The same corridor. The same intersection where he had first encountered Yeo-woon over two months ago—the narrow passage where both their systems had performed involuntary scans, each probing the other through hosts who barely understood what was happening beneath the surface.
Seungho slowed his pace, but stopping would be conspicuous. The DOIS was already activating, its resonance protocols engaging without his conscious permission.
Yeo-woon rounded the corner at three meters distance.

The Fourth Prince's eyes swept the corridor with the casual attention of someone confirming their surroundings. His gaze passed over Seungho—and paused.
Not a full stop. Not a confrontation. Just a half-second where his focus lingered, his expression shifting from neutral observation to something that looked like concentration.
"His nanomachines detected something. They are scanning me right now."
The DOIS pushed harder, probing Yeo-woon's qi signature with the desperation of a system trying to complete its data acquisition before detection occurred. The partial protocol map from their first encounter provided a foundation—now the system was building on that foundation, filling gaps, mapping architecture.
Six seconds of mutual probing.
Six seconds where Seungho stood still and Yeo-woon walked past, both of them engaged in a silent battle neither fully controlled.

Yeo-woon stopped walking.
He stood five meters past Seungho's position, his back turned, his head tilted slightly to one side. The posture of someone listening to internal feedback. Processing data his conscious mind had not yet interpreted.
Then he turned his head.
Not a full turn. Not facing Seungho directly. Just a quarter rotation, enough to catch Seungho's silhouette in his peripheral vision.
His eyes held no hostility. Only curiosity.
The blank assessment of someone whose internal display was providing information about an anomaly, and whose training told him to understand anomalies before reacting to them.
"He investigates before he attacks. That is the most terrifying thing about him."
Five heartbeats of silence.
Then Yeo-woon continued walking, disappearing around the far corner without a word.
Seungho reached his quarters with his hands trembling.

The system's report was clinical, efficient—and terrifying.
Yeo-woon's nanomachines had logged both corridor events. They had cross-referenced the anomalies. They were building a pattern file.
"The first encounter was flagged as low priority. This one is elevated. One more event, and the pattern recognition might trigger an active investigation."
The future Heavenly Demon had not acted. He had not confronted. He had not even spoken.
He had simply noticed.
And that half-second of attention from Cheon Yeo-woon was worth more fear than Mu-sang's sword had ever produced.
