Chapter 216 - Chapter 216: Time Stop Counters the Assassin

Too brutal.

Before the man who hovered in midair like a demon god, hands tucked casually into his pockets, even Captain-level fighters of the Gotei 13 were being crushed one after another with terrifying ease.

Yet—

Just as despair smothered the battlefield and even breathing felt impossible—

Buzz—!!!

From the shadow behind Uchiha Tobirama, an extremely faint, fully compressed killing intent erupted without warning!

"Sting all enemies to death—!!!

Suzumebachi!!!"

A sharp, resolute cry rang out.

A petite black figure flashed like a bolt of lightning tearing through the void, appearing instantly at Tobirama's back.

It was Soi Fon, Captain of the 2nd Division and Commander of the Onmitsukidō.

She had remained hidden since the battle began—her presence suppressed to nothing. Even as captains fell one after another, she endured, waiting for a single lapse.

And now—

"Got you!"

Her golden Zanpakutō, Suzumebachi, pierced forward, aimed precisely at a vital point.

Death in two strikes.

So fast that even Kyoraku Shunsui couldn't react.

Hope flared.

But reality was merciless.

Facing the lethal strike less than a millimeter from his back, Tobirama didn't turn.

"An opening?"

"It was bait."

His lips curled.

"Time Freeze."

Buzz—!!!

An indescribable ripple spread outward.

The world lost all color.

Wind halted. Blood froze midair. Every figure across Seireitei became a motionless statue.

Soi Fon—locked in her killing thrust—was frozen as well, her eyes still blazing with resolve.

Within this gray stillness, Tobirama turned and walked calmly toward her.

"So this is the Soul Society's best assassin," he said flatly.

He removed Suzumebachi from her finger with a simple motion and let it fall away.

Then he stepped back.

"Resume."

Snap.

Time surged forward.

"Die—!"

Soi Fon's shout cut off abruptly.

Her weapon was gone.

Her position—wrong.

Before she could react, an overwhelming force slammed her down into the shattered plaza below.

Boom!

Stone collapsed. Dust erupted.

Tobirama descended and pinned her with a single foot, absolute pressure locking her in place.

"Captain Soi Fon!" Kyoraku shouted in disbelief.

Soi Fon struggled, teeth clenched, refusing to yield.

"I don't need to kill you," Tobirama said coldly.

"I will simply overwrite you."

His eyes transformed.

The crimson Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan spun into focus.

"Kotoamatsukami."

Buzz—!!!

A formless wave of power pierced directly into Soi Fon's soul.

She stiffened, a strangled cry escaping her lips as her will was engulfed—memories, loyalties, convictions unraveling and being rewritten at their source.

Seconds passed.

Then silence.

Tobirama lifted his foot.

Soi Fon rose unsteadily—and then knelt.

Not in fear.

Not in pain.

But in absolute, enforced obedience.

Her gaze was empty, then refilled—no longer with hatred, but with unwavering submission.

"I acknowledge you," she said calmly.

"My allegiance is now yours."

The remaining captains felt a chill deeper than death crawl through their bones.

That was the Commander of the Onmitsukidō.

Broken without a single visible wound.

Tobirama looked down at her, expression indifferent.

"Stand by," he ordered.

Soi Fon bowed her head.

"Yes."

Above the ruins of Seireitei, silence reigned—heavy, suffocating, and final.
