Before Superman or Batman could even react, Su Mu took a single step out of the Kryptonian mothership, looking up mockingly at the squadron of heavily armed military helicopters hovering in the sky.
"You want the Kryptonian ship?" he asked, his voice cold and indifferent.
Seeing Batman suddenly appear right in front of them, the soldiers immediately went on high alert. Dozens of high-caliber weapons instantly locked onto him, ready to fire at the slightest sudden movement.
From the previous broadcasts, they had already witnessed this Batman's terrifying strength. Yet, they still bravely charged forward. Why? Because in their minds, Batman was a superhero. He was a vigilante with a strict no-kill rule who wouldn't even execute psychotic criminals, let alone the "righteous" soldiers of the US military.
A commanding officer leaned out of a chopper, shouting through a megaphone:
"It's not that we want the Kryptonian ship. The ship inherently belongs to us! It is the absolute spoils of war of the United States, and it will absolutely not be claimed by any single individual!"
Su Mu laughed. He looked at the commanding officer as if he were looking at a pathetic clown. Tilting his head in mock curiosity, he asked:
"Tell me... where were you people when the Kryptonians were slaughtering the city? Why didn't you dare bark this loudly in front of General Zod?"
Without giving the officer a chance to explain, Su Mu answered his own question:
"Oh, don't bother. I know exactly why. It's because they would have killed you. They would have crushed you as easily as stepping on an ant—no, even easier than that.
"So... what gives you the absolute audacity to act so arrogant in front of me?
"You don't need to answer that either. I know why. It's because you think I'm a superhero. Because you think I'm the Batman who refuses to kill. A kind-hearted guardian of justice..."
A profound sense of dread rapidly began to pool in the commanding officer's gut. This Batman standing before him felt fundamentally, terrifyingly different from the one they had studied.
At that exact moment, his earpiece violently crackled to life. Colonel Hardy's frantic, desperate voice screamed over the comms:
"Retreat! Abort the mission immediately! That Batman is not the Batman of our universe; he's from a parallel reality!
"We cannot guarantee he's still a kind-hearted hero, and we have absolutely zero confirmation that he follows a no-kill rule! But what we can guarantee is that he is terrifyingly, overwhelmingly powerful! Get out of there now!"
But Colonel Hardy's warning came one second too late.
"It's too late..." the officer murmured in absolute despair.
Hovering in the air before them, Batman slowly raised his hand, forming a highly esoteric, bizarre hand sign. He crossed his elongated middle finger tightly over his index finger. Apocalyptic black-red lightning violently erupted and cascaded around his body!
The Reaper of the Night spoke with freezing, absolute finality:
"I am different. To hell with your pathetic no-kill rule.
"I stepped in and helped you repel the Kryptonians. But that was my mercy. That was my gift to you. It is absolutely not an excuse for you insects to push your luck!"
An infinite, boundless ocean of cursed energy violently erupted from Su Mu's body, expanding outward at speeds vastly exceeding the speed of light.
"Domain Expansion — Infinite Void!"
Using Su Mu as the absolute epicenter, a terrifying, conceptual domain rapidly expanded to cover a flawless twenty-kilometer radius. Nearly the entirety of Metropolis was instantaneously enveloped within the Infinite Void!
Augmented by the absolute computational prowess of the Six Eyes, Su Mu rapidly sifted through the millions of targets caught within the Domain. He flawlessly filtered and marked every single individual wearing a military uniform, actively designating them as the absolute targets of the Infinite Void.
In the next microsecond, every single soldier was violently dragged into the inner conceptual space of the Limitless. To simply stay "alive," their brains were forced to process an infinite, endlessly repeating cycle of absolute perception and sensory transmission. Massive, apocalyptic amounts of useless data flooded their synapses.
They could see everything, feel everything, and know everything... but they were completely paralyzed, unable to move a single muscle.
How utterly pathetic!
A few moments later, the Infinite Void retracted. Every single military operative within Metropolis had instantly slipped into a deep, unresponsive coma. The helicopters hovering in the sky, suddenly devoid of their pilots' control, immediately began plummeting toward the earth.
