Alex stared at the empty champagne flute, the sticky lip gloss ring on the rim a testament to the chaos that had transpired the night before. Jamie, her now-husband, was passed out beside her, snoring softly with a goofy grin plastered on his face.
How did they get here?
The memories were fuzzy, but bits and pieces started coming back. The beach, the sun setting over the ocean, a few too many tequila shots... and then a blurry Elvis impersonator asking, "Do you take this guy to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
Yep, they definitely did that.
Alex groaned, rubbing her temples. This was not how she'd envisioned her wedding day. No white dress, no family, no planning... just a beach, a bottle of tequila, and a questionable life decision.
As she tried to sneak out of the hotel room, her phone buzzed. It was Mia, her best friend and confidant.
"CONGRATULATIONS, NEWLYWED!" Mia's text read, followed by a warray of laughing emojis.
