Having lost his main weapon Nero was forced to instead equip himself with the legendary sword as a replacement, unfortunately due to not being skilled in using a sword he was unable to fight back with it properly
"I really wish that there were more tessen equip cards" Nero complained as he ran from the infant crystal dragon that was chasing after him "I need to take out that imp if I want to have a chance to beat the dragon"
Unable to come up with an idea of how to beat the dragon Nero could only rely on the cards that he was drawing and hope that one of them gave him the flash of inspiration that he needed to take out his foes
Unfortunately they were not going to give him the chance to do so as seeing that Nero was unable to do anything about them the imps face revealed a cruel smile as it grabbed the crystals growing from the infant dragons back and started throwing them around
"What's it doing" Nero wondered, concerned by the imps sudden actions
After throwing the crystals the imp suddenly ordered the dragon to unleash its flames, but due to the fact that doing so required some charge up time Nero easily dodged out of the way of the attack, only for a searing heat to suddenly hit his right arm
"Argh, what the hell?" Nero hissed, the gauntlet on his arm having heated up massively as he used his ice abilities to cool it down as fast as he could, drops of sweat forming on his head as he realised that if he had been hit anywhere except for his gauntlet he would most likely have lost a limb or would have been directly killed
"Gehehehe" laughed the imp as it ordered to dragon to fire again
Not understanding what had happened yet Nero took the risk that whatever had hit him would be less likely to hit him if he was close to the dragon, he used his wings along with his legs to propel himself forwards underneath the dragons mouth as it unleashed another burst of fire
Watching the direction of the flames Nero finally understood what had happened as he saw some of the flames bounce off of the crystal shards that had been scattered around, causing the air to be filled with small laser like threads of flames to form before disappearing
"So that's what it is" Nero groaned as he dived out from underneath the dragon before it had a chance to squish him underneath it "but attacks from unpredictable directions, this gives me an idea, I just need to draw the card" he said looking at his deck "I might not have been trained by Yugi but I know about the heart of the cards so I really hope it works" drawing a card from his deck as he prayed for some kind of miracle
Flipping over the card to see what it was a smile formed on Nero's face "well what do you know, the heart of the cards isn't bullshit after all" he chuckled to himself, instantly playing the card, grabbing the equip that it formed, jumping into the air and throwing it with all his might
Although it was big the infant dragon moved with surprising speed as the thrown weapon sailed past its head, narrowly missing the imps on its back as it arched off into the distance
"Alright remember my training and how it acted" Nero focused, manoeuvring himself into position before holding his ground
Seeing its prey standing still all of a sudden the imp revealed a cruel smile, believing that Nero had given up it relished in its victory as it ordered the dragon to slowly move towards Nero, as it got closer it heard Nero mumbling
"One more step and five more seconds come on" Nero whispered, as the dragon took the final step "now, shadow spell" Nero activated his trap in order to keep the dragon in position
Seeing the infant dragon wrapped in chains the imp was about to order it to destroy the weak chains that were binding it before it heard a voice
"I know the dragon can easily escape steel chains like this" Nero smiled "but this is only to keep it in place, my target has always been you"
Unable to understand Nero's words the imp raised its hand to blast Nero with magic, only for something to hit it right in the neck from the side, the force of the impact breaking its neck and killing it instantly
"Cyclone boomerang, I never thought that my training with it to get used to materializing moving objects for when I summon monsters that will actually move would come in handy" Nero inwardly cheered as he watched the imp turn to dust
Unable to feel the weight or presence of the imp on its back caused the infant dragon to be momentarily stunned, unable to think for itself due to it having followed the imps commands for such a long period of time even before it had mutated
But this stupor didn't last for long as a burst of rage surged from within, unleashing a loud roar as the chains that were holding it in place shattered like glass
"Urgh, hallowed life barrier" Nero countered, having learned from his encounter with the ligerfang he had made sure to have a trap card always ready in his gauntlet that would be able to protect him from such a situation again, the barrier managing to dissipate the roar just enough for Nero to not be stunned by it but his insides still feeling the affects of the roar
Looking at the now angered infant crystal dragon that seemed to have taken on a ruby red hue Nero complained "of course it had to have a second form, what are you some kind of video game boss" getting ready to deal with the monster in front of him, some how.
