(AMARI'S POV)
Rudina and I sat side by side, staring out into the open space with unseeing eyes.
I don't know how long we had spent there on the couch, but we had only moved there after I had given her a proper breakdown of everything that had gone on during the council meeting.
I wanted to hold back, for the sake of not burdening my sister, but I had to tell her for two reasons. One, we needed a solid plan, and two, I was too weak to carry it alone.
"This just keeps getting... so much more complicated. So unbelievable." She finally broke the silence.
I nodded and sighed heavily before sitting up from the sofa. I rested my head in my hands, cracking my brain for any and everything.
"Is this really true?" Rudina asked me, and when I turned to her, she added, "You being his mate, Alpha Kaelen."
I nodded and turned back, facing straight.
"It's so… so…."
"Unbelievable." I finished for her and then, after a shrug, I added, "How can a wolfless mudblood be fated to an Alpha?"
