it at its source.

In year 8,476, Crown Prince Leng revealed this truth to the people, despite his father's wish to keep it hidden.

The hearts of all were filled with remorse for tarnishing his name. That remorse spread quickly and turned into resolve, pushing more people onto the path of cultivation, each hoping to share even a fraction of His Majesty's burden. Master cultivators understood the cost of exhausting one's Divine Sense. Even for the Celestial Emperor, such strain could drain his cultivation and claim his life.

Across the realms, soul nourishing treasures and rare pills were gathered and sent to the Celestial Palace. Everyone did what they could, no matter how small. By year 9,220, the Immortal population rose to 2,000. The human population stabilized at around 1,400,000,000, though only 15% possessed the ability to cultivate. In contrast, the Titan population continued to grow, with some reports placing their numbers at over 8,000,000,000.

The moment of truth came in year 9,800. Emperor Quin not only endured the strain of endlessly using his Divine Sense, he also broke through. For ages, it had been believed that the peak of cultivation was the Celestial Stage, with nothing beyond it, only deeper levels of Dao comprehension. Yet in that moment, that belief began to crack.

The Immortal Realm had always chosen the strongest Celestial Stage Immortal and recognized them as the Celestial Emperor, granting them the authority to wield the Will of the Celestial Heart. The Chango Clan had held this honor for over 9,000 years. Now, under Emperor Quin, it seemed the heavens had granted them something more.

Emperor Quin stepped beyond the Celestial Stage and entered a realm that would come to be known as the Dao Lord stage. From a young age, he had cultivated the Space Dao, and upon reaching the Celestial Stage, his understanding of space surpassed all others. He became the Space Celestial, the leader of all who walked the path of space, his mastery unmatched across the realms.

As his Dao comprehension deepened and his cultivation grew ever more profound, the Celestial Heart recognized him as the successor to his grandfather, granting him the mantle of Celestial Emperor. Now, with his breakthrough, Quin had not only pushed past the known limits of cultivation, but also redefined them, raising the peak itself and elevating the prestige of all Space Cultivators.

With this new level of power, Quin finally located the homeland of the Titans and began planning a great invasion. Before taking action, he did something that no one at the time fully understood. In that era, the Daos of Space, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Wood, Sword, and Spear were the most developed, each having a cultivator who stood at the Celestial Peak.

Before launching the invasion, Quin used his power to create a region within the Celestial Realm so dense that not even light could escape. Within that sealed space, he imprisoned one Celestial from each of those paths. As he closed the barrier, he gave only a single command, telling them to cultivate well.

It took those cultivators 2,000 years to escape. The pressure within that sealed space slowly decreased as their cultivation rose, the two forces resonating with one another. When they finally broke free, everything was already over. San Noel, now a Peak Stage Celestial of Space, looked at the others and said, "We are all that's left in the Celestial Realm."

They fused their Divine Senses and reached across the realms, trying to understand what remained. Instead, they encountered the lingering consciousness of Emperor Quin. His voice carried calm weight as it spoke. "Well done. You have not disappointed us. We succeeded in killing the Titan King and most of his subordinates. However, their numbers and cultivation are far too great."

His presence wavered, but his words remained steady. "They are not from our world. They come from a place beyond, with far greater beings behind them. This is an invasion. I can only buy the human race time to produce more Celestials and, hopefully, some Dao Lords. That is the name I give to this new stage."

The space trembled as his will continued. "I have placed a powerful seal around the Mortal Realm. I tied several empty realms to it and connected 7 Main Realms to form a 7 Step Bridge leading to the Celestial Realm. This is now the Human Domain. When more Dao Lords emerge with power greater than mine, they may expand our domain."

He continued, "There are many things out here. Infinite possibilities and infinite dangers. We will not return to the Human Domain. We will travel this endless expanse and pave a path for when you are ready to follow. This seal will only prevent those with lesser cultivation and understanding from finding and invading the Human Domain."

His voice grew quieter, yet carried even greater weight. "If someone with greater power arrives, do what you can to preserve the human race. Farewell, young ones. Perhaps fate will allow us to meet again." His figure slowly faded, leaving the 8 masters in silence, each struggling to process what they had just learned.

In that moment, everything shifted. The burden of survival, the future of cultivation, and the fate of the human race now rested entirely in their hands.

They spread their senses across the Human Domain, locating the Mortal Realm and the 7 Main Realms that tethered it to the Celestial Realm, forming the 9 core realms of their domain. Beyond these, countless other realms drifted within the sealed space. Some expanded like the main realms, while others remained fixed in size. Though the number of realms was not infinite, it was vast enough to shape an entire civilization.

The Celestial Realm became their Central Command, a shared ground for all Celestials. From there, each of the 8 masters claimed a vacant realm and shaped it into a Dao Domain aligned with their path. Over time, these evolved into the 8 Dao Worlds, each tasked with guiding cultivation, increasing the Human Celestial population, and striving to produce a new Dao Lord.
