Between Us in Bangkok

Ep - 1

Bangkok never sleeps.

The city glowed beneath the night sky, wrapped in neon lights and quiet secrets. Towering buildings stood like silent witnesses to power, ambition… and control.

Nicha Rattanakul stood in front of the massive glass entrance of Vongsawat Group, her reflection staring back at her.

This place felt too big. Too cold. Too far from everything she had ever known.

But she didn't step back.

Not today.

Not anymore.

She tightened her grip on the file in her hand and walked inside.

The air changed instantly.

Everything was polished, perfect… intimidating. People moved quickly, heads lowered, voices barely above whispers.

As if they were afraid of something.

Or someone.

"Make sure you don't make a mistake on your first day."

The warning from yesterday echoed in her mind.

Nicha frowned slightly.

She didn't come all the way to Bangkok to be scared.

The elevator doors opened with a soft sound.

And the moment she stepped out—

She collided with someone.

Papers slipped from her hands, scattering across the floor.

"I'm so—"

Her words stopped halfway.

Because the woman standing in front of her wasn't just beautiful.

She was terrifying.

Tall. Composed. Dressed in black like she owned the world itself.

Her eyes were cold, sharp enough to cut through anything.

Nicha felt it instantly.

This wasn't someone you casually apologized to.

This was someone people feared.

Araya Vongsawat.

Even without introduction, the name felt heavy in the air.

Araya's gaze dropped to the scattered papers before slowly lifting to Nicha's face.

"First day?"

Her voice was calm. Controlled.

But it carried authority that made the entire hallway go silent.

Nicha swallowed.

"Yes."

A pause followed.

Then Araya spoke again.

"Pathetic."

The word landed without emotion.

But it burned.

Around them, people froze. No one dared to move.

Nicha's fingers slowly curled into a fist.

For a moment, she could have lowered her head. Stayed silent. Walked away.

That would have been the smart choice.

But she didn't.

Instead, she lifted her chin and met Araya's eyes directly.

"Then maybe you should teach me better."

The silence deepened.

Someone in the distance stopped breathing.

Because no one talked to Araya Vongsawat like that.

No one.

For the first time, something shifted.

Araya didn't respond immediately.

Her gaze stayed on Nicha a second longer than necessary.

Studying her. Measuring her.

As if trying to understand why this girl wasn't afraid.

Or worse—

Why she was interesting.

"Be in my office. Ten minutes."

Araya turned and walked away without another word.

The sound of her heels echoed down the hallway like a warning.

Or a promise.

Nicha stood there, heart beating faster than before.

She didn't know if she had just secured her future…

Or stepped into something far more dangerous.

But one thing was certain.

She didn't look away.

And neither did Araya.

Not anymore.

To be continued…
