Jacob hardly got any sleep throughout the night. The images of the dream he had the night before were still burned into his brain so deeply that it was hard for him to ignore them. He could have sworn that he saw his father pass away right in front of him. It couldn't be possible that he was alive... at least that's what he felt.
In his dream, the relationship between Jacob and his father was at best complicated. His father had done many horrible things to him and his friends in pursuit of power, but he had learned that the reason for it was to protect humanity from potential extinction, which changed how Jacob viewed his dad completely. However, he wasn't dreaming anymore, and he was going to see his father today. But there was still something that felt off about the entire thing. Jacob leaned over to Maria after he sat up and asked her a question.
"Hey, I know this is going to sound crazy, but what ever happened to my mom?"
Maria sat up and rubbed her face before answering.
