"What happened back there?" Lukas asked Drew with some assertiveness in his voice. Surprising Drew substantially. "Why did you lose your temper like that?" He asked another question.
"It's just, he doesn't understand! He's still 15!" Drew tells. "He has no idea what he's doing to his body right now" his eyes start to shiver, just enough for Lukas to notice what's going on with Drew. Lukas raises his voice a notch. "HEY! Arthur will be fine! Ms. Avery is there to supervise him and Braxton so he'll be okay! Stop worrying about him!" Drew could see the annoyance in his eyes. He wondered if Lukas was even trying to comfort him, or to make sure he stopped wasting his precious time.
Drew gives Lukas a nasty look while muttering under his breath "just get in the fucking car you dickhead" and turning his back towards him. Lukas just sighs and hops into the back seat. Ethan's just standing there, worried for what will happen next. Now that all three of them are in the car, the air around them is eerily tense and unpleasant.
"C'mon guys!" Ethan pipes up. "This'll be fun, don't worry about anything else while we're out shopping!" Lukas and Drew both stare at Ethan, making him a little uneasy. Lukas sighs and says: "sure..." whilst looking out the window trying to act moody and stuff.
"Got it" Drew caves in.
Drew starts the engine, it purrs in excitement as the thing slowly turns on. The car shakes and rattles like it hasn't been used in 2 years. To Lukas, it probably could have.
"Y'all got your seatbelts on?" Drew asks while darting his eyes between the two of them. Locking eyes with Lukas for just a second longer than he should have. "Yep, we're both fine!" Ethan reassures him with a crooked smile. Then immediately goes back to staring at literally nothing.
Drew begins to back out of the driveway, and onto the cracked street. Then he starts zooming, going way over the speed limit like they have no time for this at all. Lukas and Ethan both hold onto their seats for dear life, as the wind blinds them. "Goddamn slow down!" Lukas shouts at him. With the wind benign too loud though, Drew doesn't hear a single word that Lukas is saying.
After 10 seconds of this absolute torture. Drew finally slows down, laughing his ass off at their own expense. Lukas and Ethan were both pissed because of that. With Lukas flipping him off. And Drew returning it to sender. The two of them then decide to go silent again. Ethan was getting really pissed off that the two were acting like little babies.
"Are we heading to the plaza?" Ethan keeps his cool with them, also giving us a new POI to know about.
"Yeah, why?" Drew asks.
"You think we could get some pizza on the way there? I'm starving" Lukas lights up when he hears the word pizza. Having never had it before, his mouth starts watering like crazy. His pupils dilate so much that it almost covers all the sclera left.
"I-I've never had Pizza before… w-what's it like?" Lukas asks with a boat load of enthusiasm coming out from his voice.
"Damn really? You've never had… pizza before." Drew calls bullshit.
Lukas stays silent, losing the puppy dog eyes once he heard Drew calling his bluff for no reason. Nothing that Ethan has said is making this situation any better. So he sort of… snaps.
"Oh would you guys stop acting like some band of snot-nose kids, and learn to take it on the chin?!" the two of them both stare at him in shock. Lukas in particular, didn't know he had something like this in him. He was impressed in a way. Ethan does immediately snap back to his senses though. "I'm so sorry guys! I didn't know what came over me.." Ethan's face turns into a light shade of pink, Lukas thought to himself: I guess that's all he got in him. What a shame, it could've been so cool.
Back at the station, Arthur and Braxton are having some lunch that Ms. Avery made for both of them. Sandwiches! Arthur and Braxton are both licking their lips at how delicious these sandwiches she made are. "Where'd your mom learn to cook like this man?" Arthur is absolutely stunned out of his mind.
"Oh, it's nothing…" She says with a very big, uncontrollable smile on her face.
"So, Arthur" Braxton's currently stuffing his face with sandwiches as we speak. "Is there really some random girl, our age, in one of these rooms?" He talks with his mouth full to the brim.
