Chapter 4 - The First Paid Simulation

[Do you wish to start a paid simulation?]

"Damn, it's as if the life simulator itself is tempting me…" Adam thought, suppressing the urge. After a short while, he finally gritted his teeth.

"I'm sorry for doing this, babe, but I can't help it."

With that, he muttered, "yes" internally.

[Please note that the next paid simulation will cost double the price.]

Adam drew in a sharp breath.

"That means that the next simulation will cost two low-grade mana stones. Then what about the one after that? Why's the system being so stringent? Perhaps it has an upgrade? A way to upgrade my ability…" Adam's thoughts trailed off as he returned his gaze back to the pale blue luminescent screen.

[Please choose a talent from the drawn talent pool]

[1. Researcher (White Talent): Your love for gossip is slightly higher than the average person.]

[2. Master of All (White Talent): You are the master of all, and possess an aura which draws subordinates to you.]

[3. Gun Expert (White Talent): With more precision than an average human, you can wield guns with terrifying expertise.]

[4. Blood Curse (Red Talent): Upon being slightly grazed by a metallic object, you die.]

[5. Arm Grip (White Talent): Enhances the grip of your arm strength.]

"Damn!" Adam cursed silently in his heart.

A Red Talent!

He had drawn a Red Talent!

Why did it have to be so deadly? Even if it had some sort of side effects, he would have still chosen it.

However, with a reluctant heart, Adam moved his gaze from the talent and focused on the other talents.

"Arm Grip was drawn again?" he noticed, but quickly shook his head, "I'm still not choosing it no matter how many times it shows up! At least unless it isn't the most useful talent among the list."

"Speaking of which, why are there five talents drawn this time? Does it mean that the number of talents isn't fixed? Or could it be because I did a paid simulation?"

Unable to come to a reason, Adam decided to leave it for later when he does another life simulation. He read through the description of the talents again. The first talent was pretty useless as it didn't give him a combat ability.

"The tough decision is between Gun Expert and Master of All. Both White Talents seem strong. Besides, in my simulation this time, I plan to explore more of the world. However, if I choose to explore more of the world, isn't it better to choose Master of All?"

Adam felt a headache. He soon made a decision after a long while.

"System, I choose the White Talent—Master of All."

Since this talent could bring him subordinates, perhaps he could use them as a means to gain protection. Besides, what if the world he transmigrated into doesn't support guns?

Adam was being cautious of everything. He watched as the screen flashed with a bright light, then a new line of words appeared in his sight.

[Please choose the alternate world you wish to simulate.]

[1. Xianxia Realm]

[2. Ultra Fantasy]

[3. Underworld]

[4. Realm of the Forgotten]

[5. High-Tech World]

[6. Ancient Immortal Realm]

[7. Dream Dimension]

"The same worlds as last time?" Adam immediately noticed. "Perhaps these are the only worlds available to me for now, at least until I upgrade the system."

Adam stared at the seven worlds displayed, his heart pounding with anticipation. He completely ruled out the Ultra Fantasy world…

"There is definitely something terribly wrong with that world!"

His gaze trailed down and then fell on the Ancient Immortal Realm, the Xianxia Realm, and the Realm of the Forgotten.

The last one sounded as though it was a place of doom and destruction where gods had been exiled to, so the choice fell onto the remaining two decisions.

After a long while, he made a decision.

"System, I choose the Ancient Immortal Realm."

After making his decision and seeing that the system had turned blank, Adam immediately sat up, his gaze solemn. What would this simulation be about? Would he be able to live past 5 years?

Adam didn't know the answer. He could only stare nervously at the screen which gradually began displaying a line of words.

[Year 0: You were born into a royal family. You were very lucky; this was a great family filled with immortal cultivators, and they discovered your talent was good.]

[When you were born, your aunt entered and gave you a strange look. You thought it looked seductive, but your mind wasn't fully on her.]

[Year 1: You were tested for your immortal talent, and it was shown that you possess a very high talent for immortal cultivation. This was a world where people absorb immortal essence and tread the immortal path to become immortals, so you were very excited upon hearing the news.]

[Year 2: As time passed, you noticed that your aunt, the maids, and even your sister usually give you a strange look. You were worried and thought you will die early, like the last time. Helpless, you could only let them do whatever they wish.]

[Year 5: You have gradually grown, constantly telling your parents that you want to start cultivating, but they said it isn't possible until you are sixteen years. You frown and decided to just continue with the light sword training you have been doing.]

Upon reaching this part, Adam held his breath, "What could my aunt, sister, and even the maids be planning?" He was slightly worried that he wouldn't live past the age of five.

He glanced nervously and realized that the life simulator was still loading information. Exhaling lightly, he continued.

[Year 6: You were ambushed in your sleep. However, your aunt, who had always been watching you, interrupted their ploy and killed them. She watched you in your unconscious state and muttered that she has been feeling lonely for a long time now, and you should quickly grow to a man.]

[You didn't know anything about the assassination, and your parents didn't bother to reveal it to you. However, after that day, you noticed that they became strict with your movements, and there was always a guard watching you.]

[Year 7: It's been a year since your assassination. You have become stronger than an average child due to the food you eat, which is usually enhanced by immortal essence.]

[Year 16: You finally become a man according to the standard of the immortal world. That night, your aunt pounced on you, and the night was restless. You didn't know it was the White Talent, Master of All, that had been acting up all this while…]

"Damn!" Adam read the line of words and cursed silently in his heart. He didn't expect the talent which seemed so harmless to be so perverted…

"Then the maids who had been casting me strange looks… and my sister… damn!"
