Chapter 10 - 8 people ?

"Is it not enough that we're stuck here because of you?"

The man sounded more tired than angry.

"That you wanna get me killed with you too?"

Lisa looked at him for a second.

Slow. Condescending.

Then ignored him completely choosing to stay silent.

Beside me, Aelune muttered quietly,

"Boring."

The short man clicked his tongue before looking around the room, finally realizing everyone was awake.

"There's eight of us here," he said lazily. "Six newbies."

He shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Listen properly. After this mission… you won't be newbies anymore."

No one spoke.

"At the moment, you're inside a temporary space created by her system."

A lazy gesture toward Lisa.

"When you're sent in, you'll be placed near the person you're supposed to ruin, ie the protagonist . For you protagonist can be anyone ~

Second leads - check

Agonists -check

Cannon fodder- check"

A pause.

"How dangerous they are depends on how useful you people looked during evaluation."

Someone shifted uneasily.

"The system'll explain the story once you arrive. Thank god!."

He yawned lightly.

"Only one rule."

His eyes lifted slightly.

"Do whatever it takes to destroy the other side… Or don't.

Your choice."

The room went quiet again.

"There are too many nations across the voids," he continued. "Chance of meeting each other again's basically zero."

A faint shrug.

"So abandon any idea of begging for help."

Silence.

"Questions?"

The scar-faced guy finally spoke up. A long cut stretched from his forehead down to his jaw, making him look more like a serial killer which is probably a cherry on top paired with the look in his eyes.

"You said teams of ten," he said. "Why're we only eight?"

Lisa whined before the man could reply.

"Probably our superior " she muttered bitterly. "Who not getting punished like the rest of us."

The short man looked at him slowly.

"Why do you care?"

His voice wasn't loud.

Weirdly enough, the threat landed anyway despite his 4'2 frame .

Nobody replied after that.

He looked around once more.

"Ready?"

A pause.

"Actually, doesn't matter."

"You're getting thrown in five seconds either way."

I was lying on a bed.

Soft silk sheets.

Heavy scent of perfume.
