Chapter 1 - A New World

"What?" Is the word that I first said after being transported into this world.

I was a young boy, only 16 years of age. My name? Well it's not relevant now.

I was walking home after school, I am not exactly the best student there is, but I'm also not a troublemaker.

I was a pretty ordinary student, I planned on keeping it that way too.

I never stand out in anything really, not academics, or athletics.

I purposefully did not stand out to keep myself out of trouble. I don't... Wanna be relied on, if I was relied on... When I fail I will be blamed for it. I was always scared of being blamed.

My father... Wasn't the best. He was always drunk and always blaming everything that's wrong in his life on me. Like I have any control on that. He always have something new to blame on me. Not only blames, he sometimes beat me. I hated it, I hated my life. All because of him. My mother on the other hand, I don't know where she is. She left me with that bastard since I was 8 years old.

I was walking home from school, it was a pretty normal day. No fighting, no competition, just a normal school day.

I got home pretty excited to watch this new tv show that's airing. It's about a superhero who got his power from his bracelet.

I got home, placed my backpack where I always placed it on, the table in my room. And goes to the living room to watch tv. I'm praying my father doesn't come home drunk.

After what seems like an hour, my father's car pulls up to the driveway.

I heard him slurring his words. My chest feels weird, I don't know what this feeling was.

Dread? Horror? Terror?

All I know is I hated it.

My father slammed the door close and starts talking about his coworkers being annoying.

He then walks up to me and asked if I have been stealing his cigarettes. I keep my gaze on the tv and said no. I... Was lying. I smoked from time to time to relieve stress. Not a good habit I know, But it's one of the only thing that relieved my stress.

He started to shout about me lying to him, and me being an ungrateful bastard.

I wanted him to stop, I wanted to shout at him to stop. But I can't. I'm scared.

He picked up a bottle of alcohol, I'm not sure what kind it is. And then he called my name.

His face is the last thing I see before the bottle hit me and all I can see is a dark sky and a terrain full of sand. It feels cold.

As I traversed the rough terrain for what seems to be months Before I see a light. It's a warm light compared to the cold terrain I was at.

After what seemed like a few more months, I finally reached it.

I then opened my eyes, I was in a house I wasn't familiar with. The design looks weird and old school.

My body feels small, like a baby.

I was then picked up by someone I could only describe as a warm lady with a strangely warm red eyes and long black hair with a tired yet genuine smile on her face.

I finally speak for what seems like Months.

"What?" Is the only thing I said. And the warm woman doesn't seem to have heard it, no one seems to have heard it.

"You're alive... Against all odds" Says the warm woman, her smile turns a little melancholic.

From the left. a doctor, Or what I assume is one. Told this warm woman "Ms. Schwartz, your baby was just born. He seems healthy, but he'll need to rest"

From those words I can only come up with one conclusion.

I'm a baby. And this warm woman, Ms. Schwartz. Is my mother.

The one I assume is my mother says a name when she looks at me.

"Julian"
