After settling on the sacred hills of Male Mahadeshwara Hills, Male Mahadeshwara felt a powerful vision during deep meditation.
In that vision, Shiva appeared in a bright divine light and spoke:
"The hills will become a place of faith. But darkness will rise again.
You must gather brave souls who will protect this sacred land."
The next morning, Mahadeshwara walked through villages and forests. Wherever he went, people felt peace and courage.
From different places, 77 brave men came to him:
hunters from the forests
farmers from small villages
warriors from distant kingdoms
and devoted followers of Shiva
They stood before Mahadeshwara on the sacred mountain.
Mahadeshwara said to them:
"You are not just warriors.
You are protectors of faith, guardians of peace, and servants of the people."
The warriors took a sacred oath to protect the hills and the temple.
From that day, they became known as The 77 Sacred Warriors of Mahadeshwara.
They trained on the mountain every day:
some mastered the sword
some became great archers
others guarded the temple paths
Peace slowly spread across the region.
But deep in the dark forest, a powerful evil spirit watched the growing strength of Mahadeshwara and his warriors.
The demon whispered:
"Let them grow strong…
Soon the mountain will belong to me."
And the great war for the sacred hills slowly began to take shape.
