Chapter 11: The Immortal Herb Lust Banquet

The mist of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well rose slowly in the morning light.

Mo Bai stood by the spring's edge, holding a tattered parchment notebook in his hand—one he had "borrowed" from Dugu Bo, which recorded the characteristics of most of the immortal herbs in this precious land. His gaze swept across the exotic treasures like a chef selecting ingredients.

Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Dugu Yan stood behind him. All three girls had changed into clean clothes, but the atmosphere was subtle. Xiao Wu stayed close to Mo Bai, lightly tugging at the corner of his robe; Zhu Zhuqing stood a bit further away, her eyes fixed on the immortal herbs; Dugu Yan kept her head down, her fingers unconsciously stroking the new golden patterns on her arm—those patterns shimmered softly in the morning light like tattoos, yet also like the scales of some living creature. Her tall, elegant body with its full prominent breasts and long shapely legs was partially visible beneath the loose robe.

"Teacher, are we going to eat grass?" Xiao Wu asked curiously.

"They are immortal herbs," Mo Bai corrected her. "Each one contains the essence of heaven and earth, capable of altering one's constitution and boosting soul power. But their medicinal properties are violent; if consumed incorrectly, you will die."

He walked over to a plant that was entirely blood-red with leaves as translucent as crystal. The plant was about three feet tall, its main stem winding like a dragon, topped with a blood-colored fruit the size of a fist. The skin of the fruit had fine golden lines that pulsated like blood vessels.

"Crystalline Blood Dragon Ginseng," Mo Bai said. "It takes a thousand years to form and ten thousand years to bear fruit. Upon consumption, one's vital energy surges, physical strength doubles, and even severed limbs can regrow." He looked at Xiao Wu. "Your constitution leans toward flexibility, but lacks raw strength. This immortal herb will compensate for your shortcomings, allowing you to endure more... intense 'cultivation'."

Xiao Wu's eyes lit up: "I want to eat it!"

Mo Bai plucked the fruit of the Crystalline Blood Dragon Ginseng and sliced three pieces of ginseng flesh from the stem. "The fruit's medicinal property is the most violent, while the flesh is milder. Eat the flesh first to adapt before taking the fruit."

Xiao Wu took the ginseng slices and placed them in her mouth without hesitation. They melted instantly, turning into a warm current that slid down her throat. The next second, her face flushed crimson.

"So hot..." She clutched her chest, a faint blood-colored halo radiating from her skin. Her fluffy rabbit ears twitched cutely atop her soft dark hair, and her perky breasts rose and fell rapidly beneath her clothes.

"Sit and circulate your soul power," Mo Bai commanded.

Xiao Wu sat cross-legged and began to move her soul power. That heat current crashed through her body like countless tiny mice scurrying through her blood vessels. She could feel it—her muscles were heating up, her bones were itching, and her soul power was growing frantically.

Rank 35, 36, 37...

It surged all the way to the peak of Rank 39 before slowly stopping.

Xiao Wu opened her eyes and exhaled a white breath tinged with a bloody scent. She looked down at her hands—her skin was even more delicate and white, but with a light squeeze of her fist, she could feel the explosive power surging beneath her muscles.

"Teacher, I've become stronger!" She jumped up excitedly and threw herself into Mo Bai's arms.

Mo Bai caught her, his fingers pressing against her waist—the muscles there were supple and elastic, but hidden deep within was a steel-like strength. "Not bad. Take the fruit tonight; the effect will be even better."

He looked toward Zhu Zhuqing.

Zhu Zhuqing instinctively straightened her spine.

Mo Bai walked to another immortal herb. It was a silver-white plant with feather-like leaves and a slender stem, topped with a six-petaled flower the size of a palm. The petals were crystal clear, and at the heart of the flower was a swirling silver halo.

"Moonshadow Flowing Light Grass," Mo Bai said. "It grows by absorbing lunar essence. Consuming it significantly boosts speed and agility while tempering perception. Your Hell Civat soul already excels in speed; this herb will push your advantages to the limit."

He plucked a petal and handed it to Zhu Zhuqing.

The petal was very light, almost weightless. Zhu Zhuqing placed it in her mouth, and it dissolved immediately, turning into a cool silver stream that slid into her belly.

There was no heat, no pain.

Only a sensation of extreme lightness.

She felt her body becoming lighter, her bones becoming hollow, and the flow of her soul power quickening by at least three times. Her vision became clearer, allowing her to see dust motes floating in the air; her hearing became sharper, catching the sound of water droplets falling a hundred paces away; she could even smell the unique scents on everyone—Xiao Wu's sweet richness, Dugu Yan's faint fishiness, and Mo Bai's... profundity.

Her soul power began to climb.

Rank 29, 30, 31...

The bottleneck was punctured like paper. Her third soul ring automatically condensed above her head—not yellow, but purple. A deep purple, with silver light shimmering at the edges.

A thousand-year level.

Zhu Zhuqing was stunned. She had heard of people breaking through bottlenecks while absorbing immortal herbs, but to directly condense a thousand-year soul ring... this exceeded her understanding.

"The Moonshadow Flowing Light Grass triggers the potential accumulated within your body," Mo Bai said. "Your third soul ring was meant to be a thousand-year one; you just lacked the physical strength to endure it before. Now, it has arrived."

Zhu Zhuqing felt the surging soul power within her and her brand-new third soul skill: "Hell Moonshadow." Its effect was to instantly split into three physical clones, each possessing seventy percent of the original's speed and attack power, lasting for ten seconds.

She looked at Mo Bai, her lips moving, but in the end, she only managed to say: "Thank you."
