Chapter 1 - Love story of ramesh and sujita

Ramesh first saw Sujita on a quiet winter morning, the kind where the fog hangs low and the sun struggles to rise. The small town bus stand was unusually crowded that day, filled with students, vendors, and sleepy travelers clutching cups of hot tea. Ramesh stood near the edge, adjusting the strap of his worn-out bag, his eyes scanning the road for his bus.

That's when he noticed her.

She stood a little apart from the crowd, wrapped in a soft blue shawl, her hair tied loosely, strands dancing in the cold breeze. She was reading something—completely lost in it, as if the chaos around her didn't exist. There was a calmness about her, a quiet confidence that drew Ramesh in without him even realizing it.

He didn't know her name then, but something about that moment stayed with him.

Days passed, and life continued as usual. Ramesh attended college, helped his father in their small shop, and tried to focus on his studies. But every now and then, he would think of that girl at the bus stand. It wasn't love—at least, that's what he told himself. Just curiosity.

Fate, however, had its own plans.

One afternoon, as Ramesh walked into his classroom, he froze. Sitting in the second row, talking to a group of girls, was the same girl from the bus stand. She looked different in daylight—more lively, her smile bright enough to light up the entire room.

That day, he learned her name: Sujita.

From that moment on, college became something more than just lectures and exams. Ramesh found himself noticing the smallest details—when Sujita laughed, how she tucked her hair behind her ear while concentrating, how she always helped others with their notes.

At first, he kept his distance. He wasn't the kind of person who easily started conversations. But love has a way of pushing people out of their comfort zones.

One day, during a group assignment, their professor randomly paired students. Ramesh held his breath as names were called.

"Ramesh… and Sujita."

It felt unreal.

Their first conversation was awkward. Ramesh stumbled over his words, while Sujita smiled patiently, making it easier for him. She wasn't distant or arrogant as he had feared. Instead, she was warm, friendly, and surprisingly easy to talk to.

As days turned into weeks, their conversations grew longer. They started meeting in the library, sharing notes, discussing dreams, and sometimes just sitting in silence, comfortable in each other's presence.

Ramesh learned that Sujita loved reading novels, dreamed of becoming a teacher, and believed in simple living. Sujita discovered that Ramesh was hardworking, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted to his family.

Somewhere between shared notebooks and stolen glances, friendship turned into something deeper.

Ramesh realized it first.

It happened on a rainy evening. They were walking back from college, sharing a single umbrella. The roads were muddy, the sky dark, but there was laughter in the air. Sujita slipped slightly, and Ramesh instinctively held her hand to steady her.

For a moment, time stopped.

Their eyes met, and neither of them said a word. But in that silence, Ramesh understood what his heart had been trying to tell him all along.

He was in love.

But love isn't always easy.

Ramesh came from a modest family. His father struggled to keep their small business running, and expectations were high for him to support the household. Sujita, on the other hand, belonged to a more financially stable family, with different dreams planned for her.

Ramesh hesitated.

He feared rejection—not just from Sujita, but from the world around them. What if he wasn't enough? What if their differences became a barrier?

So, he stayed silent.

But Sujita wasn't unaware.

She noticed the way Ramesh looked at her, the way his tone softened when he spoke to her, the way he always made sure she got home safely. She felt something too—something she couldn't ignore.

One evening, as they sat under a large banyan tree on campus, Sujita finally broke the silence.

"Ramesh… do you ever feel like some things are better left unsaid?"

Ramesh looked at her, confused. "What do you mean?"

She smiled softly. "Like feelings… that are obvious, but still hidden."

Ramesh's heart raced.

He took a deep breath. "And what if those feelings are important?"

Sujita looked into his eyes, her voice barely above a whisper. "Then maybe… they should be spoken."

That was the moment everything changed.

Ramesh gathered all his courage. "Sujita… I don't know when it started. Maybe the day I saw you at the bus stand. Or maybe during our first assignment. But… I love you."

There was a pause.

A long, terrifying pause.

Then Sujita smiled—the kind of smile that made everything else disappear.

"I was waiting for you to say that," she said.

From that day on, their world felt different. Brighter. Fuller.

They shared dreams, planned futures, and promised to stand by each other no matter what. Their love wasn't grand or dramatic—it was simple, genuine, and deeply rooted in understanding.

But reality soon caught up.

When Sujita's family found out, they weren't pleased. They had other plans for her—plans that didn't include a boy from a struggling background.

Ramesh faced pressure too. His family depended on him, and love felt like a distraction he couldn't afford.

Days turned tense. Meetings became rare. Conversations grew heavy with unspoken fears.

At one point, they even considered letting go.

But love, when true, doesn't fade easily.

One night, Ramesh made a decision. He couldn't give up—not on Sujita, not on their dreams.

He worked harder than ever before. He took up part-time jobs, focused on building a stable future, and slowly proved to himself—and others—that he was capable of more.

Sujita stood by him through it all. Despite the pressure from her family, she remained strong, believing in Ramesh and their love.

Years passed.

Ramesh eventually secured a good job, bringing stability to his family. His hard work began to speak louder than any words.

Slowly, even Sujita's family began to see the sincerity in their relationship.

It wasn't an easy journey, but love rarely is.

Finally, after years of struggle, patience, and unwavering belief, their families agreed.

The day Ramesh and Sujita got married was simple but beautiful. There were no grand decorations or extravagant celebrations—just genuine smiles, blessings, and a love that had stood the test of time.

As they stood together, hand in hand, Ramesh looked at Sujita and smiled.

"Remember the bus stand?" he asked.

Sujita laughed softly. "I do. I didn't know then that my life was about to change."

Ramesh squeezed her hand. "Neither did I."

Their journey wasn't perfect. There were struggles, disagreements, and challenges ahead. But they faced everything together.

Because in the end, love isn't about perfection.

It's about choosing each other, every single day.

And Ramesh and Sujita did just that.
