Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 – The Second Level’s Hidden Trap

After breakfast, Sean brought Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle toward the Transfiguration classroom.

This time, unlike the first lesson, nobody dared make jokes about the cat sitting on Professor McGonagall's desk. The moment students entered, they obediently found their seats.

Even Ron Weasley, who had arrived unusually early, honestly sat down without causing trouble.

Still, the atmosphere inside the classroom remained tense.

The Gryffindors constantly glared toward the Slytherin side with burning hostility over yesterday's disciplinary incident.

Naturally, Malfoy and the others glared back without hesitation.

The entire classroom smelled like gunpowder waiting for a spark.

Professor McGonagall calmly looked around before beginning the lesson.

"Good morning, class. Today we will continue studying the principles of Transfiguration—"

"Professor McGonagall!"

Hermione suddenly raised her hand.

"We'd like to report the results of yesterday's investigation into the Marauders first."

McGonagall's expression instantly became helpless.

"Of course, Miss Granger," she sighed. "Go ahead."

Hermione immediately stood up proudly.

Taking a deep breath, she began speaking clearly:

"The Marauders were a small secret group made up of four people."

The classroom instantly quieted.

"Their nicknames were Prongs, Wormtail, Moony, and Padfoot."

Then Hermione raised her chin slightly.

"Prongs was James Potter."

The classroom exploded instantly.

"What?!"

"Potter?"

"Harry's father?!"

Hermione frowned irritably when someone interrupted.

"Yes," she said quickly. "James Potter was Harry Potter's father."

Then she continued confidently:

"Wormtail was Peter Pettigrew, Moony was Remus Lupin, and Padfoot was Sirius Black."

Sean's eyes narrowed slightly.

Hermione, meanwhile, continued speaking proudly.

"Two members of the group are confirmed dead. One is imprisoned in Azkaban, and the final member remains missing."

The classroom became even quieter.

"That's why Professor McGonagall doesn't like discussing them openly."

Then Hermione delivered her biggest conclusion.

"And all four of them were Animagi."

The classroom erupted again.

"What?!"

"All four?!"

"Animagus transformation is one of the highest forms of Transfiguration!"

"It's incredibly dangerous!"

"I've only ever seen Professor McGonagall do it before!"

Several students looked completely stunned.

Hermione clearly enjoyed the reaction.

Then she turned toward Sean proudly.

"Was my research correct, Sean?"

Sean slowly began applauding.

"If I were the professor," he said seriously, "I'd give Gryffindor eight points."

The rest of the class immediately joined the applause.

Most students didn't even notice Sean had specifically said eight instead of ten.

After all, Hermione had technically made two mistakes.

Only three Marauders had been Animagi.

Remus Lupin was a werewolf.

And more importantly—

One of the supposedly dead Marauders had very recently exploded into pieces.

Still, Sean wisely kept that information to himself.

Once the applause quieted down, Professor McGonagall smiled faintly.

"Mr Sebastian cannot award points," she said calmly, "but I certainly can."

Then she announced:

"Ten points to Gryffindor."

The Gryffindors immediately looked like victorious swans.

Several proudly stared toward Slytherin.

Malfoy snorted disdainfully.

"What's there to be proud of? Sean just couldn't be bothered investigating properly."

Ron instantly fired back.

"Then why don't you investigate it yourself, Malfoy?"

Malfoy sneered coldly.

"I will, Weasley."

The lesson ended beneath a silent war between Gryffindor and Slytherin.

.....

There were still more than five hours remaining before afternoon classes.

The moment Sean returned to the dormitory, he immediately entered the training room again.

This time, however, he didn't rush toward the second level immediately.

Yesterday's rewards still hadn't been properly examined.

"System," Sean said calmly, "claim rewards."

The system response appeared instantly.

[Congratulations. Total magical power increased by 100%.]

The next moment—

Sean's body violently trembled.

A terrifying surge of magic erupted inside him like a raging tidal wave.

It felt as though an entire ocean had suddenly appeared inside his veins.

Sean's face instantly turned pale.

Sweat covered his forehead.

His fists clenched tightly as the overflowing magic rampaged wildly through his body.

"Control it…"

Sean gritted his teeth painfully.

"Get under control!"

Just as Sean felt his body nearing collapse, another mysterious force suddenly appeared around the violent magic.

The chaotic magical power instantly became obedient.

Like an angry beast forced into submission.

The enormous wave of magic quickly calmed and slowly settled throughout Sean's body.

Sean exhaled heavily.

Only then did the second reward appear.

[Congratulations. Obtained: King Arthur Sword Wand.]

A silver sword instantly materialised before him.

The moment Sean grabbed the weapon, he immediately understood why it was called both a sword and a wand.

Because the sword's hilt could separate.

With a soft click, Sean pulled the handle free.

Inside was a beautiful silver wand covered in mysterious ancient patterns he couldn't understand.

But Sean's eyes instantly brightened for a completely different reason.

There were no magical restrictions on it.

Every student wand purchased through Ollivanders contained Ministry tracing enchantments.

Those restrictions allowed the Ministry to monitor where and when underage magic was used.

Which made many of Sean's plans incredibly inconvenient.

Even buying additional wands secretly wouldn't help.

All official wands carried traces.

But this one—

Didn't.

"With this," Sean murmured softly, "I finally have freedom."

Then his eyes darkened slightly.

"Now all I need is to retrieve that item."

Sean already had a rough plan forming in his mind.

"But I'll still need Harry first."

Specifically—

Harry's invisibility cloak.

Once he borrowed that, many of Sean's future plans could officially begin.

Still, before attempting anything dangerous, he needed to prepare thoroughly.

Sean slowly stood up.

"System."

His expression became serious.

"I want to challenge the second level."

Several system prompts immediately appeared.

[Warning: The second level greatly exceeds the Host's current capabilities.]

[Please avoid excessive immersion to prevent mental damage.]

[Notice: The second level serves as the narrative foundation for the third-level scenario.]

[The Host's actions during the second level will directly influence the third-level world state.]

Sean's eyes narrowed slightly.

More prompts followed.

[The second level supports cooperative clearing.]

[All cooperating participants must first clear Level One.]

[After completing the scenario, the Host may choose whether or not to submit the mission.]

[Please choose carefully.]

Finally—

[Open Level Two?]

Sean stared at the notifications blankly.

"…Why does this suddenly sound so complicated?"