"Yeah, her name's Maria. She's homeless and has brown hair" Arthur says, not noticing Braxton's eyes light up just a little bit. "Brown, huh.." his voice sounded more distant than it was before. Catching the ear of Arthur. He slows down eating for just a second. "You good man?" he asks before going back to his normal pace.
"Huh? Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just spaced out there for a second" A wave of nostalgia ran over Braxton's body. In which he had no idea why. "Y'know, I wonder what's going on in the Lukas guy's mind. It kinda looks like there's some sort of film, wrapped on his face at all times. That's the best way that I can explain it" Braxton takes a singular bite. Arthur looks up and raises his left eyebrow at him.
"I guess I see what chu' means," Arthur says.
"Holy SHIIIIT!!!!!" Lukas is currently horsing down some pizza. You can see the afternoon sunlight, glistening through the window next to them. Lukas is sitting on one side of the booth. While both Ethan and Drew are both adjacent to him. Ethan and Drew were watching him eat in pure terror. They both couldn't believe their eyes. The pizza was average at best! They both turned and looked at each other.
"Y-you don't have to inhale it!" Ethan says.
"Calm down a little! Take one bit at a time!" Drew added.
Lukas stops for a second, and starts gagging from getting a piece lodged in his throat. Ethan gets worried and is about to stop him from choking, but Lukas just coughs up the piece of pizza and is all good for now. He gives a reassuring thumbs up to show that he's alright.
"Sorry it's just, I haven't had anything like this, ever!" Lukas says with food still in his mouth. The family behind them are all looking at the tree of them in absolute disgust. "Fucking heathen…" the dad mutters under his breath, which Lukas catches immediately. Lukas turns around and snarls at them like a wild animal. Frightening them and making them leave the restaurant.
Ethan and Drew both look at their own food, they didn't really feel like eating it anymore after this whole show they got going on. They move about their plates left to right, not knowing if they should throw it away, give it to someone outside or just try and eat it themselves.
Before anyone knows it, Lukas has already eaten a whole pizza like a true fatass. He looks up to see a waiter already there, shivering a bit and shifting uncomfortably. "S-so, gentleman.. Are you guys ready to pay now?" he asks quietly.
Ethan hands over his card. "Here you go!" He says whilst giving a smile.
The waiter swipes the card, and it goes through. Relieving both Drew and Ethan, which Lukas starts to wonder about. Ethan signals to all three of them that it's time to go now with some sign language. Even though Lukas doesn't know what he just did. He goes along with it anyway.
*opening and closing door sound effect
"How was it Lukas?" Ethan asked, already knowing the answer. He could tell by that big ole' grin Lukas had on his face. He also nodded his head like a little child with sparkles in his eyes. Which Ethan thought was kinda adorable. "Where are we going next Drew?" Ethan turns his head and asks.
Drew points over to the very well known, and very memorable store. yeah, that's its name don't ask me!
"Oh! The Very Well Known, and Very Memorable Store! I love that place!" Ethan says in excitement. "That's where I get all our clothes, Lukas!" Ethan tells him. Lukas figured, he's maybe only heard about this place once though.
They start walking over to the place, with the sun shining on their face. The wind was flowing, making Lukas' long hair look like it's flying around all over the place. There were a lot of different people, walking around and smiling too. It gave Lukas a warm feeling inside, and the outside was warm for him too. Not because of the feeling, but because it's June.
Lukas basked in the glorious afternoon sunlight. Wishing that every time of day felt this way. He closes his eyes whilst walking. Only letting the wind and the footsteps of Ethan guide him along.
"Hey… Lukas?" He abruptly opens his eyes when he hears his name being called. "I-I just want to say, I'm sorry about that outburst earlier. I was in the wrong, and it's been weighing on me. That's all" Drew wholeheartedly apologizes for what he did earlier. Surprising Lukas a bit.
"Yeah man, no worries! It's not that big a deal!" Lukas reassures him. Little some unexpected warmness in his tone. Hey, I like this guy! Lukas thinks whilst the day felt, just a bit brighter.
