Chapter 8: The Final Battle
Before Ayan could process everything, the enemies found them again.
This time, there was no escape.
Gunshots echoed. The building shook.
Ayan and Naira fought together, protecting each other, refusing to give up.
"You have to leave!" Naira shouted.
"I'm not leaving you!"
"You have to! This is your path!"
One of the attackers aimed at Ayan.
Without thinking—
Naira stepped in front of him.
The sound of the shot echoed.
Time seemed to stop.
She fell into his arms.
"No… no, no, no…" Ayan whispered, his voice breaking.
Naira smiled weakly.
"It's okay… this is how it was meant to be."
"Don't say that! Stay with me!"
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
"You'll find me again," she whispered. "In another time… another moment…"
Her hand slowly slipped from his.
And she was gone.
