Over the next week Nero stayed at the mansion helping with jobs around the house, finding that trying to control lots of little things at once was slightly easier than trying to lift something heavy
"These new powers of yours are really helpful" chuckled Aurathia as she watched him use his psychic powers to lift the dust off of the tables into a rubbish bag
"I suppose any powers are helpful with the right mindset" Nero commented as he produced a sphere of water that he used to wash the kitchen utensils, removing the clean utensils slowly and carefully from the sphere once they were clean
"And it turns out that using your powers in the correct way is also saving us bandages" Aurathia noted, nodding at his mostly healed arm that still had bandages on
"Thanks to Akiza" Nero stated "using tribute to the doomed on my arm with good control to wrap it up and then using my powers to keep it materialized is both good training and it makes sure that they are wrapped nice and tight" looking at his right arm that currently had the card placed in it "although I'm glad that Akiza is the one who helps me wrap it, I still remember the one time I tried to do it on my own"
"Hahaha" Aurathia laughed, wiping a tear from her eye "you came running to me looking like a mummy, if it weren't due to the fact that I could sense my Falna on you I would have thought that you were some new type of monster and would have attacked you, going to Airmid with you badly beaten already covered in bandages would have been quite awkward"
"Yeah, when I told Akiza she managed to keep a straight face and didn't mock me and said that she was proud of my progress that I was able to bind myself like that" Nero said with a wry smile "but it would have been even better if I hadn't heard her giggling to herself while I was training"
"Can you blame her, I was in stitches when I saw you, it's quite impressive that she was able to hold back from laughing there and then" Aurathia giggled again "so you said that she had something planned for you tonight?"
"Yeah, apparently she has a way to prevent me from getting hurt like this again, or at least make it less likely"" Nero said "I don't know why, but she seems to have more cards for me to materialize each time I train, must be the training zone making it so that there is new things for me to focus on each time, either to increase the difficulty so that I don't just get used to materializing the same thing over and over or just in order to make it more interesting for me"
"Well training at the same level all the time makes your progression much slower" Aurathia commented "take your training with Rias for example, the increase in difficulty of her training increased the control and power of your power of destruction, most likely your training zone realized this and is improving itself over time, as if it is training itself as well as you"
"I mean I have no evidence to say that you're right, but I also have no evidence to say that you're wrong either" Nero shrugged as he finished the cleaning
"Well there's no point on dwelling on ifs so go do you're nightly training and you can tell me about it in the morning" Aurathia smiled
"Alright, see you tomorrow" Nero agreed as he made his way to his room
Quickly falling asleep as usual, Nero appeared in his training space with Akiza appearing shortly afterwards
"So, are you ready for tonight's training?" Akiza asked with a smile due to knowing that Nero wouldn't be here if he weren't
"Yeah I'm ready" Nero replied "you said that you had a plan for today?"
"I do" Akiza responded, throwing a card at Nero
Catching the card Nero looked at it "the millennium shield?" he questioned
"Indeed" Akiza nodded "your psychic powers come directly from your mind, and the stronger your focus on something, the better it will materialize, as such now that your abilities have grown to the point that you are able to manifest the cards that you have to a satisfying degree we can increase the difficulty of the training now that you have healed enough"
As she finished speaking she used her powers to remove the card from Nero's gauntlet, the bandages disappearing from his arm revealing that it had fully healed "now then, the training is going to be me attacking you and you defending" Akiza stated as she played her red rose, blue rose, white rose and roxrose dragons "the millennium shield has the defensive capabilities to defend from all my monsters and due to you having been injured recently the image will be fresh in your mind making it so that you will not want to go through that again" Akiza held her hand up in a commanding pose "now defend yourself from my dragons"
With her command the 4 dragons leapt into action, dashing towards Nero and surrounding him
"I hope I don't need to tribute summon you" Nero joked as he played the millennium shield in defence on his gauntlet, the shield floating in the air in front of him
"Unlike a real shield you will not have to hold the millennium shield and so you can focus on dodging which suits your way of fighting" Akiza informed Nero "but it will allow you to defend from attacks that are unable to dodge, so long as you keep your focus, now defend yourself" she demanded as the 4 dragons launched attacks from multiple different angles, forcing Nero to use the shield as the training changed from Nero using his mind to move rocks to him using a shield to stop himself from being burned and cut by the vortex of flames and petals that each rose dragon unleashed at him
