Chapter 19 - A Prank Gone Awry: An Unexpected Return and a Most Embarrassing Sight

"Thank you for deigning to forgive me, Miss Lin." Fang Yu forced a strained, lopsided smile, every fiber of his being screaming to vanish into a rat hole in the ground. Never in his life had he been subjected to such petty, humiliating torment.

"Mm, I suppose I can forgive you. That said, I'm rather famished at the moment, so you'll run along and fetch me something to eat." As she spoke, Lin Ruofei turned her head, shooting a mischievous, conspiratorial wink at Yan Ting beside her.

"Very well. What would you like?" Fang Yu shook his head silently in helpless exasperation, concluding that waiting on women was truly a task fit for no mortal man.

"I want…" Lin Ruofei rattled off a lengthy list of items in a single breath, most of which Fang Yu had never even heard of, yet he committed every single one to memory all the same.

"I'll go at once." The moment Lin Ruofei finished reciting her list, Fang Yu turned and sprinted straight out the door.

Watching Fang Yu dash off like an earnest fool to fetch their snacks, Yan Ting turned to the giggling Lin Ruofei beside her and said with an amused laugh, "I always thought I was devious enough, but Lin Ruofei, you're even more ruthless than I am."

A twinge of sympathy for Fang Yu tugged at her chest even as she spoke. There was not a single convenience store anywhere near the villa, after all. The nearest one was a full ten kilometers away, and there was not a vehicle to be found for miles around. What's more, Fang Yu was a complete stranger to this area, with no knowledge of the local roads. How on earth was he ever supposed to track down the items they'd asked for?

"Hehe, the man needed to be taught a lesson. Who told him not to lock the door when he showered?" Lin Ruofei giggled in reply.

At her lame, self-serving excuse, Yan Ting could not help but tease her. "And who told you to fling the door open without knocking first? You're the one who saw him naked, and he hasn't breathed a single word of complaint about it."

"Er…" At Yan Ting's words, Lin Ruofei let out a squawk of mock indignation and pinned Yan Ting to the floor in an instant, laughing as she did so. "Take that for teasing me!"

The two girls tussled and rolled around on the floor in a fit of giggles, their clothes growing more and more disheveled in the scuffle, sending fleeting flashes of skin peeking through now and then. With only the two of them in the apartment, they cared not a whit for modesty, growing bolder and more unbridled with every passing second.

Then, all at once, the front door of the apartment—which they had thought firmly shut—was suddenly wrenched open. Fang Yu stepped inside, and his eyes fell straight on the two young women tussling on the floor, every flash of exposed skin laid bare to his unobstructed gaze.

Well, well. Who would have thought both our young mistresses wore Mickey Mouse underwear? They've still got the hearts of little girls at their core, it seems. Fang Yu snickered silently to himself, even as his face schooled itself into a perfectly upright, gentlemanly expression, giving away nothing of his inner thoughts.

Frozen rigid by the sudden intrusion, Yan Ting and Lin Ruofei's tussle ground to an abrupt halt. They stared at Fang Yu, who had materialized out of nowhere, in stunned, dumbfounded silence for what felt like an eternity.

"You—how did you come back?" Yan Ting was the first to shake off her stupor. She scrambled to her feet at once, fumbling frantically to straighten her rumpled clothes, and stared at Fang Yu, her face etched with flustered panic.

Lin Ruofei, by contrast, remained splayed on the floor in a sinuous, utterly feminine pose, a vast expanse of milky-white skin bared across her full, ample bosom for all to see.

"I forgot my money." Fang Yu's gaze darted briefly to the deep valley between Lin Ruofei's breasts, and he swallowed hard in spite of himself, before turning back to Yan Ting and replying casually, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened at all.
