Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Not an idiot

Standing on the windowsill, a plank extended outward from the restroom window, leading to a room on the opposite side.

Mono dragged the hammer and slowly moved toward the other side.

Standing atop the plank, he glanced down and saw a Ceramic Figurine trapped below.

Below the plank was a Sealing garbage pit.

The trapped Ceramic Figurine was holding a metal object and playing with something.

Mono took a careful look and, finding that the Ceramic Figurine wasn't playing with anything strange—it was a frog—he breathed a sigh of relief.

He had truly had enough of these Ceramic Figurines' perverted hobbies.

Crossing the plank, the two successfully reached the second floor of the building opposite them.

Inside the second-floor room sat a massive piano.

Aside from that, there were no other decorations.

It was very sparse and very clean.

Mono walked to the door and found that the room's main door was locked.

He turned his head to look around again.

Mono's gaze landed on the piano.

He saw that the massive piano was tied with a suspension rope.

The hanging rope went up, passed through a set of pulleys at the top, and then pulled back, leading to a wheel on a pillar.

Mono looked at the Sealing room again and understood in an instant.

Without a word, he walked over to the wheel by the pillar.

Without much effort, he easily began to turn the wheel.

The thin rope tied to the piano slowly tightened as the wheel turned, and then the massive piano gradually rose upward.

However, this didn't mean Mono's strength had increased.

Anyone who has studied pulleys knows that as long as a pulley block is installed on the rope, the total weight of the heavy object and the movable pulleys is shared by the number of rope strands; the force used to lift the weight is 1/n of the total weight.

And the force on the wheel Mono was currently turning was only one-twentieth.

"Hey, stay away from there!"

As the piano was lifted off the ground, Mono turned and shouted to Six.

The room's door was currently locked.

There were no ventilation windows leading outside.

If they wanted to leave, they could only smash through the floor.

Given the piano's weight, a simple free-fall would easily break through the wooden floor.

Six silently stepped aside, watching the slowly rising piano with a puzzled look.

She could never guess the crazy ideas her friend came up with.

However, once the piano was hoisted to the highest point and Mono let go...

"Whirrrr!"

The rope instantly lost its opposing traction.'

Pulled by the force of gravity, the massive piano plummeted straight toward the ground.

"Boom!"

The next moment, a tremendous crash echoed, mingled with the discordant twang of snapping strings, kicking up clouds of dust from the floorboards.

The floor was partially smashed through, and the piano became lodged in the middle of the opening.

Seeing this, Six finally understood Mono's plan.

She blinked her eyes and glanced at Mono.

Seeing the piano stuck, Mono tried turning the winch again, pulling upward in an attempt to repeat the maneuver.

But after straining for a moment, he found it wouldn't budge.

"Hey, what are you doing over there? Come help me already!"

Mono's voice called out.

Hearing him, Six scampered over on her bare feet, reached around Mono from behind, and placed her hands on the winch.

"Put your back into it~"

Mono instructed.

As told, Six gripped the winch handle tightly, leaning her body back slightly.

"Crack~"

The next moment, the two of them tumbled to the ground.

The winch, unable to bear the strain, snapped clean off.

Both of them fell flat on the floor.

Mono scrambled to his feet, looked at the broken handle still clutched in Six's hand, and facepalmed:

"When I said put your back into it, I didn't mean break it! idiot."

Six also got up, gave Mono a puzzled look, then replied flatly:

"It's because Mono couldn't pull it that he called for my help..."

"Still talking back?" Mono glared at her. "An idiot is just an idiot. Come here, quick."

Mono turned and walked over to the piano, now wedged in the middle of the floor.

Six watched his retreating back, clenched her small fists, hesitated for two seconds, then followed.

She was not... an idiot.

Mono jumped directly onto the top of the piano.

Six's figure followed close behind.

Mono grabbed her hand. "Jump with me!"

Their small bodies leaped together, landing once more on the piano's top.

"Crack~"

Jolted by the impact of their combined weight, the piano, previously stuck in the floor, shifted slightly downward.

They repeated this a few more times.

"Boom!"

Finally, the piano gave way, crashing through the wooden floorboards and plummeting down through the hole it had created.
