Narrator's P.O.V
Slowly, and without taking her eyes off the thing, the Asian woman began to walk backward, reaching her hand out to Marcos. If the demon himself had manifested, Chen was definitely an easy target, since she knew how to protect herself and Ariel was on top of runes that would shield him from any attack by the entity. Marcos was the only extremely vulnerable one there. Without thinking too much, the man grabbed her hand, stepping closer to Eico, also without taking his attention off that pair of floating eyes. A bizarre laugh was heard, and the more it laughed, the deeper it became, until it reached the point where the sound was so guttural that it made their bodies vibrate.
Chen never, in his entire life, imagined witnessing what was about to come...
A silhouette began to emerge from the shadows. Slowly and somewhat hauntingly, the figure began to walk toward the light, revealing its form. However, the demon wasn't what either of them expected. In fact, that thing looked like the Asian man. It was Marcos standing there! Everything was the same, even his clothes. However, that thing definitely emanated an aura so horrendous that it was impossible to confuse it with the real Marcos.
Then there was its face...
The thing's face was completely disfigured. It looked battered. There were several purple bruises, and the dark circles under its eyes were so deep that the skin had turned pitch black in that area. Its eyes, in turn, had changed, going from white orbs to two completely black globes. Its fingers looked stained in a deep, dark shade of red, as if soiled with dried blood. It was utterly macabre! A grotesque and twisted version of Marcos!
The demon looked toward both Asians and smiled. Not a normal smile, not by a long shot! It was simply horrifying! It smiled in a way that its lips folded way beyond what would be considered normal, deforming its face, as the opening of its mouth almost reached its ears. Its teeth were also filthy, completely taken over by rot...
"How dare you come here?" The witch was the first to speak, grabbing the thing's attention.
"Well, Eico... didn't you want to see me? I came." It smiled even wider. It looked as if its face was going to rip apart at any second.
The demon slowly began to walk toward her. Its body moved in an unsettling way, as if its bones were broken, and the sound of cracking echoed through the room with every step it took. Marcos felt his heart beating so fast that it felt like it would jump out of his mouth at any moment. With every step the thing took in their direction, he felt more and more afraid, a dread so intense that his body refused to react, leaving him frozen before his other version.
Eico, on the other hand, was not going to be intimidated, so she began to recite an expulsion spell. The act considerably displeased the demon. It glared at her furiously, its smile dropping into a deadpan expression. Its black eyes seemed to grow even darker, if that was even possible, and its entire face and body seemed to darken even more. Before, its skin was a pale shade of white, but in that moment it had become practically gray. Its veins were visible and dark. Its expression, previously serious, turned wrathful, with a look of pure hatred.
"Do you really think you can stand against me, witch?" it asked with a guttural voice, no longer using Marcos's human voice.
"... Eicio te, malum, per potentiam..." The woman couldn't finish her sentence as she was violently thrown against the wall.
(... I expel you, evil being, by the power...)
Before he could even think about making a move, Chen only saw everything around him spin before feeling a heavy impact. He had been thrown away just like Eico, and so quickly that he hadn't even realized it, only understanding what had happened when he was already sprawled on the floor. He tried to get up, but he was disoriented. His body ached and his head was spinning, until he finally couldn't take it anymore and passed out.
"He is mine!" the demon bellowed. The incubus turned toward Ariel, wearing that same diabolical smile from before. It began to walk toward the curly-haired boy, but it only moved slowly, which seemed to make it angry even though the macabre smile never left its face.
"You don't have that much power in here, do you? You can barely move..." Eico said, getting up with difficulty.
The thing roared in irritation and, in a swift movement, lunged at Ariel, hovering over the curly-haired boy. The boy, even unconscious, began to gasp for air. The incubus laughed so loudly that the sound hurt the witch's ears, making them bleed. But still, she couldn't let herself be shaken. Yamamoto tried to advance toward it, but she felt her body paralyze. She could no longer move.
