Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: Ōtsutsuki Kaguya — A Pleasant Conversation! Mōryō Attacks!

Just as Tobirama was preparing to depart, he suddenly remembered the true "final boss" still sealed within the moon.

After a moment's thought, he decided to pay that sleeping goddess a visit first.

Inside the seal—

Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, who had slumbered for countless years, slowly opened her eyes.

For the first time in a millennium, shock appeared within those pure white pupils.

This seal had been jointly laid down by Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and Hamura Ōtsutsuki. For over a thousand years, no one had ever been able to intrude upon it from the outside.

Yet now—

Hum.

The pitch-black space distorted.

A figure appeared before her.

Though it was merely a projection of consciousness, the aura radiating from him was vast enough to devour heaven and earth, making even Kaguya instinctively uneasy.

"Who are you?"

Her voice was cold and crystalline, carrying an innate majesty.

"A descendant of Hagoromo? Or of Hamura?"

…No. That wasn't right.

Her gaze locked onto Tobirama's eyes.

"Are you the reincarnation of that rebellious son?"

Killing intent surged.

Faced with the murderous aura of the progenitor of chakra, Tobirama laughed.

He laughed openly and without restraint.

Hands clasped behind his back, he stood within the sealed space as if strolling through his own garden.

"Relax, Kaguya."

His tone held no reverence—only faint amusement.

"I'm not Hagoromo's reincarnation, nor Hamura's."

"I am Uchiha Tobirama."

"Or, if you prefer… you can think of me as the current master of this world."

Kaguya frowned deeply.

"Uchiha… What is that? A branch of Hamura's descendants?"

"A mere descendant, yet you've reached this level?"

She could clearly sense it—this man's lifeform had completely surpassed the realm of mortals.

It even posed a faint threat to her.

"Why are you here?" Kaguya asked coldly. "To mock me—a defeated loser?"

"Mock you?" Tobirama shook his head. "I'm not that bored."

He stepped forward, his projection drawing close to her face, his gaze openly assessing the progenitor of chakra.

A flawless face. Pale skin. And those iconic rabbit-like horns.

Honestly, despite her age, a god-tier lifeform truly had infinite shelf life.

"I just came to see how this so-called goddess is doing."

"Oh, and to inform you of something."

"The seal can't be broken for now. The outside world is already under my control."

"As for that thing called Black Zetsu—"

"That rat in the gutter has already been dealt with."

"So I suggest you stay here and behave."

Kaguya's pupils contracted.

"You know about Black Zetsu…? Who exactly are you—"

"I know everything."

Tobirama interrupted calmly.

"The timing isn't right yet. Stay on the moon."

"When I finish cleaning up the small fry on the surface, I'll naturally come back to release you."

Kaguya was furious. Her long hair lifted without wind.

"Arrogant junior! You think that just because you possess multiple dōjutsu you can—"

"Whether I'm arrogant or not," Tobirama cut in, already losing interest,

"you'll find out in the future."

His goal had been achieved.

A greeting.

And psychological dominance.

This kind of "raising" was the most satisfying.

"See you later, Ancestor."

With a playful smile, Tobirama's figure shattered into countless motes of light and dissipated within the sealed space.

"Stop!"

Kaguya reached out—grasping only emptiness.

Silence reclaimed the seal.

Floating alone in the darkness, Kaguya's expression shifted repeatedly.

"Uchiha… Tobirama…"

She murmured the name.

Those eyes—

They were the gaze of an apex predator looking down upon its prey.

"Hagoromo… Hamura…"

"It seems the world you created has given birth to a monster."

Konoha Village, Hokage's Office.

On the sofa, Tobirama's main body slowly opened his eyes as a massive surge of ocular power retracted back into him.

"Hoo…"

Even though it had only been a consciousness projection, it was still a good start.

Rubbing his temples, Tobirama smiled in satisfaction.

Kaguya had been easier to deal with than expected.

As long as one displayed overwhelming strength, even gods were nothing more than powerful organisms.

Just then—

Sigh…

Behind the desk, Tsunade was frowning at an urgent report, her golden ponytail drooping listlessly.

The Hokage robe did nothing to conceal her figure.

Irritated, she unconsciously bit the end of her pen.

Pat.

A pair of large hands suddenly reached out from behind, pulling her straight into a familiar embrace before seating her on his lap.

"Ah!"

Tsunade instinctively raised a fist—but the familiar scent made her body relax instantly.

"When… when did you get back?" she asked, cheeks faintly flushed.

After a token struggle, she settled comfortably against him.

"Don't mess around. I'm handling official business."

"What kind of business could trouble our Hokage's secretary this much?"

Tobirama teased, twirling a strand of her hair as he casually scanned the report.

"It's an emergency from the Land of Demons," Tsunade said seriously.

"The seal there has weakened. The ancient monster Mōryō is on the verge of resurrection."

"It has an immortal body and commands a ghost army. If it isn't stopped, the entire ninja world could suffer catastrophic damage."

She paused, pointing at a line in the report.

"Every priestess who seals Mōryō dies horribly."

"This generation's priestess is named Shion—apparently still in her teens."

"The daimyo of the Land of Demons has formally requested Konoha's assistance."

"Mōryō… Shion…"

A glint flashed through Tobirama's eyes.

To him, Mōryō was nothing more than a slightly larger ant.

As for its so-called immortality—before Truth-Seeking Orbs and Yin–Yang Release, it was a joke.

As for that priestess…

"I'll take this mission."

Tobirama waved his hand decisively.

"Huh?"

Tsunade turned to him, eyes narrowed.

"You're going personally? Wouldn't a few elite jōnin be enough? Do you really need the ruler of the ninja world to step in?"

"Mōryō is an otherworldly monster," Tobirama said with a straight face. "Ordinary ninja can't handle it."

"And I'm also curious about the source of its power—could be useful research material for Orochimaru."

"Is that so?"

Tsunade's expression screamed disbelief.

"I think you're interested in that priestess, aren't you?"

She knew him far too well.

Cough.

"Tsunade," Tobirama said solemnly, "how could you think so poorly of me? I'm doing this for world peace."

"Heh. Men."

Nearby, Pakura let out a cold snort as she organized files.

Walking over, her high-slit dress swayed as she spoke mercilessly.

"Master, the last time you went to the Land of Water, you said it was for world peace too."

"And you came back with several women."

"The time before that, you claimed it was for technological development—then returned with Fūka Koyuki."

She glanced sideways. "Going to the Land of Demons this time… we're probably getting another sister, right?"

"Exactly."

Konan, who had just entered, chimed in coolly.

"Teacher, your household is already crowded. Could you show some restraint?"

Facing the collective pressure, Tobirama remained utterly calm.

As long as he wasn't embarrassed, someone else would be.

"Nonsense!"

He stood up righteously.

"I'm reclaiming rare bloodline powers lost outside the ninja world! The priestess's power is special—it must not fall into foreign hands!"

Without giving them a chance to argue—

"No time to waste! Saving lives is urgent!"

Whoosh!

Space rippled.

Tobirama vanished from the Hokage's Office in an instant, leaving only a gust of wind that sent Tsunade's and Pakura's skirts fluttering.

"…He ran?"

Tsunade stared at the empty seat, veins bulging.

Crack!

Her desk shattered under a single punch.

"Damn you, Tobirama!"

"When you get back… I'll drain you dry!"
