Ethan woke to the sound of Sansa's soft breathing beside him. Pale morning light filtered through the heavy curtains of her chamber. Her naked body was pressed against his, one leg draped over his thigh, auburn hair spilling across his chest like silk.

As they spoke, a shout echoed from the broken tower.
"Bran! Get down from there!"
Ethan's heart jumped. He knew exactly what day this was.
He sprinted toward the tower with Jon and Robb right behind him. A small crowd had gathered — Theon, some guards, and Catelyn Stark looking up in horror.
Bran Stark, only ten years old, was climbing high up the ancient tower, chasing a raven. He was already thirty feet up.
Ethan didn't hesitate.
"System, activate Danger Sense to full!"

He climbed after the boy, hands gripping the cold stones. His improved Agility made the ascent faster than any normal person could manage.
"Bran! Stay still!" he shouted.
The boy looked down, startled. His foot slipped.

Bran fell.
Ethan lunged, grabbing the boy's wrist with one hand while clinging to the wall with the other. The sudden weight nearly tore his arm off, but his Strength held.

"I trained hard, my lord," Ethan replied, wincing as he stood. "And I couldn't let him fall."
Ned placed a heavy hand on his shoulder. "You have my thanks, Ethan Snow. From this day forward, you train with my sons. No more servant quarters. You'll have a proper room in the Great Keep."

Jon looked at him for a long moment, then nodded.
"I will."
