Chapter 52 - Even the Monsters Want Nothing to Do With Me

After Ren and the others stepped onto the second floor, the teachers standing near the entrance nodded in satisfaction.

Aside from Rina-sensei, Shizuka Hiratsuka, and Jin-sensei, there were a few other teachers present. If Ren and his classmates had been there, they would have definitely recognized them as the teachers who had taught them other subjects before the class divisions.

"They're all doing quite well, especially Ren," Rina-sensei said, beaming with joy. She was incredibly satisfied with Ren's performance. Ever since the students entered the Dungeon, their every move had been monitored by the teachers, thanks to one of the teachers' talents.

Whether it was Ren's initial warning to the group or his subsequent leadership in guiding everyone to the second floor, Rina-sensei was thoroughly pleased.

The students in the class now treated Ren as their core pillar. It seemed he would be the perfect candidate for class representative in the future, especially since he was always happy to help his peers at school.

If he were made the class representative, probably no one would object. Ren had truly won over the hearts of the people; having him take on the role was likely what everyone hoped for.

"Rina-sensei, let's get moving as well. These little guys still need our protection for a while," one of the other teachers spoke up.

Now that Ren and the others had entered the second floor, that teacher's talent could no longer monitor them. The sensory ability only worked within the same spatial plane, and the first and second floors were entirely different spaces.

"Then let's head out!" Rina-sensei nodded without hesitation. She immediately led the group of teachers forward at a brisk pace, following the students down to the second floor. Their figures darted swiftly through the Dungeon, and in just a few minutes, they traversed from the exit of the first floor to the entrance of the second.

The teacher with the sensory ability activated it once more, quickly locking onto the students' locations. By now, the classmates had dispersed again. Just like before, everyone had begun exploring and mapping out their respective areas.

Meanwhile, Ren led his own party down a chosen path through the Dungeon. Here on the second floor, the encounter rate with monsters was noticeably more frequent than on the first.

It didn't take long after setting out for Ren's group to encounter their first batch of monsters. This time, the sheer number of creatures was greater than before, and they spawned simultaneously from all four directions—above, below, left, and right—within the corridor ahead.

Watching the monsters materialize from the Dungeon walls, a flash of excitement crossed Ren's eyes. Just as he was about to make his move, he suddenly felt a strange sensation—was someone spying on him?

This realization left Ren deeply puzzled, but in the very next moment, his own sensory abilities received an unprecedented enhancement. In a mere instant, every single movement within a one-kilometer radius of this space surfaced clearly in his mind.

Ren blinked. *A new talent? And a sensory-type one at that.* He quickly gleaned the name of this new ability from his mind: [Spatial Perception]!

A god's-eye view had manifested in Ren's mind, allowing him to observe everything within a one-kilometer radius, and he could even adjust the perspective at will.

The appearance of this god's-eye view also made Ren realize why he had felt like he was being watched just moments ago. *So it was the teachers. This is how they've been observing the students.*

With this kind of sensory ability, the stronger one's power, the further the perception range. Plus, it consumed Mental Power. *This is incredibly useful. Excellent, this talent is mine now!*

Ren pondered all of this for only a split second. Snapping back to reality, he called out, "Let's go!"

With that, Ren charged forward, Tang Dao in hand. The monsters that had spawned from the Dungeon took on the forms of wolves, lunging fiercely at Ren's party.

Taking the lead, Ren directly confronted a half-meter-tall wolf. It opened its bloodthirsty maw and snapped at him, but Ren wasn't about to indulge it. He swung his Tang Dao, delivering a clean horizontal slash.

Instantly, half of the wolf's head was severed. Mid-air, its body dissipated, returning to the Dungeon as nutrients, leaving behind only a single Magic Stone as proof of its existence.

Asuna and Yukino flanked Ren from behind, charging in from the left and right. The remaining monsters leaping toward them were swiftly dispatched by their weapons.

Meanwhile, Megumi Kato had somehow slipped behind the pack of wolves completely unnoticed. Brandishing her dagger, she viciously plunged it into the neck of one of the beasts.

After executing the strike, Megumi quickly retreated and moved on to her next target. The wolves seemed completely oblivious to her presence, continuing their blind charge toward Ren and the others.

The dwindling number of their companions didn't affect them in the slightest. Right now, these wolves only wanted to tear Ren, Asuna, and Yukino to shreds and feast on their flesh.

Unfortunately for the monsters, the gap in strength was simply too vast. Whether it was Ren, Asuna, or Yukino, the three of them dispatched the wolves with a single strike each. Blades fell, and soon, nothing remained but a few Magic Stones scattered on the ground.

"The drop rate is a bit low, isn't it? There were clearly over a dozen wolves, but they only dropped five Magic Stones?" Ren muttered, looking at the loot on the ground with a hint of dissatisfaction.

"Be glad we got any at all. Let's pack them up and keep moving," Asuna said, rolling her eyes. She stepped forward, gathered the Magic Stones, and stuffed them into her spatial backpack.

The group had already briefly discussed how to handle the Magic Stones: they would collect them all in Asuna's spatial backpack first, and once they left the Dungeon, they would split the profits equally. It was the fairest method of distribution.

Megumi sheathed her dagger and walked back to the group. Seeing her, Yukino couldn't help but remark, "Megumi, your talent is truly absurd. You charged right into the middle of them, and those wolves completely ignored you."

Recalling Megumi's combat performance just now, Yukino couldn't hold back her praise. She had seen the whole thing—Megumi had waded into the fray as if entering an unpopulated wasteland, slaughtering the monsters with impunity.

"Even if you say that, it's still pretty depressing. Even the wolves want nothing to do with me," Megumi replied, looking a bit downcast. It seemed she really needed to work harder on controlling her talent.

As her strength grew, she had actually started to feel it. Ren had been right when he told her earlier—her talent was something she could attempt to control.

Perhaps once she fully mastered her talent, her situation would improve. Otherwise, she would forever remain invisible, noticed only by those whose strength was equal to or greater than her own.

In fact, even people of similar strength might overlook her if they weren't paying close attention. Megumi's talent was actually perfectly suited for first-encounter assassinations.

Especially against those who were unaware of the situation, Megumi could always sneak up beside them out of nowhere and deliver a deadly surprise. By the time they reacted, the blade would have already gone in clean and come out red.

At this point, the others didn't even know how to comfort her. *What do you mean 'even the wolves want nothing to do with me'? Shouldn't you be thrilled to have such an overpowered talent right now?*
