Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The First Crack of Memory

The day started like any other.

The classroom was filled with quiet chatter.

Ethan was laughing about something while Ryan tried to stop him.

Maya sat calmly, watching them.

And Aria…

She was unusually quiet today. "Aria, why are you so quiet?" Maya asked gently.

Aria gave a small smile.

"It's nothing… maybe I'm just a little tired."

But deep down, she knew—

It wasn't just tiredness.

Something inside her felt… unsettled. From across the room, Lila was watching everything.

Her gaze remained fixed on Aria.

Something is changing… she thought. The class continued.

The teacher's voice slowly faded into the background.

Aria's vision blurred.

And suddenly—

A flash.

Fire…

Everything turned red.

Someone was screaming.

A small girl's voice—

"Sister!"

Fear. Panic.

Then—

A sharp, deafening sound.

Darkness. "Aria!"

Maya's voice pulled her back.

Aria gasped for air.

Her hands were shaking.

"Are you okay?" Maya asked, worried.

Aria couldn't speak for a moment.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly.

"I… I'm fine…"

But the fear in her eyes was clear. Lila slowly stood up.

Her eyes darkened.

"Finally…" she whispered under her breath. At lunch, they all sat together.

But Aria wasn't normal today.

She stayed quiet, staring at her hands again and again. "What happened?" Ryan asked.

Aria hesitated before speaking.

"I… I saw something strange."

Everyone went silent.

"Fire… and… someone was calling me…"

Her voice trembled. Ethan tried to joke,

"Maybe it was just a nightmare—"

Maya quickly stopped him.

"No, this could be serious." Lila listened silently.

A faint emotion flickered in her eyes—

But she hid it quickly. After lunch, Aria stood alone near the window.

A soft breeze passed by.

Her eyes drifted again.

"Sister…"

She whispered.

The word felt unfamiliar…

Yet strangely close. "Did it scare you?"

Lila's voice suddenly came from behind.

Aria turned, slightly startled.

"No… I mean… I'm fine," she said.

Lila stood beside her.

Silence for a moment.

Then she asked softly—

"Are you remembering something?"

Aria shook her head.

"No… but it feels like… I've forgotten something important."

Lila's fingers tightened.

For a brief second, emotion flickered in her eyes.

But she controlled herself.

"Everyone forgets things," she said calmly.

Aria gave a small smile.

But it wasn't a comfortable one.

Lila slowly stepped away.

Her eyes darkened.

"You're starting to remember…"

"Aria…" "But not yet…"
