Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Hunter's Dissection Room

Little Six's footsteps, however, did not move.

She seemed to be hesitating.

Seeing this, Mono couldn't help but stop.

"Hey, I say, you're not scared, are you?"

Little Six did not reply.

Seeing this, Mono continued, "Don't worry, I've seen that monster. He's blind; he won't be able to find us."

Hearing this, Little Six finally snapped out of it slightly.

However, no look of relief appeared on her face; she simply nodded silently and started walking.

The two of them walked through the open gate.

Working together again, they pushed a crate and climbed through a partition window inside the door.

As soon as they landed, Mono heard the sound of teeth grinding.

"Zizizi~"

"Sississis~"

It sounded like something being torn apart.

It sounded somewhat sluggish, yet it was laced with explosive force.

Mono couldn't help but get goosebumps.

Little Six's expression also turned somewhat grim.

Clearly, she realized what that sound represented.

Mono suppressed the discomfort in his heart.

"Keep it down~" he whispered to Little Six.

Little Six didn't speak, only nodded.

She certainly wouldn't be foolish enough to make any noise here.

The two stepped over the threshold and peeked past the doorframe, finally seeing the source of the sound.

Inside the room, a massive silhouette was standing before a workbench.

The figure's back was to them, his body and head covered in thick rags, his hands constantly fiddling with something on the Table.

As he moved, the sounds of tearing and pulling echoed continuously.

An unknown liquid dripped steadily from the corner of the Table.

Mono looked up at the ceiling and saw countless hooks hanging from the rafters.

On those hooks hung countless skins—some from animals, some... they were packed densely, covering a vast area.

Mono swallowed hard.

Beside him, Little Six's body also couldn't help but stiffen.

Everything before him was truly an eye-opener for Mono.

Gory, dark, chaotic, and cruel—he had never experienced an atmosphere so somber and devoid of light.

However, his strong mental fortitude allowed him to quickly adjust his mindset.

He noticed Little Six's state.

This Little Girl, who had always acted indifferent, seemed to be frightened now.

But then again, it seemed she hadn't begun to change yet; she wasn't yet that completely cold and ruthless Six.

Mono tugged at her hand and made a gesture.

Little Six snapped back to reality and nodded.

The two understood each other perfectly and slowly crept past the Hunter's back along the shadowed corners.

As they got closer, the smell of blood reaching their noses became even more pungent.

It was nauseating.

Fortunately, the Hunter seemed exceptionally focused on his work and didn't notice that two uninvited guests had entered his room.

Soon, Mono and Little Six made their way to the other end of the room.

The door was locked tight.

Mono glanced around and saw a key hanging from the Hunter's waist.

"This is trouble."

Mono felt this was tricky.

The Hunter was much taller than them; trying to steal the key stealthily and open the door without being noticed was almost impossible.

Recalling his gaming experience, he began to scout the perimeter of the room.

His gaze swept across the area, and he soon discovered a wooden trapdoor used for throwing out trash.

"Hey, over here!"

Mono pointed at the wooden door and signaled to Little Six.

Little Six understood instantly and tiptoed over.

Both of them pressed their hands against the wooden door, exerting all their strength without making a sound.

The wooden door opened upwards; with their combined effort, a gap was slowly pulled open.

As the gap widened and the opening angle reached its limit, the small door suddenly swung outwards in an instant.

The two who had been pushing with all their might tumbled outwards uncontrollably.

"Bang!" Their bodies fell outside along the open door panel.

"Clatter!" Pulled back by gravity, the wooden door slammed heavily against the wall.

Meanwhile, Mono and Little Six continued to slide down the trash heap.

The massive noise immediately triggered a roar.

Heavy and rapid footsteps echoed from inside the house.

"Damn it, I knew it."

Mono had already anticipated this.

The moment he slid to the bottom of the trash heap, he started running.

"Run!" he shouted loudly at Little Six.

Little Six also scrambled to her feet.

However, before she could take two steps, she was tripped by something.

Looking down, it was a rotting arm.

Little Six tried to get back up.

But behind her, with a "Bang!", the door was suddenly flung open.

A massive figure appeared before her.

Facing this familiar figure again filled Little Six with an inexplicable panic.

The Hunter stood three meters tall; to her, whose body size was only a dozen or so centimeters, he was like a giant beast.

With a massive Double-barreled Shotgun in his hand and a lantern, he radiated a ferocious aura.

The Hunter reached forward with the lantern in his left hand, the blinding light shining directly on Little Six, forcing her to close her eyes.

"Roar~"

Having found his target, the Hunter let out a strange, guttural grunt, sounding neither human nor beast.

Then, moving swiftly, he raised the Double-barreled Shotgun with one hand and pointed it at Little Six.

"Click!"

The chamber was instantly loaded.

"Boom!"

Sparks flew, and a massive roar accompanied by the pungent smell of gunpowder erupted from the Hunter's hand.

Little Six had just opened her eyes when she saw this.

She wanted to dodge, but it seemed she didn't have enough time to move her feet.

However, just as she thought she would be blasted into a pile of mangled flesh by the massive muzzle, her right hand was suddenly grabbed.

Then, a massive force pulled from her hand.

Her body was yanked out of its paralysis, moving away from the spot.

"Boom!"

A projectile nearly the size of a head struck the ground directly, blasting a deep crater.

Dirt splattered everywhere, and thick smoke rose from the pit.

Mono was startled by the power of the Double-barreled Shotgun.

This was no gun; it was practically a mortar.

One shot from this, and wouldn't one be instantly reduced to dust?

Thinking about how he had actually run back and taken such a huge risk, Mono couldn't help but curse immediately:

"You Stinky Girl, weren't you quite capable before? Why are you dazing off at a critical moment? Do you want to die? What an idiot!"
