Chapter 442 - Mining Embassy

Marrick brought Eirwen the manor keys before noon, as if a finished estate were the natural shape of foreign respect. He placed the iron ring on the registry desk between the gate rates and Hajin's civil seal book.

'Marrick means well, but that man still thinks importance needs a larger roof.'

Marrick slid the keys one careful inch closer to Eirwen. "The eastern manor has repaired rooms, a separate yard, and space for staff. A house equal to your rank would honor the embassy properly."

Eirwen left the keys untouched and glanced at the manor map instead. "My rank does not require your spare palace, because an embassy that takes the largest empty house teaches the wrong lesson."

Juna folded both arms solidly beside the registry door before speaking. "She is not wrong, because people already watch where the elf sleeps, and the manor is larger than most mining homes."
