________
The remote border town was in absolute chaos. A terrifying, towering mechanical monstrosity was methodically devastating everything in its path. The SHIELD agents who had attempted to intercept it, along with several unfortunate civilians, were already dead.
Thor was frantically working alongside Jane Foster, Dr. Erik Selvig, and Darcy to evacuate the remaining townspeople, while Sif and the Warriors Three charged headlong toward the descending Destroyer armor!
The Asgardians knew full well they were absolutely no match for the Destroyer—a weapon meticulously forged by Odin using an ocean of resources specifically to battle cosmic entities. Yet, they were arrogant enough in their own martial prowess to believe they could at least stall it long enough for the mortals to escape.
And so, much like Loki had done a few days prior, Fandral the Dashing stroked his brown beard, let out a heroic battle cry, and charged bravely at the towering automaton!
But before Fandral could even swing his rapier, the Destroyer casually backhanded him across the face. Fandral was instantly launched through the air like a ragdoll, crashing violently onto the hood of a parked car, completely incapacitated!
Just as the Destroyer opened its faceplate to unleash a lethal energy beam and execute Fandral, Sif—the sole female warrior of the quartet—leaped from a nearby rooftop. Driving her full weight downward, she thrust her spear directly through the back of the Destroyer's neck, pinning it to the ground.
For a brief, fleeting moment, the Asgardians let out a sigh of relief, thinking the battle was won.
But their relief turned to horror as the internal fires of the Destroyer instantly reignited. Completely unharmed by the impalement, the automaton simply rotated its segmented torso 180 degrees and unleashed a massive concussive energy blast, violently blowing Sif and the remaining warriors backward!
In a matter of seconds, the proud Warriors Three and Lady Sif were utterly defeated. It was only in this agonizing moment of failure that they truly understood the absolute, insurmountable gap between themselves and the All-Father's ultimate weapon!
Seeing his dearest friends battered and broken, and watching the Destroyer continue its apocalyptic rampage through the town, Thor suddenly understood his true responsibility.
He stepped out from behind the cover of the ruined buildings and began walking slowly toward the towering metal giant.
He was going to sacrifice his own life to save the lives of the weak. That was what a true King must do!
But just as Thor braced himself for his inevitable, fiery death, a very distinct, unhurried set of footsteps echoed through the silent, burning street.
Everyone—Thor, the Asgardians, Jane, and her team—turned toward the sound.
Strolling casually down the center of the devastated road, with his hands comfortably shoved into his pockets, was a white-haired young man wearing round black sunglasses.
He seemed completely oblivious to the apocalyptic devastation around him, or to the towering, fire-breathing metal monster standing just a few dozen yards away. He was lazily chewing on a piece of bubblegum, looking as relaxed as if he were taking a leisurely stroll through a shopping mall.
He first passed by Jane Foster's group, offering a casual wave.
"Hello again, Jane, Professor Erik. Fancy seeing you guys here."
Seeing Su Mu, a desperate flicker of hope ignited in Jane's eyes. She immediately rushed forward.
"Su Mu! Please! You have to help Thor! He's going to get himself killed!"
But before Su Mu could even open his mouth, Sif, the Goddess of the Earth and Harvest, painfully pushed herself up from the rubble and shook her head dismissively.
"Mortal, stay back," Sif commanded haughtily. "Allow Thor to die with honor. There is absolutely nothing you could possibly do against the Destroyer."
Su Mu completely ignored Sif's existence. He looked at Jane and nodded, reverting to his usual, lazy, unserious tone.
"Sure thing. But you have to promise me one condition. In the future, when you suddenly come down with a very specific, 'cosmic' sickness... you have to come find me first for treatment."
Although Su Mu had come here entirely to test his newly acquired Purple on the Destroyer, having the future host of the Reality Stone owe him a massive favor was an absolute tactical win. By the time the Aether possessed her, his Reverse Cursed Technique would undoubtedly be leveled up enough to safely extract the Infinity Stone without killing her.
It was basically securing pre-orders for his next cosmic loot drop!
Although Jane had absolutely no idea what he meant by a "sickness," her desperation to save Thor completely overrode her logic. She nodded frantically.
"Yes! Fine! I promise I'll come to you! Just please help him!"
Su Mu smiled in absolute satisfaction. He cracked his neck and began walking toward the Destroyer.
Suddenly, a bruised and battered figure stepped into his path, physically blocking him. It was Sif.
She glared at him, her expression dead serious.
"Turn back, mortal," Sif warned sternly. "You cannot possibly fathom the power of that armor. Do not interfere and tarnish Thor's final, glorious moment!"
Hearing this, Su Mu couldn't help but let out a mocking, incredulous laugh.
"His 'glory'? You mean him getting effortlessly massacred by a brainless tin can?"
Faced with Su Mu's blatant disrespect, Sif's eyes narrowed dangerously.
