A few hours earlier, before Namjoon entered the 7-Eleven where y/n was working, their group chat was buzzing with chaos due to two members having a heated argument, along with two others also arguing, so someone had to intervene.
[Groupchat of the members]
Jimin: WHO ATE MY DUMPLINGS?
Taehyung: They were really good!
Jimin: Tae, I HAVE TOLD YOU MANY TIMES NOT TO EAT MY DUMPLINGS OR TOUCH THEM. HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO SAY IT?
Taehyung: I DIDN'T SEE ANY STICKY NOTE ON IT. NEXT TIME, LEAVE A STICKY NOTE ON YOUR DUMPLINGS SO I WON'T EAT THEM.
Jimin: Just wait. I'll eat your dumplings when you're not looking.
Taehyung: Go ahead, try me!
Jungkook: Guys, stop arguing; it's just dumplings.
Jimin: Just dumplings? How would you feel if someone drank your banana milk from the fridge?
Jungkook: Uh, I'd be mad, obviously.
Jimin: Well, it's the same with dumplings.
Jungkook: Tae is right; put a sticky note next time.
Taehyung: Ha! Even Jungkook agrees with me.
J-Hope: Hey guys, what's all this noise about? The semester just ended today, and you all want to start a fight already.
Taehyung: Jimin initiated it.
Jimin: Look who's talking now.
J-Hope: You both are acting like children; it's no surprise y/n got so mad at Jin and Taehyung that Sunday.
Jin: Did I hear my name?
Suga: Yes, J-Hope mentioned you.
Jin: Whatever y/n told me that day was true. Why do we keep having these little arguments, guys?
Jungkook: I have no idea.
Suga: Is anyone going to say sorry?
Jimin: Taehyung can begin apologizing for it by eating my dumplings.
Taehyung: Why should I be the one? You should apologize for yelling at me.
Jimin: That wasn't yelling.
Taehyung: It was yelling in text. Why don't you come say it to my face like you did just now?
Jimin: I'm on my way to your room right now.
Taehyung: Good luck, I've already locked the door.
J-Hope: If only y/n were in this group chat, she would set both of you straight.
Namjoon: But she's not in here.
J-Hope: You should add her.
Namjoon: Why? Isn't the leader supposed to put a stop to this commotion?
J-Hope: Yes, but you're usually not around.
Namjoon: I'm here now!
Jimin: Taehyung, please open the door; I want to talk to you!
Taehyung: No! Just leave me alone.
Jimin: I TOLD YOU TO OPEN THE DOOR AND LET'S HAVE A REAL CONVERSATION.
Taehyung: REAL CONVERSATION? FIRST OF ALL, WE ARE NOT REAL MEN, AND SECONDLY, YOU LOOK LIKE A KID.
Jimin: DON'T CALL ME A KID; JUST OPEN THE DOOR, OR I'LL BREAK THE ITEM YOU HAVE ON DISPLAY.
Taehyung: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BREAKING IT.
Jimin: THEN COME OUT BEFORE I DO.
Taehyung: FINE, I'M COMING OUT.
(Jimin and Taehyung went offline.)
Namjoon: I hope this works out.
Suga: Why hasn't Taehyung gotten his own studio apartment?
Jin: Maybe he's saving up to buy a house or
Jungkook: Or he's gotten attached to Jimin? Who knows.
Suga: It's a mystery then.
J-Hope: Changing the topic, what are everyone's summer vacation plans?
Suga: I've been at home all day, and y/n has begun working, so I won't be able to visit her.
Jin: Making music videos for one of the tracks from my album.
Namjoon: I'm planning to visit art museums.
Suga: What about you, J-Hope?
J-Hope: Me? I'm likely going to an arcade with Jungkook.
Jungkook: That's right, I completely forgot. When are we heading to that arcade?
J-Hope: Maybe we can go tomorrow and also stop by to see y/n.
Jungkook: Sounds good; see you tomorrow then.
(Jungkook went offline.)
Namjoon: I'm just a couple of blocks away from running into y/n, actually.
Suga: Why are you walking over there?
Namjoon: She gave me the green book when I ran into her this morning in the ladies' restroom.
Jin: What were you doing there?
Namjoon: Just to clarify, I was outside the ladies' restroom, not inside.
Jin: I thought you were inside.
Suga: Green book? You mean that old one filled with scribbles in English?
Namjoon: Yeah, that one.
Suga: But that doesn't explain why you're over there?
Namjoon: Well, at this time, it's risky for a lady to walk alone at night.
Jin: It's not even that late; it's just barely 5pm.
Namjoon: Still, you never know what might happen.
Suga: I don't understand why she chose the night shift over the evening shift.
Jin: Maybe she would enjoy working at night and watching the sunrise. She enjoys sunrises.
Suga: Working at night, however, would be stressful for her.
Jin: Suga, you've only been dating her for a few days, while I've been her best friend for years. I know her better than anyone.
Suga: But what I'm saying is serious. It could harm her health.
Jin: She'll be okay. This isn't the first time she has done something late at night.
Suga: She'll be okay? What kind of answer is that from her best friend?
Jin: If you care so much about her, why don't you take Namjoon's place instead?
Suga: I could, but I have other commitments. Like today, I couldn't meet her this morning at the front gate because her instructor changed the time for the exam.
Jin: Even as her best friend, I always make time for her. You should learn from me.
Suga: You need to back off, Jin. She's my girlfriend, not yours.
Jin: Hmph!
Namjoon: Oh my God, J-Hope, help me out here.
J-Hope: You want me to stop the arguing between Jin and Suga? No thanks, you're the leader; it's your job to handle it.
(J-Hope went offline.)
Namjoon: Come on, seriously, J-Hope, don't leave me hanging like this. Great, now he's offline. Suga and Jin, can you stop arguing over y/n for once?
Suga: No!
Jin: No!
Namjoon: Seriously, y/n? Why her?
Jin: Because she's a very special person to me.
Suga: Because she's the dearest person to me.
Jin: Dearest?
Suga: Special?
Namjoon: ... You two sorted it out and stopped fighting; I'm out.
(Namjoon went offline.)
Jimin: Guys, Taehyung and I made up our argument.
Taehyung: Where are they?
Suga: They went offline; the last one to leave was Namjoon just a moment ago.
Jimin: Oh!
Taehyung: They'll see this message tomorrow anyway.
Jin: Of course they will.
[Message ends]
"I thought this problem was fixed from the start, so why did they have to mention it again? I felt like my head was going to burst, but I'm glad I got offline," Namjoon reflected, gazing out the window at the 7-Eleven where he saw y/n.
