Chapter 332 - A New Disciple and the Power of the Tailed Beasts

Chapter 332: A New Disciple and the Power of the Tailed Beasts

The echoes of Uchiha Akira's harsh reprimand settled into the quiet expanse of the Tianyu Space. He looked down at the dejected group before him. Naruto stared at the dirt, his usual boundless energy snuffed out, while the others carried similar expressions of heavy defeat.

Akira's eyes narrowed slightly. A decision crystallized in his mind. Standard taijutsu and ninjutsu drills were no longer sufficient. If Naruto and Gaara were to survive the coming storms—if they were to possess the sheer destructive force required to turn the tide of a true war in a short period of time—they needed to tap into the very monsters sealed within their guts. They had to start with the Tailed Beasts.

"Wait here for a moment," Akira commanded. His voice brooked no argument.

Before anyone could nod, his figure blurred and vanished from the Tianyu Space.

A split second later, the familiar scent of ink and aged wood greeted him. He materialized behind the heavy oak desk of the Hokage Office.

A masked Anbu operative knelt on the floorboards, head bowed low. The moment Akira's chakra signature registered, the operative raised both hands, respectfully offering a stack of tightly bound sealing scrolls. Inside lay all the supplies Akira had previously ordered for Naruto and the others' half-month training regimen.

Without a single word of delay, Akira took the scrolls and his figure vanished once more.

The scenery shifted. The sterile air of the Hokage Office was replaced by the vast, isolated environment of the Tianyu Space. Akira reappeared before the group and walked straight toward Temari. As the oldest and undoubtedly the most composed of the four, she was the natural choice. He dropped the heavy scrolls into her arms.

"These are your training supplies for the upcoming period," Akira stated, his tone flat and authoritative. "You will be responsible for their safekeeping and distribution."

Temari straightened her posture, her grip tightening on the canvas fabric of the scrolls. "Yes, Hokage-sama!" she answered, her voice ringing with absolute solemnity.

Akira shifted his gaze. "Naruto. Go change your clothes."

With a flick of his wrist, a neatly folded bundle sailed through the air and landed squarely against Naruto's chest. The boy fumbled to catch it, unfolding the fabric to reveal a brand new combat suit woven in stark black and vibrant orange.

Naruto's blue eyes widened. The heavy gloom clinging to his shoulders evaporated in an instant. "Oh! Thank you, Teacher!" he cheered, clutching the fabric to his chest before excitedly sprinting off to the side to change.

With those minor logistics handled, Akira turned his attention to the red-haired boy standing quietly off to the side.

"Gaara."

The boy flinched slightly at his name, his pale sea-green eyes lifting to meet Akira's dark stare. "...Here," he replied softly.

Akira studied him for a moment, then spoke a single sentence that sent a shockwave through both Gaara and Temari.

"Will you be my disciple?"

Gaara's head snapped up. His breath hitched. Disbelief washed over his pale features, cracking his usual mask of stoic indifference.

Disciple?

The word echoed in his mind, foreign and entirely alien. He tasted the syllables on his tongue, barely a whisper. "Disciple...?"

For his entire life, his world had been defined by a completely different concept. Monster.

Since the moment he could comprehend language, he had been nothing more than the Hidden Sand Village's ultimate weapon. A walking calamity. An object of fear for everyone. He remembered his father, Rasa, looking down at him with eyes devoid of a single ounce of warmth. He remembered the villagers, their faces twisted in terror, disgust, and raw hatred whenever he walked down the dusty streets.

Even Yashamaru. The uncle who had once offered him a fleeting illusion of warmth. In the end, Yashamaru had followed Rasa's orders, driving a kunai toward Gaara's heart and delivering the cruelest truth of all: that Gaara was a demon, unloved by anyone since the very second he drew breath.

Never once had anyone looked at him and thought of teaching him. They only ever sought to control him. To cage him.

Beside him, Temari gasped. Her initial shock rapidly melted into pure, unadulterated ecstasy. Her hands trembled. This was a turning point—an opportunity that could rewrite Gaara's entire destiny. To become the personal disciple of the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. It was an unmatched honor, a privilege that the most arrogant geniuses across the shinobi nations wouldn't even dare to dream of.

She looked at her younger brother. Gaara stood completely frozen, his eyes wide and vacant as he processed the shock. Panic flared in Temari's chest. She lunged forward, grabbing Gaara from behind.

"Gaara!" she hissed, keeping her voice low but frantic, pouring all her strength into the urge. "What are you waiting for! Say yes quickly!"

Her desperate grip grounded him. The immense mental shock receded, allowing Gaara to slowly focus his vision back on the tall, imposing figure of Uchiha Akira.

To the rest of the people from the Hidden Sand Village, this man was a demon who had destroyed their home. But to Gaara, the truth was entirely different. Uchiha Akira was the man who had helped him break free from the Tailed Beast's maddening erosion. Akira had dragged him out of the suffocating cage that was the Hidden Sand.

