Although Blood was sure the grade 6 contract was enough for the lady before him, since he knew she was only in the Silver realm which was equivalent to grade 3 contract's capacity, he still bought and used the Blood Book's Soul Bounding Contract just to be safe. He was also wary of the arrogant smile on her face when she signed the contract.
It only took him five seconds to read the notifications. The instant he bought the contract; its soft click was heard.
[Accumulated Exp: 10.700]
When the contract was finalized, Blood together with Ballock told her how they entered and just what she needed to know about the domain.
Harumph!
Kate snorted coldly, "Hmm, so this was all you've gotten and you're being so secretive. You haven't even met any Silver realm beasts." she complained as she rolled her eyes.
Nevertheless, she had to admit that if it was really true as they've told, then it meant that the place really had potential to yield good things. Especially the exotic herbs they showed her as proof which she recognized, and they also claimed the contract was picked along the way.
She was almost in disbelief or already was.
Were they being cocky, now she's started to believe them.
A grade 6 treasure picked randomly, along the way!
Impossible!
When had the cultivation world became so easily lived?
And that goes for the herbs also. They could've found it elsewhere.
She suddenly figured a plan which wouldn't go down the throat of the duo, but she didn't care and so kept it to herself.
"Very well. If that's all, I will escort you out." she said to the two.
Blood nodded slowly, "Don't try anything funny when we leave. When we are ready for the next adventure, we'll alert you."
Kate was instantly irritated as shot back, "Don't speak to me so casually over such a small deal. Moreover, you should respect your senior cultivators, or you might see the afterlife too soon. I will be waiting." she said as she waved her hand and they could see the wall parted, giving them some space to go through.
The woman who always stayed with Kate felt the disturbance and appeared behind a small structure and stared at the trio.
Blood looked at Kate once again with a strange glint in his eyes as he passed the opening. He had already gotten the information he needed.
Kate's eyes shone slightly with an ambiguous thought, 'he's really nice talking to, maybe that's the only thing he's good at'.
An unknowing smile cascaded her face. But when she remembered the cryptical increase in strength, she once again became restless.
"At least, there's now someone who could match up to me, even if it's not now. But his cultivation speed is simply too fast and weird. Another thing is that I couldn't sense his cultivation realm after the first time." Kate was perplexed by this, which made her came to the conclusion that this buddy shouldn't be underestimated, especially his timid nature.
What she was unaware of was that Blood had allowed her to detect his cultivation base at first because, when they crossed the portal, they didn't know what laid ahead so they prepared themselves. But the moment they crossed the portal and everything was fine, both of them became calm which automatically stopped Blood's energy fluctuation.
Kate fixated her eyes on them, not knowing if they'd play any other tricks.
Just a moment before crossing the opened wall, a glistering red panel appeared.
[Hidden Optional Quest Condition met]
[Quest Title: Form a Blood Following (10)]
[Time Limit: 1094 days]
[Blood Follower: 0 of 10]
[Quest Reward: Complicated wish]
Blood retracted his leg which was about to cross the opening when he finished reading the issued quest. He turned his eyes backward and gazed at the beauty standing alone in the distance and thought of the possible reason the Blood Book issued such quest at this critical moment.
He had been with Ballock all this while and this quest wasn't issued, and now just being with this lady for such a short amount of time and this happened. This shouldn't just be a coincidence...
Besides, with the way the quest was set, it clearly meant he should select ten people to follow him. His gaze softened when it met hers and thought of the possible occasion that she agreed, which he knew was nigh impossible with her nature.
However, one shouldn't come to conclusion so quickly without an actual try. He walked back towards her, standing just two meters from her.
"What is it this time around? Aren't I lenient enough, letting you go just like that?" she frowned.
"It's not that. It's just that communicating with you would be difficult since I don't have the means. We can't just come knocking on the princess's door every time, we'll surely be punished." he chuckled silently.
"Hmm, that's reasonable." she thought for a moment as a round object appeared in her hand with flat surface, "This is a Jade chip already connected to mine, you can use it to contact me anytime something good came up." she fidgeted with it before she suddenly flicked it as it moved with great speed towards Blood who caught it, completely unperturbed.
She continued, "The range should reach your city and most importantly, don't activate it if you have nothing reasonable to say thereby disturbing my cultivation, else you'll surely regret it for sure. Now, off you go." She said while waving her hands as if shooing a fly.
"One more thing," Blood quickly drew her attention again,
"If I were to offer you something great that would make you incredibly strong beyond belief and only asked you to become my follower, would you agree?" Blood placed his intentions finally.
Although, he didn't know what would happen to anyone who became his follower, but one thing he could think of was that they surely wouldn't be the same.
Kate's whip suddenly hurled out without warning, and in the blink of an eye it reached Blood who wasn't prepared. It struck him cleanly in the chest, since he didn't have enough time to draw his weapon.
The strike was heavy which sent him off the ground, and directly past the opening.
It all happened in an instant which left Ballock confused and pissed. However, he knew he could do nothing, so he hurried to his friend who was holding his chest with red eyes. One could tell he was confused as well but remained calm.
"You couldn't even protect yourself from an attack. I suggest you don't participate in the battle between the two forces, since you're clearly not ready and also, the day you can defeat me that instant is when you should give it a second try." she said with a threatening look and the next instant the opening closed leaving behind a blue wall.
"Hey, are you okay?" Ballock asked with worried gaze.
Blood smiled and dusted himself off. This small encounter had done him a huge favor, and he knew now where to incline.
"Ballock, there's nothing to worry about. How about we continue with the original plan?" he said.
Ballock was amused seeing he still wanted to go through with his plan.
Ballock was ready. Anywhere Blood goes, he would follow without hesitation.
"Hehe, do you think a pecky lady could change my cause? There's no need dallying. I can hear their cries from here. They need our help. They needed all that they could get." he added with determination.
They left immediately!
