Ceasar smug, having achieving what he wanted. 'This would be an easy win',he thought 'I'll make sure to wipe that cocky attitude off him'
The crowd dispersed to the corner as someone conjured up a stone platform. Some people who knew House Nephastus, gave Kyle worried looks, while those who didn't were eager to see what would happen.
Ceasar claimed onto the stage, he stretched his hand and crimson blood spear formed in it, fire surrounded the spear, giving off a malicious aura.
Ceasar frowned when he saw Kyle looked unimpressed by it.
Kyle leaped to the other side of the platform. He gave off a cold and indifference presence, acting like the duel was another sparring session. He didn't bother manifesting any sort of weapon but instead gestured at Ceasar to attack. Ceasar felt offended by Kyle's aloof attitude.
He launched himself at Kyle, aiming for a feint. He had to change his tactics when Kyle pushed him to defence. He slashed straight, trying to keep Kyle at bay. Kyle parried the attack with his left hand, landing a solid hit to Ceasar's chest with his right fist.
Pushed back, Ceasar pivoted himself with his spear to dodge another attack.
"You were all talk a minute ago, now you aren't even able to put up a fight" Kyle said, his words cutting into Ceasar.
'looks like he's an emitter that can only enhance his physical prowess.
"I was planning on holding back a bit, but it seems like you need a proper beating" Ceasar said, the mana around fluctuate, forming a thick armour around him, the intensity of the fire increased.
He sped towards Kyle, the mana increased his speed significantly. Ceasar ducked out of the way, an ice spear crashing down where he had been.
He was perplexed, he had thought Kyle was an emitter. His thoughts were interrupted when another ice spear landed where he was.
Ceasar raised his head as he dodged couple of ice spear, numerous ice spears were formed and launched instantly above Kyle as he stood there unaffected from the strain of expending too much mana at once.
"What's wrong, I thought you said you were going to beat me" Kyle mocked him
Silvia had left Kyle, and was heading back. "Hey Silv, did you felt that?" Sophie said, sitting on her shoulder.
"It's the same feeling from earlier when you told me we were being watched" Silva responded "there's more to Kyle that meets the eye"
Silvia bent off into a corner, in between two buildings, meeting Olivia.
"What a nice surprise to find you here, I'll was coming to meet you." Silvia said
"I've been looking everywhere for you, where have you been"
"I thought you were having a class so I decided to take a stroll when I saw your cousin"
"Really, where is he" looking over Silvia's shoulder to see if he was there."
"He said he was lost so I dropped him off at the exam hall. If you want I can excort you there"
"Sure, I was heading there myself. They should be done by now"
Silvia and Olivia talked about Kyle as they walked to the hall. There was deafening sound coming from the hall. The giant wooden doors broke free from their hinges as it sped towards them, slamming into the opposite building.
Olivia and Silvia increased their pace to a sprint, running at full speed. Silvia increased their speed by conjuring a gale of wind
Duncan and Cerci talked about the times they spent together as a party when they're on their quest to defeat the demon lord.
Duncan told her about how he became the headmaster of this institution after the war, to fulfill a promise he made. Cerci also told him about how she had settled down to live a secluded life in the forest of Veldia to disrupt any advances from the demon lord.
One second they where talking, the other a high pitched sound rang, causing the glass from the windows to shatter.
The building shook as something slammed into it. Looking out the broken windows, Cerci saw Olivia and an elf running towards the building where the sound had come from. Cerci looked to see if Duncan was hurt, seeing he was alright as his gaze fell on the building. Without uttering a word, both jumped through the broken window and took to the hall
Caesar kept dodging, deflecting or destroying the ice spears. He had minimized his mana output so he would strike when Kyle was worn out. As time passed and the never-ending barrage of attacks increased, he saw that he would be long overwhelmed before Kyle would exhaust his mana.
Ceasar evaded an ice spear, channeling the rest of his mana reserve to his spear, he prepared for a final attack. Kyle saw what he wanted to do, conjured an ice sword and darted to him, planning to end this duel.
They met at the middle of the stage. His sword and Ceasar spear clashed, the next thing that was seen was a white blinding that enveloped the hall, cracks surfaced on the walls, deafening sound traveled with the force of the impact, breaking the windows and sending the front door flying.
As dust settled, Cearsa is seen kneeling down, he draws in a labored breath as he raises his head to see Kyle unfazed by it.
Ice spears scattered around them. He turns to see his spear lay broken.
There was no mana left in him so he couldn't amend it. The bystanders had been sent flying from the impact, those who were nearer to the stage where either unconscious or heavily wounded. Those at the far back only sustained some minor bruises. Kyle looks down at him.