"You won't come any closer, witch. He is mine!" it spoke harshly.
"Your bad luck, you rotten demon, is that you are in my sanctuary. And at this exact moment, you stepped right into one of my traps." She laughed, pointing at the huge circle that surrounded Ariel, which now trapped the demon.
Slowly, the woman began to approach, step by step. The thing huffed in irritation. As much as it tried, it was as if its power didn't work on her, so it couldn't push her away like the last time. It then crouched down, turning its attention to the boy beneath its feet. Its smile, the same one that had vanished earlier, was present there once again. The demon used its long nails to mark Ariel, carving a strange symbol into his neck. Its nail, acting more like a claw, tore the boy's skin, but even making deep cuts, the wounds didn't bleed much, as if they closed the second they were opened. The thing smiled in satisfaction, licking the little blood that coated its claw.
Marcos slowly regained his consciousness, getting up with some difficulty. He was still dizzy, his vision was blurry, but he quickly remembered what was happening there, and forced himself to stand. He turned around in time to see the thing crouched over Ariel, kissing him, which filled his chest with the purest and most genuine despair. Eico was between them and seemed unable to move...
His heart raced, beating like crazy due to the fear he felt toward that whole situation. That being emanated so much malice that the Asian man had to fight against his own instincts. His body begged him to flee from there and refused to obey his mind, because as much as he wanted to run and rip that thing away from Ariel, he couldn't. He simply couldn't. The dread had completely overtaken him.
"MARCOS!" Eico shouted, snapping him back to reality. He looked at her, exasperated. "The cross! Hurry!"
He immediately understood what she meant. The man then ran to the auxiliary table, grabbing the silver cross that stood out among all the objects present there. Chen turned to where Eico was, after all, he needed to hand her the crucifix, but he was surprised to see the incubus glaring at him in a gruesome way. Its eyes were wide open and stared at him so intensely that his entire body shuddered. A chill hit him so hard that his stomach churned, making him turn around and vomit.
"Marcos, don't let him frighten you. That's what he wants!" Eico said, completely distressed.
Yamamoto was anguished. Even though she had dealt with this before, it was never an easy thing to stomach, seeing as demons were absurdly abominable beings, and even the weakest ones managed to be absurdly evil. However, that demon right there with them was definitely not an ordinary incubus. Eico thought and thought, and quickly realized that that demon was more powerful than she had imagined because maybe it wasn't just an incubus.
"Exorcizamus te, daemon malus, in nomine Dei Christiani, quia ipse est creator tuus!" As she uttered those words, the incubus seemed to grow exasperated.
(We exorcise you, evil demon, in the name of the Christian God, since he is your creator!)
"YOU BITCH! BE QUIET!" It tried to use its power to attack her, but it didn't have enough strength to throw her far away again.
"Virtute divina mihi concessa, te remitto unde venis. Ignibus inferni ardentibus exurere tergum!"
(By the divine power granted to me, I send you back to where you came from. Back to burn in the blazing fires of hell!)
The invisible force that previously held her and Marcos slowly began to unravel. The absurd terror they felt decreased to the point that both were able to move freely again, so Chen quickly handed the crucifix to the witch, who immediately ripped a piece of fabric from her skirt, wrapped it around her hand, and finally aimed the cross at the demon.
"Per sanctum nomen Domini nostri Jesu Christi, cogo te, ut dicas mihi nomen tuum. Dic nomen tuum, daemon!" she commanded. "TELL ME YOUR NAME, YOU FILTHY DEMON!"
(By the holy name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I compel you to tell me your name. Tell me your name, demon!)
"BARZAN!" it bellowed. Its voice was so guttural that the ground beneath their feet trembled. "DAMN WITCH!"
Eico finally understood why that demon wasn't an ordinary incubus. She finally understood why she had felt so terrified, even after dealing with all kinds of entities for years. Barzan was literally the personification of fear, an extremely powerful demon within the infernal hierarchy.
