Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

The fangirl, who was still jogging towards home, paused to catch her breath. She pulled out her phone and dialed the unknown number.

"Hey, I'm at the coordinates you provided yesterday when we met, but I can't see you." "You don't see me, which is strange because I can see you. Turn around."

The fangirl turns and spots the mysterious man she encountered yesterday.

"Now you can see me well, right?" "Yes, I can see you well now, Taehyung from BTS. I followed your instructions exactly; now where is the payment you promised me for this? "Wait a moment; just because you followed my instructions, it doesn't mean our deal is complete, young lady. You should be cautious about who you speak to nowadays. Who knows if the unknown number wasn't mine? Perhaps it was someone else." "I know this society is going downhill, but come on, I can't stay all night, and I need to get home before my parents start to worry about me."

"Before I hand over the money, do you have what I asked for?" "Yes, it's on my phone, the voice recording of my chat with Jin and later with y/n. What's your email so I can send it to you?"

Taehyung shared his email with the fangirl, who then attached the file and sent it.

"I've got it. It was a pleasure to do business with you. Now for your reward."

Taehyung hands the fangirl the money she earned. She bows to him in gratitude, promises to keep this a secret, and rushes home.

"What a young lady! She made my job so much easier. Oh, I need to call Namjoon," Taehyung muttered, glaring at his phone with the file. He selects Namjoon's contact and makes the call.

"Hey, guess what I got? The voice recording file is from a person I hired to complete the task for me. Would you like me to email you the file? Okay, I will send you the file via email. I need to leave now; see you tomorrow." Taehyung ended the call and walked through the streets of Anyang-si.

Meanwhile, Namjoon checks Taehyung's email and opens the voicemail recording file. He listens to it and saves it to his laptop via a backup USB.

"Alright, step 2 of the plan is done; just 3 more steps to complete. I can't believe Taehyung got a fake Jin fan to pull this off, and Jin actually fell for it. Poor Jin, you have no idea why I'm doing this. I'm doing it for your own benefit, yet every time I say something, you push me aside. When is the right time to reveal this file? Perhaps y/n vanished on August 25? Too harsh—no one is perfect. Jin, I regret to inform you, but I'm obsessed with y/n, and this is merely the start of all I have displayed," Namjoon contemplated wickedly.

"I am done eating, Jin. "Are you almost done?" y/n asked. "Yes, I finished long before you did," Jin laughed. "Cheater," y/n shouted. "Don't scream so loudly; we're in a convenience store, not on the streets. Should we leave? My studio apartment is just 5 minutes away," Jin said as he tossed the trash. "Sure," y/n said, getting up from the chair.

Jin and y/n exited the 7-Eleven and began walking through the streets of Anyang-si.

They arrived at Jin's studio apartment.

"Wow, it still looks just like the last time I visited, and this time, it's really neat," y/n said, twirling around. "It really does," Jin replied, leaning against the wall with a smile. "So, what snacks did you bring?" y/n asked. "I have honey butter chips and a Snickers bar," Jin answered. "A Snickers bar? How lame. You know they sell that in the US," y/n said, frowning.

"Well, I can't help but love a Snickers bar," Jin said, slightly offended. "Alright, Mr. Snickers. Enjoy your chocolate bar while I savor my cosmos tteokbokki. Watch out; one sniff and you might start crying," y/n joked.

Jin asked y/n if she wanted to watch some YouTube on his TV in the living room.

Y/n asked what kind of YouTube videos they should watch, and Jin suggested their MVs, which y/n agreed to.

They watched about 20 MVs for an hour and a half while the storm calmed down, and the streets were no longer flooded.

Their phones alerted them that: the thunderstorm has cleared up. Some streets were flooded, so drive with caution at all times, while others were not flooded.

Y/n texted her parents that the storm has cleared, some streets are safe to drive on, and Jin will drive slowly to avoid any accidents on the wet roads.

Jin and y/n rose from the living room, made their way to the door, and descended the stairs to get to the main entrance.

Y/n got into Jin's car and they drove off.

"Why is my phone ringing at this time, and who is it?" y/n said, puzzled. "Oh, Suga is calling me; do you mind if I answer?" y/n asked Jin.

Jin nodded and turned down the radio.

Y/n answered the call.

"Hey babe, why are you calling me at this time? But you'll see me all day tomorrow, hehe. What about the bookstore? Oh, something crazy happened when there was a massive power outage and everyone freaked out, and I'm glad my phone didn't die on me. Yes, I'm still with Jin, who is actually driving me to the apartment right now. Do you want to speak to him? He seems a bit occupied since he's driving, and I'd say some streets are a little flooded. But we'll all see each other tomorrow, so whatever you want to tell him, you can do that tomorrow—see you then, babe."

Y/n finishes his call with Suga, and Jin increases the radio volume while navigating the flooded streets.

Y/n messaged her parents that they would reach in 30 minutes, so they can step out when she arrives.

After 30 minutes, they reach y/n's parents' apartment, where her parents are waiting outside the building.

Y/n thanks Jin, then gets out and heads towards her parents.

Jin waves at y/n's parents and watches as she and her parents enter the building.

Jin then makes a U-turn and returns to his studio apartment amidst the flooding.

Namjoon is in his apartment when he hears a knock at the door.

He checks the peephole and notices Suga standing there.

Namjoon opens the door.

"Suga, what do you need?" Namjoon asked, puzzled. "Hi Namjoon, I need to ask you something. Do you have a moment?" Suga replied quickly.

Namjoon let Suga in and asked what he wanted to know.

Suga confides in Namjoon about a nagging feeling he's had since he began dating y/n. He knows y/n has feelings for Jin, but he's unsure how to handle it.

"So, you're saying you're jealous of y/n and Jin's friendship? Come on, you've only been with y/n for 2 days, and you're already thinking about this?" "I was fine with Jin going to the bookstore with y/n, and J-Hope was right; I should have been there with y/n instead of Jin, but books aren't my thing. And then I'll see her tomorrow, and I'm not sure what to do?"

"Before you start crying, please listen to me. I wanted to give you a heads up, alright? When the park opens, I'll pull y/n to the side and take her to an area beneath a tree to apologize, that's when you'll come in, looking for her and worrying about her." "That sounds perfect." "Once you find her, y/n will stick by you; just make sure you keep her close and away from Jin." "Thanks, Namjoon, I really appreciate that. I knew I could count on you for this kind of advice. Anyway, I have to go now," Suga said as he left Namjoon's apartment.

"I know I constantly provide good advise, but Suga is like a kitten terrified of being alone. Shifting topics, this voice recording file would be my most valuable gift, and there's a small chance I might upload it online anonymously so y/n continues to receive more and more hate every day. Maybe I should post it online on Monday, and everyone will see how y/n is a self-centered girl who just cares about herself," Namjoon mused with a cunning smile.
