Chapter 6

🌙 Later That Night

After finishing his work, Ansh finally headed home.

As the car moved along the highway, Ansh sat in the back seat with a gloomy expression.

And he wasn't alone.

Beside him sat a man in a full black suit, wearing dark glasses even at night—

his bodyguard.

The main reason for his bad mood.

Ansh glanced at him.

The man sat straight, silent, like a statue.

"…Is he even breathing?" Ansh muttered under his breath.

No response.

"Great. I've been assigned a moving corpse."

Still no reaction.

Letting out a sigh, Ansh decided to distract himself.

He turned on the inbuilt monitor in the car and began switching channels.

As Ansh flipped through the channels, he suddenly stopped.

His eyes lit up.

Not because of the news.

But because of the woman on the screen.

The anchor stood gracefully, her presence instantly commanding attention.

She had silky blonde hair cascading down her shoulders, framing a delicate yet striking face. Her rosy lips curved slightly as she spoke, carrying a natural charm that was hard to ignore.

Her figure—

was nothing short of captivating.

Her well-fitted outfit hugged her body perfectly, outlining her smooth curves in a way that was both elegant and dangerously alluring. Her waist was slender, flowing into full, well-shaped hips, while her chest rose confidently, adding to her irresistible appeal.

Every movement she made felt deliberate.

Even the way she slightly leaned forward while reading the news… or tucked a strand of hair behind her ear…

was enough to make anyone watching lose focus.

Ansh leaned forward unconsciously.

"Now this… this is what I call quality news."

Her voice was soft yet clear, carrying a subtle warmth that made it pleasant to listen to—though Ansh wasn't paying much attention to the words themselves.

Beside him, the bodyguard remained silent.

But the slight twitch at the corner of his lips didn't go unnoticed

Ansh smirked.

"Don't tell me you're watching seriously."

No response.

"…Right. Of course. Professional."

But even then—

his eyes never left the screen.

But soon—

a particular report caught both of their attention.

"As previously reported, several wild animals have begun showing unusual behavior. A new incident has just been confirmed."

Ansh straightened slightly.

"A giant elephant, nearly twice the size of a normal one, emerged from the Evergreen Forest…"

The footage appeared on screen.

"…It caused massive destruction on the highway—crushing multiple vehicles and even flipping a large truck with a single strike."

Ansh frowned.

"…Firearms proved ineffective, as bullets failed to penetrate its skin. After multiple assault operations, authorities managed to drive it back into the forest."

The car fell silent.

Ansh leaned back, his expression turning serious.

This wasn't the first time.

In recent years, animals had been showing strange changes—

growing stronger… more aggressive… almost as if they were evolving.

Governments were concerned.

Researchers were investigating.

But no one had found a clear answer yet.

The bodyguard finally spoke,

"Not just that, young master. Natural disasters have also been increasing across the world."

Ansh nodded.

"Yeah… earthquakes, storms, eruptions…"

He sighed.

"This isn't normal."

"Let's just hope the government figures something out before things get worse."

🏡 The Mansion

Soon, the car left the city.

Ansh's mansion was located far from the main urban area.

As they approached, the massive estate came into view.

A grand mansion, surrounded by a well-maintained garden and vast open land.

Peaceful.

Quite.

Too quiet.

What Ansh didn't know was—

before anyone else could uncover the truth behind these abnormalities…

He would be the first.

And that knowledge—

would change everything.

⚡ The Next Day

Ansh was sleeping peacefully.

A rare moment of calm.

Even his dreams were… pleasant.

"Ah… finally… no old man… no bodyguard… just peace…"

Then—

RUMBLE!!!

The bed started shaking violently.

"WHAT THE—?!"

The entire mansion trembled.

An earthquake.

Panicking, Ansh immediately rolled off the bed and crawled underneath it.

"Safety first!"

Not just there—

the entire world was in chaos.

Volcanoes that had been dormant for centuries began erupting.

Tornadoes tore through cities.

Earthquakes shook continents.

It was as if the world itself was changing.

Back under the bed, Ansh hugged the floor tightly.

"This is it… I knew my luck wouldn't last…"

Suddenly—

The pendant around his neck began to glow.

