Chapter 1 - Battle Between Realms

CHAPTER ONE(1):The Day the Sky Broke

The sky did not crack all at once.

At first, it whispered.

A low hum spread across the heavens, so faint that most of humanity ignored it. Birds fell silent mid-flight. The wind stilled. Even the oceans seemed to hesitate, as though the world itself was holding its breath.

Then the light came.

A blinding streak tore across the sky, brighter than the sun, carving a wound through the clouds. It did not fade. It burned—growing wider, deeper—until the heavens themselves seemed to split open.

Lyra saw it first.

She stood on the edge of a quiet hill overlooking her village, the grass brushing against her ankles as the air trembled around her. Her heart pounded, though she didn't know why. Something inside her—something ancient and unspoken—stirred.

"That's not a storm…" she whispered.

The sky answered.

With a sound like the tearing of reality itself, the golden light exploded outward. From the fracture descended figures of radiant brilliance—winged beings clad in armor that shimmered like living sunlight.

Angels.

They did not fall. They arrived.

Behind them, the clouds twisted, blackened, and burned. The light dimmed, swallowed by a growing darkness that churned like a living thing. From the depths of that shadow came another force—vast, terrifying, and unstoppable.

Fire rained from the sky.

The ground shook violently as a massive shape crashed into the distant mountains, sending shockwaves through the earth. Flames erupted, and from them rose creatures of nightmare—horned, towering, their bodies forged from shadow and molten fury.

Demons.

Lyra staggered back, her breath caught in her throat. This wasn't possible. This wasn't real.

But the screams from the village below said otherwise.

"Run!" someone shouted in the distance.

Chaos erupted.

The angels surged forward in a wave of golden light, their wings cutting through the air like blades. The demons answered with a roar that shook the heavens, charging upward in a storm of fire and ash. When they collided, the world trembled.

Light met darkness.

Heaven met Hell.

And Earth… was caught between them.

A shockwave blasted across the land, flattening trees and hurling Lyra to the ground. Pain shot through her body as she struggled to rise, her ears ringing, her vision blurred by dust and light.

Above her, the battle raged.

Blades of pure light clashed against weapons forged in flame. The sky burned gold and crimson as the two armies tore into each other with unimaginable force. Every strike sent ripples through the air. Every cry echoed like thunder.

And then—

Something changed.

Lyra felt it before she saw it.

A surge of energy pulsed through her veins, hot and cold at once. Her chest tightened as if something inside her was trying to break free. The ground beneath her feet began to glow faintly, responding to her presence.

"No…" she gasped, clutching her chest.

The energy grew stronger.

Above, one of the angels turned.

Its glowing eyes locked onto her.

Not the battlefield.

Not the demons.

Her.

At the same moment, a massive demon—larger than the rest, its body wreathed in black fire—paused mid-charge. Slowly, it turned its burning gaze downward.

Toward Lyra.

Two enemies.

One target.

Her.

Fear gripped her сердце—but something deeper rose beneath it.

Power.

The air around her crackled as light and shadow twisted together, spiraling into her hands. She stared at them in horror as they began to glow—one hand blazing with golden radiance, the other consumed by dark flame.

"I… what is happening to me?"

The answer came not in words—

But in war.

With a deafening roar, both the angel and the demon launched toward her at the same time.

Lyra's eyes widened.

And the world exploded into light.

The light swallowed everything.

For a single, endless moment, there was no sky, no ground—no battle. Only blinding radiance and roaring darkness, colliding in a storm that should not exist.

Lyra screamed.

The power inside her surged violently, tearing through her like a storm unleashed. Her body lifted from the ground, suspended between two forces that refused to let go.

"ENOUGH!"

The word didn't come from her lips.

It came from within.

A shockwave erupted outward.

Golden light and crimson fire exploded from Lyra's body, slamming into both the descending angel and the charging demon. The impact froze them mid-air, as if time itself had fractured.

For the first time—

The war paused.

Every angel. Every demon. Every soldier below.

They all turned.

Toward her.

Lyra hovered above the shattered earth, her eyes blazing—one glowing gold, the other burning red. The sky behind her twisted, as if reality itself could not decide what she was.

A whisper spread across the battlefield.

Not spoken.

Felt.

The Balance…

The angel nearest to her lowered its weapon slightly, its radiant wings faltering.

"The prophecy…" it said, its voice echoing like distant thunder.

The massive demon let out a low, rumbling growl, its molten eyes narrowing.

"So… it's true," it snarled. "The human carries both."

Lyra's breath came in sharp, uneven gasps. She didn't understand. She didn't want to understand.

"I'm not—" she began.

Pain ripped through her again.

This time, worse.

The light and darkness inside her clashed violently, spiraling out of control. The energy surged, cracking the ground beneath her and sending jagged lines across the battlefield.

"I can't control it!" she cried.

The angel's voice rang out, sharper now.

"If she loses control, everything ends!"

The demon laughed, a deep, terrifying sound.

"Then let her break."

The two forces moved again.

Not toward each other.

Toward her.

Lyra's heart pounded wildly as the power inside her reached its peak. The air screamed. The sky fractured further. Even the ground beneath began to collapse into glowing fissures.

She was the center of it all.

The cause.

Or the end.

Tears blurred her vision as she clenched her fists, the opposing energies tearing her apart from within.

"I don't want this!" she shouted.

But the power didn't care.

It answered only one thing—

Release.

The light in her left hand flared brighter than the sun.

The darkness in her right burned deeper than the abyss.

And then—

She let go.

A catastrophic burst of energy erupted from her body, tearing across the battlefield in a blinding wave. Angels were hurled back into the heavens. Demons were blasted into the fiery depths. The earth itself split open, unable to withstand the force.

The sky screamed.

Then—

Silence.

Total.

Absolute.

The light faded.

The fire died.

The wind returned in a soft, trembling whisper.

Where armies once clashed, there was now only ruin.

Broken ground.

Fallen weapons.

And a single figure lying at the center of it all.

Lyra.

Unmoving.

Unconscious.

Alive… or not, no one could tell.

High above, beyond the torn sky, something ancient stirred.

Something that had been waiting.

Watching.

Awakening.

A voice echoed through the emptiness—old, vast, and filled with quiet hunger.

"At last… the gate has opened."

Darkness began to gather once more.

Not from Hell.

Not from Heaven.

But from something far worse.
