"Do-hyun?"
Jihan stood frozen in the doorway, the phone still loose in one hand, forgotten entirely as he stared at the man standing on the other side of it—older now than the last memory he had, but unmistakably him, the same careful posture, the same nervous way he had of tucking his hands into his pockets when he didn't know what to do with them.
"Can I come in?" Do-hyun asked, voice quiet, uncertain. "I know this is strange. I know I should've called first. I just—didn't trust myself not to lose my nerve if I gave myself the time to think about it."
Jihan hesitated for only a second before stepping back, opening the door wider. "...Yeah. Come in."
Somewhere between the doorway and the living room, the call with Jae-min disconnected—whether Jihan had ended it without noticing or Jae-min had hung up on his own, neither of them would think to check until much later.