"For an Asgardian warrior, to die on the battlefield and be remembered in the songs of our descendants is the highest possible honor! Leave this place immediately!"
When dealing with mortals other than Thor, the Asgardians possessed notoriously short tempers and a deeply ingrained, aristocratic superiority complex. They looked down on Midgardians as primitive and weak. The only reason Sif hadn't immediately struck Su Mu was out of respect for Thor's acquaintance with him.
Looking at Sif—the supposedly legendary Goddess of Earth and Harvest—still stubbornly blocking his path, Su Mu's patience instantly evaporated.
He offered Sif a brilliant, blinding smile.
Just as Sif assumed the mortal was finally backing down, Su Mu casually flicked his right hand.
A localized wave of absolute, terrifying spatial repulsion erupted!
BOOM!
Sif was instantly blasted off her feet by a catastrophic kinetic force! She violently crashed through the walls of three consecutive buildings before finally embedding herself deeply into the asphalt of a distant parking lot, completely unconscious!
The remaining Warriors Three, Jane, and her team collectively gasped, staring in absolute, paralyzed shock at what had just happened!
The Asgardian warriors couldn't believe their eyes. Since when did a puny Midgardian possess such terrifying power?! He instantly incapacitated Sif with a wave of his hand!
When the shock finally wore off, the Warriors Three didn't feel fear; they felt pure, unadulterated outrage!
A lowly mortal dares to strike down the Goddess of Earth and Harvest?! Unforgivable!
Roaring in fury, the three battered warriors charged at Su Mu.
Under the bewildered stares of Jane's team, the White Demon didn't even look at them. He simply took another step forward. Another catastrophic wave of repulsion erupted, instantly swatting the three Asgardian elites out of the air like annoying gnats. They crashed through more buildings and joined Sif in unconsciousness.
Even though Jane had finally accepted that Su Mu truly was the White Demon, she was still overwhelmed with disbelief. Is the White Demon really this incomprehensibly powerful?! He's more terrifying than literal mythological gods!
As for Erik and Darcy, who hadn't fully grasped Su Mu's identity until now, they instinctively held their breath, their minds completely blank as they stared at the white-haired boy.
He wasn't cosplaying at all! The White Demon is actually real... and he's right here!
Having taken out the Asgardian trash, Su Mu took a single spatial step. Warping through the air, he instantly materialized directly in front of Thor, standing face-to-face with the towering Destroyer.
Seeing Su Mu appear out of nowhere, Thor's face lit up with a brief flash of hope, but it was quickly replaced by desperate urgency.
"Su Mu! Don't do this!" Thor shouted. "This is the Destroyer! It was forged by the All-Father to battle the Celestials themselves! It is made entirely of indestructible Uru metal! Even you cannot defeat it! Flee while you can! Loki's target is me; if he kills me, he will stop the destruction!"
Before Thor could finish his desperate warning, the Destroyer's segmented faceplate slid open. A blinding, searing inferno of cosmic energy began gathering within the automaton, exponentially more powerful than the blasts it had used against the Asgardians!
...
Millions of lightyears away, sitting upon the throne of Asgard and wielding Gungnir, Loki observed the battlefield through the Destroyer's optical sensors.
Seeing the white-haired mortal materialize in front of the armor, a look of absolute, malicious glee spread across Loki's face!
It's him! The filthy mortal who dared to humiliate me!
This was the perfect opportunity for revenge! Even if that white-haired bastard possessed some bizarre spatial magic, he absolutely could not withstand the unbridled cosmic might of the Destroyer!
Loki immediately commanded the automaton to execute with maximum extreme prejudice!
When attacking Thor and his former friends, Loki had subconsciously held back a fraction of the Destroyer's power out of lingering sentimentality. But facing the mortal who had treated him like a ragdoll? Loki unlocked the armor's absolute maximum output!
The blinding, searing beam of pure cosmic annihilation erupted from the Destroyer's faceplate, screaming directly toward Su Mu!
Standing nearby, Thor couldn't bear to watch. He squeezed his eyes shut.
Even if Su Mu was an incredibly powerful mortal sorcerer, there was absolutely no way he could survive a direct hit from the All-Father's ultimate weapon! He was going to be instantly vaporized into subatomic dust. Not even a corpse would remain!
But a microsecond later, Thor's expression shifted from grief to absolute, reality-shattering bewilderment!
...
Back in Asgard, Loki's triumphant sneer violently contorted into sheer panic.
Through the Destroyer's visual feed, he watched in horror as the white-haired mortal completely ignored the blinding cosmic beam. The mortal simply forced his way through the searing energy, stepping directly up to the towering automaton, and drove a seemingly ordinary, fleshy fist directly into the Destroyer's indestructible Uru-metal chest plate!
In the very next instant, a jagged, terrifying explosion of black-and-red lightning violently erupted between the two!