There was no hatred in Gaara's heart for the Uchiha. Only a deep, overwhelming sense of gratitude.

To become his disciple. To stand under his protection.

Gaara's chest heaved as his breathing quickened. He clenched his fists at his sides, his voice trembling just slightly as he gave his answer.

"...I... will."

The corner of Akira's mouth twitched upward in a faint, satisfied smile. He gave a single nod. "Very good."

Footsteps crunched against the dirt. Naruto jogged back over, tugging at the collar of his new black and orange jacket, a massive grin plastered across his face. Akira's gaze swept over the energetic blonde and then settled back on Gaara, whose pale face now held a rare glimmer of expectation.

"Since both of you are now my disciples," Akira began, his deep voice carrying across the quiet space. "Then, as your teacher, I naturally have a welcome gift for you."

Akira closed his eyes for a fraction of a second.

'System,'he recited silently in his mind.'Open the Disciple Cultivation Module.'

[Ding! Disciple Cultivation Module activated.]

[Detected new disciple: Gaara. Disciple Cultivation function updated.]

A translucent virtual screen materialized in the air before him, entirely invisible to the children watching his face. Rows of glowing text scrolled downward, displaying a dazzling array of abilities, bloodlines, and rare items designed specifically to cultivate his subordinates.

Akira's dark eyes tracked the glowing lines of text, filtering out the clutter until he locked onto a specific, high-tier option.

[Tailed Beast Chakra Conversion Array - Modified: A highly efficient auxiliary sealing ninjutsu that constructs chakra conversion nodes directly onto a Jinchuriki's body surface.]

[Effect: Converts the Tailed Beast's violent, malevolent chakra into pure energy that the host can absorb and use relatively safely. Significantly reduces the risk of the Jinchuriki going berserk when guiding Tailed Beast chakra.]

[Cost: 100,000 Family Glory Points.]

'Exchange,' Akira ordered without a second thought.

[Ding! Exchange successful! Tailed Beast Chakra Conversion Array - Modified has been issued!]

Akira stepped forward. He raised both hands, his palms open, and pressed them firmly against the lower abdomens of Naruto and Gaara respectively.

"Teacher?" Naruto blinked, tilting his head in confusion. He looked down at the hand resting over his stomach, not knowing what his teacher was about to do.

Beside him, Gaara's entire body went rigid. His defense mechanisms screamed at him, his muscles twitching with the instinct to retreat, but he gritted his teeth and ultimately chose to trust the man standing before him.

"Don't move," Akira's voice rang out, carrying a heavy weight that demanded absolute obedience.

The very next second, two streams of extremely pure, concentrated chakra erupted from Akira's palms. A brilliant light flared between his hands and the boys' stomachs.

Centered on his palms, thick, pitch-black ink began to bleed onto their skin. complex and deep runes crawled rapidly across Naruto and Gaara's lower abdomens. The sealing formulas spread outward, linking together and intertwining until they formed two complex yet perfectly symmetrical circular array patterns.

Naruto gasped. Instead of the usual burning agony that accompanied the Nine-Tails, he felt a sudden rush of warm, incredibly powerful force flowing directly into his meridian pathways.

After a short while, the blinding light faded into nothingness.

Two identical, jet-black ninjutsu marks were now permanently imprinted on their abdomens. Akira withdrew his hands, looking at their wide, shell-shocked expressions, and decided to explain.

"This sealing ninjutsu can help you filter out most of the negative will embedded within the Tailed Beast chakra," Akira stated, his tone clinical but resonant. "It will prevent you from easily being consumed by their madness and going berserk when you guide their power."

He shifted his cold gaze to the red-haired boy. "Gaara. From now on, you can actively unleash Shukaku's power without worrying about it controlling you in return."

Gaara touched his stomach, his eyes trembling with an emotion he couldn't name.

Then, Akira turned to the blonde. "Naruto. The Nine-Tails' power is exponentially more massive and violent than Shukaku's. With your current body and willpower, this ninjutsu can support you in safely using up to six tails of chakra at most."

Six tails.

Naruto's jaw dropped. His blue eyes instantly lit up like stars upon hearing the sheer magnitude of that limit.

Akira observed the raw excitement bubbling up on his two disciples' faces. His expression hardened, and his voice took on a deadly serious edge.

"But you must remember, this ninjutsu is not all-powerful," Akira warned, his voice slicing through their joy. "It is merely an aid. Something to allow you to adapt and familiarize yourselves with the Tailed Beast's power more safely in the initial stages. If you rely on it blindly, you will fail."

He crossed his arms over his chest, his imposing aura pressing down on them. "Do you all understand?"

Naruto and Gaara snapped to attention, the gravity of his words settling deep into their bones.

"Yes, Teacher!" they responded in perfect, resounding unison.
