The car we were in stopped at some sort of warehouse.
"It seems shut tight."
"Aldo should be inside. Well, atleast the jammers still runin stable. You getting out Samurai?"
They had taken to referring to me as that. I don't know why, but I felt when Lucy said it it was an insult.
"Yes I wish to meet your leader or whoever it is. You people seem fun so I want to stick around.
"Yeah whatever."
She seems much colder now. Well I'm not exactly something normal to them. She must've been shocked.
David got out the car and started checking to see if this "Aldo" was home. Then I heard something. Neither David nor Lucy seemed to hear the "Chrome'd up Ganger", as they would call it, on motorcycle rapidly approaching.
He was heading straight for David. Fast bike it almost reached him. Too bad I'm faster. I don't remember all the details of how those magus rank our weakened stats when summoned for a grail war. But I remember they had my Agility at A+ which by their measure is roughly 100x average human. I smirked.
Only the sound of my sword unsheathing was heard. As I blitzed the man on the motorcycle at over 250 mph (402+kmh for metric). My blade came down upon him like a guilotine. I had appeared in front of him so fast he hadn't even realized I was there yet. One strike was all over took as both him and his bike where cut clean down the middle.
The man on the bike collapsed inward. This caused the two halves of the bike swerve off and crashing into nearby containers. A ruined bike and a pile of flesh and scrap.
"Mrrmmmm, ahhh that felt great to stretch the muscles a bit more."
I turned around to see David flat on his ass and Lucy both staring at me.
"Hmm maybe I went a little to hard…"
A car pulled up shortly after. A dark skinned Goliath of a man in shades got out of the car.
I walked over to them the large obviously enhanced man's seemed on guard.
"Lucy, David, would you please tell your… associate that I mean no harm and would like to discuss joining your group."
"Who or what the hell are you?"
"My name is sasaki kojiro. A wandering swordsman. I'll use that job description since samurai seems to have a different meaning to you people."
"And why the hell would you want to join us."
"Well several reasons, but the main one is it would be fun."
"Fun?"
"Yes. Riding the edge as it were chasing a never ending thrilling high. Once you've lived as long as I have life is easily extremely boring."
"And how.."
"Don't ask him it makes no sense. Heck his existence doesn't make sense Maine"
"He has no ID, no money, no government history, and the strangest thing no cybernetics."
"Your fucking with me?"
"Nope."
"I could explain, but most of the information would be irrelevant and useless too you do you really want to know? Honestly the easiest way is to type my name into search engine. Look at a Japanese history book focusing on famous characters from the warring states era."
Maine raised his eyebrow. I think those were big sunglasses. Then gestured to Lucy to look up the information.
"I found A Sasaki kojiro, but that doesn't prove it's you. After all he should be long dead."
"Oh that yes I did die. Miyamoto Musashi proved herself the superior swordsman that day. In all honesty I'm also very confused. One minute I'm in The city of Fuyuki in the year 2004 the next I'm standing in th desert out side your city. There are only two people capable of doing that that I know of and frankly I do not want to deal with either of them."
They looked confused still
"Look all you really need to know is I wants some fun. And two I've taken a liking to the three people you've sent on this "job"."
"And how do we know you won't sell us out to the corpos."
"Oh that's easy. They bore me. They over complicate life with there silly complicated rules. They think I have money therefore I have power and make all the rules. While that is true to extent there are a few rule that never changes no matter how high up on the to hierarchy a human is. First we all die eventually. And Two no matter how much money you have it's not going to stop someone truly determined to end you no matter what. I admit that second one is a rarer breed of person though. I personally just love to fight and being on the weaker side seems more fun than having an employer who treats you like a dog on a leash."
…
"Well shit. I can respect that. Don't fully understand why your so strong unaugmentted, but damn."
I think I'm going to like it here.
Authors note short chapter no point dragging it out for word count.
