Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

It was the weekend, and in the center of Seoul, it was quite a hectic weekend due to a special event that had begun in the downtown area from early morning.

Suga and Ha-Kyung went to the market as early as possible before anyone in the crowd spotted them.

"Why did you wanted to come to the market so early? You're not really a morning person," Ha-Kyung asked, gripping Suga's right hand. "It's better to shop before the crowd arrives. Plus, you have an early flight back to the States in a few hours," Suga replied, holding Ha-Kyung's left hand.

"But I don't want to return to the States." "I know you don't want to, but it's necessary. Make your family and me proud. I want you to continue succeeding in your passions. Just do it for me. A long-distance relationship would be difficult for us, but we could try. Furthermore, half the world knows we are back together, so they are aware we are dating. There's nothing to be concerned about."

Suga lifted his mask to kiss Ha-Kyung, then lowered it again and headed to a booth that Ha-Kyung wanted to explore.

They left the market three hours before Ha-Kyung's flight to go to the airport.

At the airport, Suga assisted her with her bags.

While waiting for her flight, Ha-Kyung revealed something to Suga.

"Please don't be upset with me, but your ex and I are on good terms now." "When did you see y/n?" "We ran into each other at the mall while I was in the makeup section. I apologized for bumping into her, but she pulled me aside because she wanted to sincerely apologize for how she yelled at me 'that day.' I accepted her apology, and I also apologized for my past behavior that had hurt her. She mentioned that the past is behind us and asked me to keep in touch when I'm in the States."

"I always knew y/n would eventually come around. She was like this before the Jeju Island incident, but she changed after it." "The Jeju Island incident? Did something awful happen there?" "Honestly, we have no clue what happened that day; only Jin, Namjoon, and y/n know, and they have never mentioned it since. Whatever took place that day, the truth will be revealed soon."

The airport announced that the flight gate to the States is now open. Ha-Kyung picked up her luggage while Suga watched her from a distance.

Just before Ha-Kyung entered the gate, she rushed to Suga, giving him one last hug and kiss goodbye, and that was the final time she ever saw him.

Suga, with a small tear on his cheek, wiped it away and went back to his car. Inside his car, he began to cry before receiving a call from Taehyung. Suga answered the call and informed Taehyung that he would return to the market, where he had been earlier that morning.

Suga drove to the market, where he met Taehyung, Jimin, J-Hope, Jin, and y/n. Suga exited the car he parked and joined them, where J-Hope greeted him with a hug.

Suga, without hesitation, reaches out for a hug as everyone else gathers around him. They step back to give Suga some room.

"Cheer up, Suga, it's not the end of the world. You and Ha-Kyung will still keep in touch through video calls," Jimin said. "I know, but watching her leave like this after we just got back together feels unfair," Suga replied, pulling up his mask. "I figured you'd react this way; that's why we chose to come with you to the market after you said your final goodbye to her. Let's go, before y/n and Jin get mad at us for sticking behind," Taehyung encouraged Suga.

The members approached the booth where y/n and Jin were located.

Meanwhile, Namjoon observed every action of the members and y/n from a distance, stealthily moving closer without them noticing.

For around 10 minutes, they explored 10 different booths and then took a break on a nearby bench.

"Oh my God, I'm so exhausted. Why did the sun have to come out? It's so hot; I'm getting roasted here," Jungkook said while fanning himself. "You're just lucky. I'm happy I visited the booth and brought everyone drinks. Here, take the drinks," Jin said, opening the bag and moving towards each member and y/n.

As they enjoyed their drinks, Namjoon nearly bumped into them before his fanbase reached him first.

"Omg, you're RM! Can I get your autograph?" one fan asked. "Wait, I want a picture with you!" another fan exclaimed. "When is your album coming out?" another fan inquired. "Are you going to Jin's special event next week on the 25th?" another fan asked. "Wow, you're so good-looking," said a young fan.

"Whoa, ladies and little girl, let's take one question at a time, please. I will respond to each person's questions individually," Namjoon said, organizing his fanbase to rapidly answer the questions and pick up where he left off. "Thank you so much, I will cherish this moment forever, but why aren't you over there with them?" asked the young fan, gesturing to where the members and y/n were seated.

Namjoon crouched down to be at eye level with the young fan and replied with a slight lie, "Well, I got here quite late without them, which is why. I was trying to catch up with them before you all arrived, but it's alright; fans come first, then my business comes second. Don't worry, I will join them before they start moving and I lose sight of them."

The young fan paused for a moment and quickly hugged Namjoon before returning back to her mother.

Namjoon got up from the ground, adjusted his cap, and began to walk towards the group. As he approached, Jin noticed him.

Jin turned and quietly spoke to the group, but they didn't turn around and continued walking, leaving Jin behind.

Namjoon joined Jin, and they had a lengthy conversation before Jin walked away, giving Namjoon a heads up.

Later that day, at y/n's home, Jin continued to walk back and forth, anxious about what Namjoon had said to him a few hours earlier, just before y/n exited the restroom.

A few hours earlier at the market, Namjoon and Jin met and went to a spot under a tree.

"You're lucky; the members and y/n didn't see you. And if you're curious, I told them you were here, which is why they hurried to leave. You definitely look like you heard about my relationship with y/n. Don't act surprised; it was expected," Jin said, crossing his arms.

"Yeah, I heard about you two. How could you? You betrayed your own friend? Your own member? Why, Jin, why?" Namjoon said, struggling to find the right words. "You were aware that y/n had feelings for me. You knew, yet you betrayed me by dating her secretly in high school." "How did you find out I was with y/n? Wait, don't tell—"

"I made a promise to y/n not to date you because I knew what kind of person you were be. When you started to control y/n as you wished, I knew she'd go to me for comfort. I couldn't stand seeing how you made her distance herself from everyone at school. I knew you both had to break up. So, I was the one who told y/n to end things with you so you would leave her alone," Jin yelled at Namjoon.

"Everything has started to make sense now. My first unsuccessful relationship with y/n and how YOU interfered in my life. But let me tell you something, in a few days, you won't be able to assist your defenseless girlfriend; she will be gone while I lie next to her carelessly," said Namjoon, taunting Jin before walking away.

Back to the present, y/n emerged from the restroom, and Jin went inside to calm down. While Jin was in the restroom, y/n rested on her bed, deeply contemplating the upcoming week and, hopefully, Namjoon's plan failing miserably.
