The Crowned Avatar stepped forward with a thunderous impact that sent hairline cracks racing through the polished royal dais.
Across the shattered threshold, Ferra stepped into Hajin's immediate reach with an unyielding look of fierce determination in her eyes.
"Hold your right arm perfectly still, Master," the smith commanded, lifting an intricate assembly of tempered alloy clasps.
"This is Refusal Brace Three, and it has only one job in this fight," she explained while fastening the retaining rivets.
"If the avatar hits you with divine recoil, this brace will absorb the shock and shatter into useless debris," she warned.
"You get exactly one distributed backlash before the structure gives out completely, so do not get greedy," she added firmly.
She tightened the final retaining clamp around his forearm with a solid, metallic snap that locked flush against his skin.