It all made sense!
The incubus climbed off Ariel, standing face to face with the Asian woman, and glared at her with fury. The witch once again felt her body beg her to run, such was the dread she felt. That creature's gaze was so intense it was almost as if it could directly touch her soul, tormenting her spirit.
"You will pay dearly for your insolence," it vociferated slowly.
Yamamoto pointed the crucifix at it, but to her surprise, the thing grabbed the cross right over her hand. The object began to heat up and heat up, something she had already expected to happen since that was common. It was a banal attempt by demons to make her drop the cross and thus lose her focus, but she was going to endure it. What shocked her was that never, in her entire life, had she seen a demon in its physical form hold a crucifix.
"And you... you are going... back to hell!" The pain she was starting to feel was so intense it was hard to speak. "I will cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. He will send from heaven and save me..."
"...From the scorn of the one who sought to devour me." It hummed, rolling the words around on its tongue as if tasting a fine wine. "God will send forth his mercy and his truth. Blah, blah, blah..." Barzan tilted its head, a mocking smile stamped on its face.
The thing's voice changed. It seemed it no longer wanted to frighten, but to play. It was as if the demon was just playing with her!
"I remember the man who wrote that. David, right? He was weak and a crybaby. I fucked him the exact same way I fucked your little friend over there. I consumed every prayer, every tear, until his soul became solely and exclusively mine." It laughed.
"How is that possible..." Yamamoto was in disbelief. Those words were sacred and should have wounded it until it went mad, but it uttered them as if they were nothing!
"Stupid witch. Do you really think God likes you? Do you really think he's going to give you his powers?" It cackled. The scorn in its voice was crystal clear. "What he wants is for you to burn right along with me."
Barzan twisted Eico's wrist with so much force that the woman howled in pain, leaning over, unable to withstand the pressure the demon put against her hand. It snatched the crucifix from her and threw it away, finally feeling free to move again. The creature turned to Ariel once more, but before it could walk it felt a heavy impact against its back, soon being invaded by excruciating pain. Marcos had struck it with an anointed dagger, and the blade, besides wounding it, burned like a blazing ember.
"You..." The incubus turned around, grabbing the Asian man by the throat. It was bizarre how physically similar they looked, yet the demon was an evil, twisted version of Marcos. Barzan dug its claws into Chen's neck, tearing his skin without the slightest hesitation. "I almost forgot about you..."
"Leave... him... a-alone..." He was almost out of breath, fighting to try to break free from the grip that was suffocating him.
"He is mine. But you..." The demon sniffed him, smiling psychotically. "You have something I want!"
Barzan licked Marcos's blood that was flowing profusely down his neck, which made the smaller man shiver completely upon feeling the icy touch of its tongue. A chill suddenly consumed him, yet it didn't bother him; rather, it caused him little waves of pleasure. The Asian man was almost unconscious when he finally felt the grip on his neck loosen, gasping hard as he could finally breathe freely, but before he could do anything, he was thrown to the floor with the demon climbing on top of him.
Barzan smiled widely, while Marcos trembled all over. Its presence was suffocating. Knowing that it was a demon was terrifying. Having it right there in front of him was simply despairing. The incubus sat on the Asian man's lap, perfectly positioned over his member and, incredible as it may seem, that provided him with surreal pleasure, even with all the fear he felt. The demon leaned down and kissed Marcos. It was disgusting. He felt repulsed. It was simply repugnant. Yet he allowed himself to be kissed, not even knowing why. As vile as that being was, Marcos felt pleasure in it. The pleasure consumed him completely, preventing him from getting out of there and forcing him to just continue...
When the demon finally stopped kissing him, the Asian man looked ecstatic. His body was weak, his consciousness far away. The pleasure was so great it felt like he had just had an orgasm. Marcos tried to stay awake, but soon his vision went dark and he passed out...
