GA: Chapter 137: A Thoroughly Baffled Tenshi Zixin — A Conversation Between Sacred Kesha and Hexi
But if pressed to articulate the specific reason, Hikari couldn't. What Bai Xuan described as "Supreme Detachment" was precisely the state of mind a civilization's leader ought to possess.
Queen Kesha had something similar — and it was a quality Hikari had always admired, then and now.
Unaffected by any emotion. Approaching civilization with absolute rationality.
Every action taken after full deliberation. Even when the unexpected arose, no regret — because it had already been anticipated.
Given all of that, why did something inside her instinctively resist the idea?
She didn't understand it herself.
Tenshi Zixin had no idea what was going through Hikari's mind. She heard Hikari's words, and nodded with quiet seriousness.
"I will."
"Hikari-jiejie — you've been fighting for over seven thousand years. You should find yourself someone who won't turn to dust, too."
Hikari's expression went stiff at that.
She'd like nothing more. But things like that were never so simple.
She shook her head and transferred a portion of the chat group's information along with some of Bai Xuan's background data to Tenshi Zixin. Zixin absorbed everything quickly.
A great platform connecting the myriad worlds. Spiritual energy, magic, chakra, supernatural abilities, Pokémon, Infinity Stones, the countless worlds beyond...
When the transfer finished, a thoroughly dazed expression settled over Zixin's young face.
None of this was actually a joke?
Though thinking about all the things they'd been researching lately — it did seem like it was all real.
The Bai Xuan her teacher had described possessed an ability called [Authority of Nature].
He carried the blessing of the planet's consciousness. Even if he did nothing at all, his ascension to godhood in the future was inevitable.
"The Transit Talisman doesn't last that long, but they're inexpensive — you can go back as many times as you want, for as long as you want."
"It's entirely up to you."
"Queen Kesha and the Celestial Base King value Bai Xuan's potential, but neither of them is insisting the two of you end up together."
"You need to grow, Zixin."
"Bearing witness to the countless things of this world, learning from them, arriving at new understanding — for an angel, that alone is no small gain."
"Have you really decided to send little Zixin over?"
Hexi sat with her legs crossed, her voice languid to the point of barely caring.
"What's the matter — wasn't that your wish to begin with?"
Sacred Kesha's tone was equally unhurried.
"As if you'd go yourself."
"A 99% compatibility for the Celestial Base King?"
"Wait wait wait — weren't we agreed not to bring that up?"
The previously relaxed Hexi went red at Kesha's words and cut in immediately.
"And your own compatibility is also 99%."
"You know perfectly well I gave up on all of that long ago."
Sacred Kesha said it plainly.
She had longed for and dreamed of love once, in another time. But experience after experience had pushed her to where she stood now.
Whether it was the ancient battles against Hua Ye, or the long years of leading the angel civilization to where it stood today.
There was simply too much she had to think about. Not enough room left to think about love.
And more than that — after everything she'd been through, her outlook had long since outgrown the heart of a young girl. Even if the right person appeared, she wouldn't truly consider it for herself.
"I actually rather envy you, you know."
"At your age — and you still yearn for love with this much feeling. You could almost call it innocent."
Something like a smile touched Kesha's face as she said it, the teasing plain.
"I — you — you—"
Hexi went red, wanting to argue but unable to find the words.
Because if she did, Kesha would bring up Sumali, and then she'd never hear the end of it.
This woman.
"Insufferable tomboy. You talk about my age — you're no different."
Hexi muttered under her breath.
"Old schemer."
Sacred Kesha shot back without missing a beat.
The two of them bickered for a while before Kesha waved a hand.
"Alright, enough of that."
"I'm still thinking about Hikari's situation."
"At over seven thousand years old, she deserves someone who won't turn to dust eventually. Growing up a little wouldn't hurt either."
"I still remember her face when I told her to practice restraint back then — those eyes of hers were full of indignation."
The memory surfaced, and a small smile crossed Kesha's lips despite herself.
"You really are something, you know. She's going to be the next Angel King — Queen Hikari. And you're perfectly fine with this."
"Before, at least there was the Galaxy Power to point to. Still young, still inexperienced — but with time, not impossible to grow into the role. Future god of the galaxy. He and Hikari weren't entirely mismatched."
"But now the gap has stretched considerably."
Hexi said it casually. She'd never had particularly strong feelings about the Galaxy Power — fully growing into his potential would take an extraordinarily long time. And under those circumstances, both he and Hikari bore responsibility to their respective civilizations.
Whether they would have genuinely fallen in love was an open question to begin with.
That was precisely why she'd always disliked Kesha using the Sacred Knowledge Treasury for compatibility matching. Without experiencing that flutter of the heart, without truly falling in love with someone — what was the point of a future like that?
And then there was Zixin. The thought alone made her chest ache.
Her most cherished disciple. The disciple she'd placed all her hopes in. And the first thing Zixin had done after escaping was go and follow through on the task Kesha had assigned her.
Not a single word to her own teacher about the situation with Zhao Xin.
Do you have any respect for me at all?!
You ungrateful child!
You're supposed to inherit my position someday! At the very least, find yourself a future chief god as your person!
"You're still thinking about something that hasn't even happened yet."
Sacred Kesha saw Hexi's expression and correctly deduced what was running through her mind. She shook her head with quiet amusement.
"Hmph!"
Hexi crossed her arms and turned her head away, refusing to acknowledge Kesha.
"If you dislike compatibility matching so much — why did you agree this time to send Zixin to Bai Xuan's world?"
"Because even if I didn't agree, you'd arrange it anyway."
Hexi pursed her lips.
"In her eyes, her teacher barely exists. It's all Queen Kesha this, Queen Kesha that."
"Be reasonable."
Kesha said it flatly, in no mood for the sulking tone.
"Compatible people like this are rare. What if someone else gets there first?"
"And I'm only sending her to watch over an unformed new god. Whether she can actually win him over depends entirely on her."
"Can you honestly tell me you don't have the idea of arranging Hikari for him too?"
Hexi rolled her eyes.
"I still do, as it happens."
Kesha smiled lightly.
"???"
Hexi stared at her, completely nonplussed. Do you know what you're saying?
"Two Sacred Guards — one is the future Angel King, the other is the future Celestial Base King — you're planning to send both of them?"
"I'm joking."
Kesha said with mild exasperation. She wasn't quite at the point of going to those lengths for one person.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack. I genuinely thought you were going to send both of them."
"Then I'd truly start wondering whether you'd set your own sights on Bai Xuan — and were cultivating him to become the next Angel King's consort."
