lf she's from Stone Moon... then that means...
My nephew's Luna...
*********
Serra's POV
I opened my eyes slowly, only to be blinded by the rays of sunlight. Where was I? My thoughts trailed off.
I tried to remember last night, but all I could recall were the boots of a man and my wolf's voice whispering, "Mate."
My eyes widened instantly. This can't be. My mate can't be here. If he is, my plan will be ruined... No.
Panic gripped me. Oh, moon goodness—why? I should be happy, right? But no.
Revenge still boiled in my veins. I couldn't help but frown.
Things weren't going the way I planned. Definitely not.
Then, that strong scent filled my nose. I tilted my head to the side and there he was.
Alpha Raze, sitting like a domineering lord.
I shivered. I could feel the power radiating from his body. His eyes met mine and they were filled with worry.
"Don't stress yourself," I heard his bold, warm voice. And I couldn't help but flutter.
I looked away from his gaze immediately.
This wasn't part of the plan. I shouldn't be feeling anything. Why was this happening?
"He's our mate, Serra," my wolf, Lauren, said. My lips trembled.
"What?" I nearly yelled. The shock hit hard.
He can't be. My mission would be ruined.
Or... was this actually going my way?
"Is that a good thing?" I asked my wolf, and she just hummed in dismay.
I didn't even realize when his towering presence blocked the sunlight. He gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, and I froze.
It was cold, yet soothing. Electric. I wanted that touch, I liked it.
No! I can't be thinking like this. Kael's blood runs in him too. The thought darkened my eyes and I shifted slightly away. He noticed.
I didn't want to see his expression. I had a plan.
And since he was my mate, shouldn't I use that to my advantage?
I wanted to, but right now, I was drained.
The seduction could wait.
I glanced at him again and froze. So close.
He was so close. I could feel his warm breath caressing my face. Our lips were just inches apart. I swallowed hard.
His golden eyes locked with mine.
They shimmered. I liked it. They looked so... heartwarming.
I was in a daze. And maybe he was too, at least, that's what it felt like.
"You have no mark," he said softly.
I snapped out of the trance, instinctively reaching for my neck.
He wasn't lying. That bastard kept me in his pack for no reason. No mark.
Just used me and kept me by his side like a possession.
I growled. "You're too close," I mumbled, shifting my frustration to my mate.
"Be gentle. He's not Kael. He's our mate," my wolf scolded. I rolled my eyes at her.
Alpha Raze's brows furrowed and I froze.
Did I upset him? Maybe I shouldn't have said that.
But then... he smiled.
"You're feisty," he said.
My breath hitched.
His voice. Fvck.
I was in deep trouble. Was I the one being seduced right now?
My cheeks burned, Kael never said those words to me and even if he did, it was with spite and malice.
But Raze? His words were filled with amusement. And something else...
curiosity? It felt nice. Being complimented.
"That wasn't a compliment," my wolf muttered and i pressed my lips together.
Maybe not. Ugh, was this mate bond messing with my head?
Even if it was, I wasn't about to like someone who shared Kael's blood.
I turned away, letting my hair fall over my cheeks.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught his gaze again. He looked confused.
Why? I didn't know.
What was he thinking?
He reached for my hair, but the door opened suddenly, and he paused.
A woman walked in.
She was about 5'7", with long raven-black hair that reached her waist.
Wide hips. Tiny waist. Damn, she was sexy.
But her eyes... they told a different story.
Hostile.
"I made this," she said, walking over to the table beside me and placing a tray down.
"Why are you here?" I heard Raze ask.
The woman smiled.
"Come on, don't welcome me like that. I'm being nice."
She gestured to the tray. "I made a recovery stew—for my best friend's mate."
My stomach churned. I didn't like her.
"Jealous?" my wolf teased lightly.
I growled.
"I'm not," I snapped with a scoff.
Why was Raze just standing there? Send her out!
But instead, his eyes relaxed a little.
"That's good," he said.
And just like that, my smile fell.
Oh wow. A cheating nephew... and now a scornful uncle, I couldn't help but scoff.
The woman heard me, but instead she smiled in return, but it didn't feel genuine.
I hated her outfit too. She was dressed like she came to impress her mate.
Her top barely covered her belly button. Her abs? Flat and cute.
Paired with baggy pants and fancy sneakers, she looked like she just got back from a workout.
Was she showing off?
Why was I even mad?
My mate had been focused on me, until she walked in with her fake smiles and all.
They whispered something to each other. I couldn't hear it, but I caught the last thing she said:
"You'll bring your mate, right? If she can't come, you can roll with me as your date."
What?
She was hitting on my mate, right in front of me.
And what did my mate say?
"Okay."
My eyes dropped.
What was I expecting? His nephew was a cheater, and he's no different. Scums.
The woman left right after.
Raze turned back to me.
"She's my best friend. Nothing more," he said. "So don't stare at me like that."
I scoffed. "How did I stare at you?"
I hadn't even realized I'd said that out loud.
Too late. My lips parted on their own.
He looked at me for a long moment. "Aren't you the Luna of Stone Moon Pack?" he asked.
I froze.
"Was," I said quietly.
"I'm no longer his Luna."
