Chapter 8 - "The Overclocker"

After Coming to the 10th section his breath shallow as he saw a guard on the entrance fo the 10th Section. To any passerby, he was just another sentry, but beneath the heavy black cloak, his heart hammered against his ribs. He stole a glance at the others; they all wore black masks edged in purple, their eyes glowing with an eerie, violet light.

They have no emotion, Jax thought, a chill crawling down his spine. They aren't even looking at things—they're just... visioning.

In other sections, the guards were human, or at least looked the part. But here, they stood like statues in a single spot, their hawk-like gaze fixed on nothingness. Jax's throat went dry. He swallowed hard, trying to steady his nerves. One more time, he whispered to himself. Don't mess this up.

Suddenly, a man emerged from the 8th Section. "Hey! Boss ordered you two to guard the roof of the 10th," he barked.

The two guards at the corner didn't hesitate. They scaled the side of the train, disappearing through the upper windows. The guard at the center of the section turned to the man guarding the entrance.

"You," the guard said, with his metallic voice "Come forward and rotate the area. " No need to guard the entry."

"But... it was my duty," the other guard with a hesitation.

The guard scoffed. "You think someone has the guts to steal from that monster over there?"

That guard didn't argue. He moved away from the entrance, Jax mind was racing. He had only two minutes left. He rolled into the 10th Section, slipping into the shadows and ducking behind a heavy shipping crate.

"Now the real work begins," he muttered, recalling Dallas's instructions. The Chip Code was 2A-716.

He scanned the rows of cargo. He found a box labeled 2C-717—so close, but not it. He kept moving, but then, his eyes locked onto a figure sitting top of a crate. It was a man, his legs bent, head bowed, eyes closed as if in a deep trance. He wore a sleeveless black hooded jacket over a purple vest. His arms were a canvas of intricate tattoos, and a single black rose was etched into the side of his neck.

Jax froze. A wave of pure intimidation washed over him. This man's aura felt like an electric impulse vibrating through the air of the room." An Overclocker", Jax realized. "Dallas, you really want to dig my grave here, don't you?"