Fortunately, Superman rapidly blurred through the sky, catching the falling choppers one by one and safely setting them down on the ruined streets.
Batman and Superman stared at the unconscious soldiers. They hesitated, exchanging complex looks, before finally turning to Su Mu.
"What happened to them?"
Having effortlessly dealt with the annoying US military, Su Mu felt incredibly refreshed. Hearing their question, he waved his hand dismissively and replied casually:
"Them? Oh, don't worry. Their lives aren't in danger. Their brains were just overloaded with a bit too much useless information, so they've slipped into a temporary coma. They'll wake up and return to normal in no time."
Superman let out a massive sigh of relief. As long as there was no loss of life, it was fine.
But the native Batman, with his deeply cynical and analytical mind, read much deeper into the situation. He knew with absolute certainty that this Multiversal variant of himself wouldn't let these deeply offensive soldiers off the hook so easily.
After a brief moment of thought, Bruce caught the horrifying loophole.
"Exactly how long will they be in this coma?"
"Not long at all. Just a few centuries..." Su Mu grinned maliciously at Batman. "Truly, it isn't long! For immortal Batmen like us, a few centuries will pass in the blink of an eye. Isn't that right, Wayne?"
Batman: "..."
WTF?!
Are all the other Batmen across the Multiverse truly like this?! They possess the power to beat up Superman, they command incomprehensible, reality-warping magic, AND they're immortal?!
But having only ever met Su Mu, he had no choice but to take his word for it. Bruce sank deeper into a profound state of existential doubt, genuinely beginning to believe he was just a hopelessly defective, inferior Bat.
Temporarily tossing his bruised ego aside, Batman processed the horrifying reality of the situation.
These soldiers weren't technically dead, but functionally... what was the difference? They didn't have the "eternal lifespan of the Wanderer Batman." They would spend the absolute entirety of their remaining natural lives trapped in a vegetative sleep until their bodies eventually withered and died.
Having cleaned up the military nuisance in Metropolis in one breath, Su Mu casually opened a portal and returned to his seaside mega-mansion. There, he spent his time passively siphoning energy from his newly acquired "Kryptonian Batteries" while actively adapting his cursed pathways to the fundamental energy laws of the DC Multiverse.
In the aftermath of the Black Zero event, the world suddenly recognized the existence of four new "Gods Among Men": The Wanderer Batman, Superman, the native Batman, and Catwoman.
And absolutely everyone on the planet universally acknowledged that the Multiversal Wanderer Batman was the true, supreme God Among Men!
While rhythmically and vigorously "pounding mochi"—accompanied by the wet splashing sounds echoing through the room—Su Mu casually watched the news broadcast playing on the flatscreen TV. The reporter on screen wasn't the familiar Eddie Brock from his previous universe, but a stranger currently interviewing a high-ranking US Military General.
"General, what are your official thoughts on the four Gods Among Men?" the reporter asked.
The General flashed a heavily rehearsed, perfectly diplomatic smile and spoke in a firm, resonant voice:
"The Wanderer Batman, Superman, the native Batman, and Catwoman are well-deserving superheroes. During the Black Zero event, they helped Earth overcome the Kryptonian threat, saving humanity from a dark future of colonization.
"Among them, the Wanderer Batman is undoubtedly the strongest God Among Men, and possessing the kindest heart. He contributed the most during the crisis and was the absolute vanguard of our defense. He is, and always will be, the eternal friend of the United States!"
Just then, a middle-aged man standing in the crowd of bystanders suddenly shouted out:
"But I heard a rumor that the Wanderer Batman used some kind of dark witchcraft to put every single soldier in Metropolis into a deep sleep! They say it's impossible to wake them up!
"They're basically brain-dead vegetables, completely unresponsive! Who knows how long they'll be stuck like that? It could be for the rest of their lives!"
The unexpected outburst threw the reporter into a panic. However, the General maintained his absolute composure. Maintaining his highly infectious, friendly smile, he looked directly into the camera:
"That is nothing but a baseless, malicious rumor. We do not yet know which individuals or terrorist organizations are deliberately spreading this misinformation, but to protect the pristine honor of the Wanderer Batman—the greatest friend of the United States—we will absolutely hunt down the source of these lies and bring them to justice!