At first faintly…

then brighter…

and brighter—

Until the light became so intense that Ansh couldn't even open his eyes.

"WHAT NOW?!"

Covering his face, he braced himself.

Then—

Silence.

Complete silence.

The shaking stopped.

Slowly, Ansh opened his eyes.

And froze.

He was no longer under the bed.

He was… somewhere else.

A vast white space stretched endlessly in all directions.

No walls.

No ground.

No sky.

Just light.

Looking down—

he saw nothing beneath him.

He was floating.

"…Huh."

Ansh blinked.

Then muttered calmly,

"Well… I think I died."

He looked around again.

"Yeah. Definitely dead."

He sighed.

"At least it wasn't painful… probably got crushed by the mansion or something."

A pause.

Then—

"Wait… does heaven look like this?"

Another pause.

"…It's kind of empty."

He frowned.

"Where are the angels?"

He looked around again.

"…And more importantly… where are the beautiful ones?"

"Child, you sure are quite imaginative."

Hearing the sudden voice, Ansh was startled. His body jolted as he quickly looked around, trying to find whoever had spoken. But there was no one.

"Fuck… am I hearing things?" he muttered to himself, his face full of confusion.

Just as he was about to question his sanity, a slightly brighter glow began to form in front of him. The light slowly gathered, condensing into a shape, and within moments—it took the form of an old man.

Ansh's eyes widened in shock. He rubbed his eyes once… then again… just to make sure he wasn't hallucinating.

But no matter how many times he checked, the old man was still there, standing calmly and looking at him with a faint smile.

"Are you a God? Have you come to take me to heaven?" Ansh asked, his tone filled with anticipation rather than fear.

The old man's expression stiffened slightly. "Child, I am not a God. And why are you so eager to go to heaven? Shouldn't you be sad that you're dead?" he asked, clearly a little annoyed.

Ansh tilted his head in confusion. "Why would I be sad? Everyone dies one way or another. Instead of worrying about that, I'd rather see what happens next."

The old man fell silent for a moment. He genuinely had no response to that.

After a brief pause, Ansh asked again, this time even more eagerly, "So if you're not a God, are you a messenger of one? Did you come to guide me to heaven?"

The old man's lips twitched in irritation. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he replied, "Child, I am neither a God nor a messenger. And for the last time—you are not dead. So stop talking about heaven."

Ansh frowned. "I'm not dead? Then where am I? And who are you, old man?"

"Fuck…" the old man cursed inwardly, clearly irritated at how quickly Ansh's tone had shifted from respectful to completely casual.

After another moment to compose himself, he straightened his back and said, "Child, you are inside the pendant… and I am your ancestor."

Ansh didn't react immediately. He simply stared at the old man in silence.

The old man, on the other hand, was expecting shock, disbelief, maybe even excitement—but instead, he got nothing.

The silence stretched awkwardly.

Finally, unable to bear it anymore, the old man asked, "What are you staring at, child?"

Ansh raised an eyebrow. "Old man… did you hit your head on a rock when you were young?"

"Fuck!" the old man snapped out loud this time. "Why would you ask that?!"

Ansh crossed his arms casually. "Because you just said we're inside a pendant. Who in their right mind says something like that?"

The old man took a deep breath, trying very hard not to lose his temper. "Child, the pendant I speak of is not an ordinary object. It is a lost relic from ancient times—something far beyond your understanding. And when I say we are inside it, I mean our consciousness, not our physical bodies."

Despite the explanation, Ansh still looked unconvinced.

Seeing this, the old man's patience thinned further. "If you don't believe me, try touching your body. Since this is only your consciousness, you won't be able to feel anything."

Ansh hesitated for a moment, then reached out toward himself.

His hand passed right through his body.

"…Whoa."

He tried again.

Same result.

"…Okay, that's new."

Looking back at the old man, he said, "Alright, old man… I believe you."

The old man nodded, feeling slightly satisfied. But his irritation remained.

"Also," he added, "stop calling me 'old man.' I told you—I am your ancestor. Show some respect."

Ansh tilted his head. "So… are you my great-grandfather?"

He had seen his grandfather before, and this man clearly didn't resemble him. The only one he had never met was his great-grandfather.
