Synopsis
Zayed always believed he was different. Not special. Not chosen. Just… out of place. Until the night that refused to end. When reality finally breaks, it doesn’t lead him back to morning—but into a world that feels disturbingly familiar, yet completely wrong. Surrounded by people who don’t belong to his past, and confronted by someone he thought he had already lost, Zayed begins to realize— this isn’t coincidence. Something is moving beneath the surface. Something vast, unseen, and unforgiving. And the worst part? Zayed might not be a part of it… he might be the reason it started. As truths unravel and the world darkens with every answer, survival is no longer the goal. Transformation is. In a journey shaped by quiet dread, fractured reality, and choices that don’t offer redemption—only consequence— how far can one go before they stop being human? PS: “Is freedom achieved by shaping the world… or understanding it?”

Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: ‘her’

I was stuck in a bad dream, where I was getting killed by something in a black coat with a hood on.

I thought death in dreams would wake a person up. But I died. Came back, died again.

He was a psycho to be honest. He was killing me in the worst possible way. One time he just put a working chainsaw through my gut. Another time he knocked me out and when I came to again, my hands and legs were cut off. He was sharpening a big knife on a slate.

The last one got me awake in desperation to survive, somehow. Guess I feared getting a nail hammered into my finger more than getting my guts spilled out.

I wanted to see how else he could kill me. It felt... good.

A normal human, would have been breathing heavily and sweating because of the dream I just had. But I was not having any aftermath reaction. No fear or heaviness in my body. As if I was devoid of thought or I didn't feel anything. I felt a bit strange than I would feel normally.

I was not able to move myself. I think I am in a state between dream and reality. Never thought I would experience it.

I have always thought how it would feel being in this state. My hearing was numb, but I could hear all kind of voices outside and inside. I was able to see and move my eyes but the pain in my head was not helping me in focusing on what was going on.

The place around me felt dark and gloomy. It was dimly lit, the only source of light being the torches hung on the walls. The air was cold and damp in this cave-like room. It tasted bitter on my tongue.

It was rudely fashioned with pillars growing out of nowhere. There were black boxes thrown here and there. It was as if someone had thrown a tantrum.

The place was filled with people who were wearing long hungover coats, had large shoes and some of them even had cane sticks.

I always wanted to wear clothes like that and walk around with a cane stick in hand, like a king. But I don't think even he would wear those types of clothes in this era. They felt as if they were out of place.

Was this another dream or is it something that happens when you are out of sleep but still dreaming…

At least this was better than my present world. Full of boring work and studies. But I was starting to feel my body. I slowly started to move my fingers. Gotta wake up and go to college now.

My sight became fully clear, but I was still seeing the same thing. I rubbed my eyes and hit my temple twice. The place still remained. For a moment I thought I was stuck here. But the place was too real to be just my imagination.

This place…. " where am I ? " I asked myself out loud. I immediately put my hand on my mouth. I hoped they didn't hear me. They were too dangerous looking to have sympathy over a boy, who unknowingly found their….secret home by the looks of it.

Some did turn their head but they didn't appear to be staring at me. They were staring at something behind me.

I was suddenly breathing heavily. I wanted to know what was behind me. By the feel of it I guess it was a wooden door with heavy carvings made on it. Maybe they were looking at the doors for somebody who was going to come or they were afraid that someone might have found this place.

Even though they didn't seem to see me I was sure they would kill me if they found out I was here.

There were many things I wanted to do before I die. Not that I was afraid of dying here, but I wanted to talk to my mother once at least. I also had to delete photos from hidden gallery and I wanted to play the latest sequel of my favorite game. More than anything I wanted to find my friends who have gone missing since last six months.

Strange how humans change when they feel they are about to die. But when I touched my heart, for reassurance, I didn't feel any fear or warmth there. It was cold, colder than I expected. But I wanted to live long.

I carefully moved my eyes around. Most of the people were middle-aged, while some were old looking too but they didn't seem to be behaving like old people. They seemed to give young vibes despite the looks.

There were hundreds of people packed in this cave like room. Even if I had a grenade-launcher I wouldn't be able to kill all of them and escape.

There were also some young humans. They seemed to be about my age. Some were older. There were a lot of them in here. They were dressed in modern fashion unlike others.

It was an unsettling thought on why they could be here. They didn't seem to be kidnapped or anything like that. They were talking with others in a friendly manner.

My eyes caught a girl who was wickedly beautiful. She had a heavy resemblance to a girl I once knew. It had been a year now since I last saw her.

My heart started beating loud and clear suddenly. It did not beat when it should have. Can't even control my own heart.

She had hip length hair, which was tied back in a pony tail. Her face was in almost circle shaped. Like a moon but in velvet red. She seemed to have pouty eyes.

In this dimly lit room, I wasn't able to see her fully.

It was intoxicating for me, considering I was surrounded by dangerous looking unknown people.

With her way of talking, I think she must be the leader's daughter or something like that. I could sneak my way close to her and take her hostage. But how would I move closer to her without making every person here noticing me. the place was too densely packed to move quietly and freely.

Nah, bad idea. I am safer as I am. No need to go calling my doom. But I have to escape..

While I was busy thinking of a way of escaping from here, she suddenly looked towards me. I thought she was going to look ahead like others but her eyes were staring at me….as if she knew I was here all the time.

Did she see me? she didn't act as if she did or maybe she is just processing what she is seeing now.

She told something to an old man she was talking to and moved out of their conversation. She was coming right towards me.

fuck, fuck, fuck! She saw me, but wait. This could play right into my hand. I tried to find a rock or something sharp around me.

As she moved closer her face became clearer.

She had a light brown skin color and green eyes.

She came and stood a meter in front of me, her eyebrow raised looking at the rock I was holding.

Her lips had a cupid bow gap on her upper lip. They were a bit apart as if she was about to speak.

She noticed where I was looking and frowned at me tauntingly.

My breath hitched... as if my body felt it before I saw it.

It shouldn't be possible but, her face. that expression, all of it were the same as hers.