"The Wanderer Batman is a hero of pure, unadulterated kindness! How could he possibly commit such an act?
"The real reason our brave soldiers have fallen into a coma is that, upon realizing their imminent defeat, the cowardly Kryptonians deployed a localized 'consciousness bomb.' This insidious weapon specifically targeted the soldiers threatening them, forcing their minds into a state of stasis.
"But please, rest assured! These soldiers suffered this trauma for the sake of defending our Earth, and the government will never abandon them!
"For the entire duration of their slumber, all their medical expenses will be fully covered by the state. Furthermore, our top scientists are already tirelessly researching their condition. We will cure them and awaken these brave heroes as soon as possible!"
The General delivered his blatant lies with such absolute, unwavering confidence that he almost sounded like he believed them himself. The crowd immediately erupted into thunderous applause.
Watching the broadcast, Su Mu snorted in profound contempt.
Beat them until it hurts, and they immediately turn into obedient lapdogs, wagging their tails and begging for scraps. Truly the classic style of the world's biggest bully.
Furthermore, those soldiers were absolutely never waking up. The apocalyptic overload of infinite data had completely, physically obliterated their cerebral cortexes. Right now, they were no different from vegetables. Even if their brains were somehow medically repaired and they miraculously woke up, they would be completely blank slates with zero memories or cognitive functions.
Su Mu turned off the TV, completely returning his focus to his rigorous "mochi-pounding" while simultaneously continuing to adapt to the DC Multiverse's energy.
Suddenly, a brilliant, excited smile broke out on his face.
Seeing this, Catwoman gently cupped his cheeks with her smooth, delicate hands, panting softly as she asked in a sweet, breathy voice:
"What's wrong, Master~? Did you think of something happy?"
"I did indeed," Su Mu chuckled. "One of my core abilities has finally, completely adapted to the energy laws of this universe. We can alter our upcoming itinerary. There's no need to go diving underwater for some salty roleplay right now. Instead... we are going to Themyscira to pay a visit to the legendary Amazonian warriors!"
"Mmm... Ama... Amazons?" Catwoman managed to ask between heavy breaths.
"Yes. They are a race of powerful female warriors forged by the Old Gods, residing on Themyscira, an island sanctuary created by Zeus, the King of Olympus.
"Blessed by divine magic, they are immortal and unaging. Furthermore, the island is surrounded by an absolute magical cloaking field, making it mathematically impossible for ordinary humans to observe or locate it.
"For thousands of years, they have passed down a single, sacred mission: to guard a supreme cosmic artifact hidden deep within Themyscira—a Mother Box. And that supreme artifact is our next target."
"If that Mother Box is so important to them... what if they refuse to hand it over to us?" Catwoman asked worriedly.
"Relax. They will hand it over to us obediently."
Su Mu was absolutely confident in this. Whether he used overwhelming, apocalyptic physical force to crush their resistance or simply deployed the Infinite Void, securing the box would be effortless.
Thanks to his continuous, passive use of Energy Absorption to adapt to the DC environment, his Mystic Portal and all his other abilities had fully recovered to their absolute peak states.
Currently, by continuously draining his "Kryptonian Batteries," his Template Synchronization had climbed to 53%. Once it reached 60%, he would unlock yet another terrifying new skill.
However, despite the Kryptonian batteries being highly efficient, they still couldn't conceptually compare to the infinite output of the Infinity Stones. The rate at which his Template Synchronization was increasing had begun to visibly slow down.
But now that the Mystic Portal was fully functional again, Su Mu could effortlessly locate Themyscira and seize the Mother Box. Once he secured that new energy source, his synchronization speed would absolutely skyrocket once more!
Without a microsecond of hesitation, Su Mu casually swiped his hand through the air, tearing open a sparking golden portal. He took a single step through, instantly arriving on a warm, humid, pristine beach.
And standing majestically before him was the legendary paradise of the gods—Themyscira!
