'what is he going to do. Messengers can't be killed' just as this thought entered his head, a refined fan carrying a huge power within it hit him on his back.
He could hear his bones cracking as he was lifted off the ground, in the air and landed face first in the pond lying in the corner.
He crawled out with difficulty and laid on his backs near the pond, his clothes soaked.
He breathed heavily and bear the serious pain increased by broken ribs. He gritted his teeth and managed to exit the manor.
"Hear this, if by the due date your master hadn't renounced his challenge and kowtowed before me, I promised your entire town will be going down and he will have his head as payment. We are bringing the war down to your doorstep." Mayor Strum bellowed in a domineering tone which resounded across the hall.
The messenger sulked in his shady breath and with cold eyes continued forth. Seemingly unmoved by the words.
After walking about three hundred meters he turned around with deep hatred, spatted on the ground and continued his walk. He wouldn't let this humiliation go whatsoever.
He started concocting some possible plots to fit his case.
The doors of the assembly hall were shut the instant the messenger was 'courteously' led out.
Even after the event Mayor Strum still looked the same not even bothered by the position the messenger might find himself.
He unhurriedly brought his arms down the armrest.
The rules only entails that messengers shouldn't be killed or one would face destruction in turn, it didn't say they couldn't be bedridden.
"Have our spies watch what the Bland town is up to. No details should be left no matter how minute. We can't let our guard down just because they are a weak opponent" he ordered and he was gone with a flap of his robes, not without leaving these words behind,
"Apparently, others thought the Sand-scale city had become weak after not engaging in major fights for so long, otherwise some backwater town wouldn't have had the guts. We will use the Bland town as a steppingstone and also a warning to others that the Sand-scale city denizens hadn't debilitated."
The others present in the hall sighed,
'the Bland town don't know what's good for them. What made them proposed such a call is deserving to be looked into and not to be exempt. The Sand-scale city isn't a chick to be looked down upon, and most especially not from a tiny grade-3 town. It's likely they've got someone pushing them.' they all concluded.
They departed the hall with the departure of the mayor.
______
Upon entering the room, Ivory closed the door behind before she drew Blood hurriedly to the bedside.
"What have you been up to this past month. I know it definitely isn't normal because I clearly saw you vanished on the bed, returning only some hours later before going on you know, deep sleep mode." Ivory looked him straight in the eyes as if she would gouge out his eyes if he were to tell a lie.
Blood gulped as his expression constricted when he heard this. He didn't know about what his sister just told however, that is to say she might be unto something or what she said was actually true.
Moreover, he didn't even know if he should come completely clean to the family, but his mind screamed against it which was one of the most powerful self-protection means one had for themselves. He couldn't help gnashing his teeth.
Hence,
"It's just your wild imagination and there's nothing to worry about. You should go to sleep. I'll use the bathroom now." he shrugged before going to the bathroom.
Blood didn't know but a tiny vein popped on her head before she said in a soft voice, "I know you are up to something and just want you to know that you'll always have me by your side." her back hit the bed before silent breathes could be heard.
Blood already reaching out for the knob of the bathroom turned around and walked quietly to the edge of the bed. He leaned closer to her face as he brushed her smooth auburn hair,
"If I were to tell the truth someday you will be the first I speak to." he said lightly and went for a clean bath.
A tear rolled down her cheek before she shifted to a comfortable position. The accumulated rests would be used up in a single night.
Blood came out some minutes later and dried his wet hair while sitting in an armchair. He willed the Blood Book with a simple thought and what greeted him was really mind blowing…
'Status'
[Host: Blood Marble]
[Race: Human]
[Bloodline: Superposition (mutated)]
[Cultivation Realm: Iron Realm Stage 10]
[Techniques: Blood Formation Manual—Blood Balancing Art]
[Skills: Dark Bond, Jade Eyes, Influence]
[Title: Path Breaker???]
[Talent Grade: ???]
[Revamp Energy Level: 200 of 200%]
[Mutation Exp: 60 of 1000]
[Level 1 Achieved]
Blood was bewildered by his status as it mentioned he was a stage 10 cultivator of the Iron realm.
It was clearly known in the cultivation world that cultivation stopped at stage 9 before one was forced to initiate a breakthrough to the next realm.
Also, cultivation to the 10th stage was unheard of since it wasn't possible and only death awaits such cultivator or a broken core, bring one down to just an ordinary human.
He gasped as ecstasy washed over him. A stage 10 cultivator would clearly be stronger than a stage 9 cultivator and upon breakthrough, normal Bronze realm cultivators wouldn't be his match.
Blood marveled over his deduction.
What he didn't know was that there was more to it as he hadn't tested his new strength yet.
Although the Bloodline remained the same, the name "superposition" clearly hinted something decent.
The Technique "Blood Formation Manual" was a crackle, although he doesn't know its usage yet, just the 'Blood' word conceived already gave the tiding. It wouldn't lag behind the others.
He also wasn't really sure what the Revamp Energy does. He knew it was at 100% the previous time. The Accumulated Exp also changed to Mutation Exp decreasing all the way from 600 to 60 points.
He tapped into the skill 'Jade Eyes',
[Jade Eyes: Enable the Host to see relative information of sentient and insentient beings]
Blood wondered over the friendly function and couldn't help thinking what he could possibly do with such overpowering deciphering function. Excited as he was, he quickly willed the last, the Influence skill.
[Influence: Gives Host a higher chance of successfully bonding a pet at the expense of Host's energy]
Blood realized this skill was for bonding pet. He did the same for the Path Breaker title, but nothing showed as he had hoped which left him baffled.
The thought of what could possibly held back the title could only be linked to the question marks beside it.
He scrutinized the status section for some time before going to the next, the Quest Hall section which remained the same, showing:
[All Quests will appear here]
He moved on to the next, the Notification section whose contents blew his mind, leaving him speechless…
He started reading from the first message to the last.
